Jim O’Heir, “Jerry Gergich”
Retta, “Donna Meagle”

It will be members first! To reward members of The Paley Center for Media for their support; and for the first time (ever), there will be two lines in front of the Saban Theatre: one for members and one for the general public. The members line will allow access to the theater before the general public.

If you are a member, all you need to do to ensure that you receive priority entry is to bring your member card with you to the show. If you are a new member and have not yet received your card, please bring your confirmation email from TicketWeb as proof of membership.

If you are not a member, you can join on-the-spot and receive early entry for the remainder of the Festival.

And the same member benefits will apply for events and programs held at The Paley Center throughout the year, including priority entry.

NOTE: It will be interesting to see how the Saban Theatre handles/organizes these two entry lines since for years now the folks who have VIP and/or Premium Passes are allowed early access – in fact, they pay a higher amount for their tickets to ensure early admittance.

Davy Jones

I have never done an individual posting on any passing of a celebrity before, but the news broke this morning that Davy Jones, singer and actor from the 1960’s pop group The Monkees has passed away; and I needed to make a special note of the news.

Davy and The Monkees were introduced to me back in the early 1970’s when their TV show would air during Saturday morning programming, becoming a very important part of my life.

In the 1980’s MTV reaired their show in conjunction with the band’s anniversary tours, which brought a whole new generation of fans to their music.  And, I was there for the reunion tours and appearances.

I have remained a long-life fan of the group and am deeply heartbroken by his passing.  Rest in Peace Davy Jones.

Deepest condolences are extended to Davy’s family, friends and his worldwide fans.

ADDED:
Fellow Monkee Micky Dolenz was on the Today Show today (March 1) to talk about Davy and it was a nice little tribute to him. Here is the video for those who want to see it.

GCB

On March 4 the new ABC drama GCB will debut at 10:01 PM.

Show Synopsis: Amanda Vaughn (Leslie Bibb), once the ultimate high school “mean girl,” is forced to return home in disgrace after her marriage ends in scandal. Reluctant but desperate, Amanda has no choice but to turn to her mother, Gigi (Annie Potts), for help. Gigi, the quintessential proper Dallas socialite, wants nothing more than to have Amanda back and to give Amanda’s two teenage kids a good southern upbringing. The problem is that Amanda is nothing like the girl she was 20 years ago and is hesitant about re-entering this world of opulence, status and salacious rumor mills. She is hopeful for a new start, but soon finds it’s not that easy to escape your past in this tightknit community.

The cast includes Kristin Chenoweth, Miriam Shor, Jennifer Aspen and Marisol Nichols as well as David James Elliott, Mark Deklin and Brad Beyer.

Here is a trailer for GCB.
