This event isn’t just a fun pop culture event that coincides with the annual fete in San Diego, it also supports a very worthy cause: Operation Smile.

Just Us Guys Graphic NEW

The folks over at 82893 Productions are moving forward with more projects. Namely, they are working on the first official season of Just Us Guys, a comedy/drama web series about Scott, a gay dad, who has a best friend relationship with his straight son, Max [think Gilmore Girls with guys] that is slated to consist of 13 episodes, each 10 minutes long, set for a March 2014 release as well as working on Elsie, a spin-off web series from Just Us Guys that is slated to consist of roughly 7 episodes, each set to be about 1 to 5 minutes long.

Just Us Guys, the prequel episodes, have been screened at the San Diego International Comic-Con Independent Film Festival this past July and at the first Salt Lack City (Utah) Comic-Con Film Festival in September. The Just Us Guys folks will also be participating in a panel at Bent-Con this coming Saturday, November 9 at PM.

Currently, 82893 Productions has an Indiegogo Campaign ongoing to raise money for both Just Us Guys and Elsie but as well as for several worthy causes: Breast Cancer Awareness and It Gets Better.

There are still 11 days left in the current campaign and any donation will be welcome!

Nerd Machine

For the past couple years actor Zachary Levi – the star of Chuck – and his talented crew have been organizing Nerd HQ, which features panels – separate from those panels at Comic Con – featuring actors and actresses (and creative types) such as Nathan Fillion, the cast of Psych, Jared Padalecki and so many more.

The panels for this year have finally been revealed and you can find those details below:

Conversations for a Cause Panels

Tickets are supposed to go on sale tomorrow, July 11 at 12 Noon (Pacific time).

Tickets are limited to two (2) tickets per order and cannot be transferred or resold. All proceeds go toward Operation Smile.

Good luck to those of you who will be trying for these tickets as they tend to sell out fast.

As of yesterday, an online auction – the Primetime Emmy Season Online Auction to be exact – opened courtesy of The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation (the folks behind the Emmy Awards for those unfamiliar with the name).

You can visit here to find out all the great TV goodies up for bid. But, some of the highlights of the auction include the following items:

– VIP tour of Warner Bros. Studios, complete with tickets to “The Big Bang Theory”
