It’s a David James Elliott (JAG) weekend with not only his new Hallmark Channel movie Dad’s Home debuting tonight (June 19) at 9 PM (check local listings for airtime in your area) but also the debut of his new summer series Scoundrels on ABC, airing tomorrow night (June 20) at 9 PM.
First, the Hallmark Channel movie Dad’s Home is about Ben Westman (Elliott), who is shocked when he loses his job as an advertising executive because – of all things – he makes too much money. He ends up in a new role, that of Mr. Mom; but he makes a mess of everything. In time he gets his bearings and even finds support in the form of his son’s teacher, Hope (Sharon Case, The Young and the Restless). But, when he receives an offer for a great job in another city, Ben has to decide what is most important in his life.
The cast also includes Madison Davenport (Amish Grace) and Will Shadley (Dirty Sexy Money, playing his daughter Lindsay and son Dylan.
Dad’s Home premieres on the Hallmark Channel on Saturday, June 19 at 9 PM.

Scoundrels
As for the new ABC series Scoundrels, viewers will get to see a very different side of Elliott, as he plays Wolf West, the patriarch of a clan of criminals – albeit the non-violent, non-drug using kind. Wolf and his wife Cheryl (Virginia Madsen) have been married for two decades and are still very much in love – even with 4 children to contend with. However, all is not rosy in the family when Papa West is sentenced to a four-year prison term (which was expected to only be a seven-month stint) and Cheryl will, inadvertently, become a single mom overseeing the family “business” and reigning in her out-of-control son Cal (Patrick Flueger) and her wayward daughters Heather (Leven Rambin) and Hope (Vanessa Marano). Her son Logan – twin to Cal (also played by Patrick Flueger) has his “head on straight” and has just passed the bar.
Scoundrels, based on the New Zealand series Outrageous Fortune, will debut on ABC on Sunday, June 20 at 9 PM.
