The Hallmark Channel movie Paris, Wine and Romance will debut on May 4 at 9 PM.

Isabella (Jen Lilley) travels to Paris to compete in a major wine competition. While there she meets, Jacque (Dan Jeannotte), a competitor who shows her the city of love and teaches her about how wine is more than just a business.

On May 4, the UP TV premiere movie The One I Wrote For You will debut at 7 PM.

Cheyenne Jackson (30 Rock) plays Ben Cantor, a coffee shop barista and family man who decides to rekindle his dream to make it big as a musician by competing in a reality TV show for songwriters.

The cast includes Christine Woods (FlashForward) and veteran actors Kevin Pollak and Christopher Lloyd.

On May 3, the new Netflix movie The Last Summer will debut online.

High school graduates wrestle with love and friendship during their final summer together before heading off to college.

The leads are KJ Apa (Riverdale), Maia Mitchell (Good Trouble and The Fosters), Jacob Latimore (The Chi) and Halston Sage (The Orville).

The cast also includes Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf), Sosie Bacon (13 Reasons Why and Here and Now), Gage Golightly (Teen Wolf), Greer Grammer (Awkward), Gabrielle Anwar (Burn Notice) and Ed Quinn (Eureka).

The programming options on the major networks over the weekend were pretty normal with mostly repeats on Saturday except for one drama and Sunday night’s usual small amount of dramas airing new episodes, including the debut of a new limited series.

On April 30, the 6th season premiere of The 100 will air on The CW at 9 PM.

The season finale of the Hulu streaming series The Act will air online on May 1.

On May 2, the final season of iZombie will get started tonight on The CW at 8 PM.

The new Starz period piece drama The Spanish Princess will debut on May 5 at 8 PM. This series is set in 16th century London, focusing on Catherine of Aragon (Charlotte Hope from Game of Thrones), the strong-willed young Princess of Spain, who has been promised the English throne since she was a child. She arrives in a grey, rain-lashed England with her glorious and diverse court including her ladies-in-waiting Lina – a Spanish noble of African Iberian descent – and the sweet and free-spirited Rosa. When her husband Prince Arthur dies suddenly, the throne seems lost to Catherine until she devises an audacious plan and sets her sights on the new heir, the charismatic and headstrong Prince Harry (Ruairi O’Connor) who will one day rule as King Henry VIII. The cast includes Elliot Cowan (Lost in Austen), Dame Harriet Walter (Downton Abbey and Sense and Sensibilities), Georgie Henley (Chronicles of Narnia franchise) and Laura Carmichael (Downton Abbey)

Also on May 5, When Calls the Heart will be back on the Hallmark Channel at 8 PM after its short hiatus with a special, new episode on May 6 at 8 PM as well.

The Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movie Hailey Dean Mysteries: Death on Duty will debut on May 5 at 9 PM.
Psychologist and former prosecutor Hailey Dean (Kellie Martin) aids her friend Detective Garland Fincher (Viv Leacock) in investigating the murder of his former Marine friend. With a growing list of suspects who each seem to have strong motives, Hailey uses her investigative skills, as well as her uncanny ability to read people, to read and follow the clues that will lead them to the killer. And, when the body of a female Marine shows up in the same park where Fincher’s buddy was found, the case takes a whole new turn as Hailey uncovers a conspiracy that puts her own life in danger as she pursues justice for the victims.

RENEWALS/CANCELLATIONS

Both NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: New Orleans have been renewed for a new season next year. (Variety)

Better Call Saul will end at the end of season 6. (The Hollywood Reporter)

CBS All Access has renewed The Good Fight for a 4th season. (Variety)

The CW has given season renewals to All American, The 100, In The Dark and Roswell New Mexico. (Variety)

Netflix has cancelled Santa Clarita Diet after three seasons. (Variety)

Blindspot has been pulled for several weeks by NBC. It will return for its final episodes on May 24 and May 31. (The Hollywood Reporter)

CASTING NEWS

Actress Laura Donnelly (Jenny Fraser on Outlander) has landed a lead role in the upcoming HBO Joss Whedon series The Nevers that got a straight-to-series order back in July. The series is a sci-fi epic about a gang of Victorian women who find themselves with unusual abilities, relentless enemies, and a mission that might change the world. Donnelly will star as Amalia True, the most reckless, impulsive, emotionally damaged hero of her time. A menace to stuffy Victorian society, she would die for the cause and kill for a drink. Actress Rosemarie DeWitt (La La Land) has joined the cast of the Hulu limited series Little Fires Everywhere based on Celeste Ng’s 2017 that follows the intertwined fates of the picture-perfect Richardson family and an enigmatic mother and daughter who upend their lives. DeWitt will play Linda McCullough, the best friend of Elena (to be played by Reese Witherspoon). After longing for a child for decades and suffering losses no mother should suffer, Linda happily and wholeheartedly takes in an infant who was abandoned at a local fire station. Kerry Washington also stars in the series. (The Futon Critic)

Actress Amber Midthunder (Legion), who plays Rosa Ortecho on Roswell, New Mexico has been promoted to a series regular in the recently ordered 2nd season of the series. (Deadline and The Futon Critic)
