The Asteroids Galaxy Tour
The Asteroids Galaxy Tour is a Danish alternative pop duo, formed in 2008, consisting of vocalist Mette Lindberg and producer Lars Iversen. However, when they perform live, they extend to a six-piece band with a horn section, featuring Miloud Carl Sabri (trumpet), Sven Meinild (saxophone), Mads Brinch Nielsen (guitar), and Rasmus Valldorf (drums). Iverson is the primary songwriter.
Their debut single, “The Sun Ain’t Shining No More“, was released in September of 2008 on their own ‘Small Giants‘ label. Around that same time, their demo was heard by Amy Winehouse, who asked them to be her opening act in Copenhagen. This was their first proper live show. Not long after that, their song “Around the Bend” – today’s Song of the Day – was chosen by Apple to be used in their new iPod Touch commercial to be aired worldwide. This song, of course, has become their biggest single to date, achieving recognition and sales around the globe and launching the band onto the international stage.
