According to a post at Twitter made by the folks behind Comic Con there is a SPAM ALERT for which everyone should be aware.

Here is what they had to say:

“Please disregard any solicitations from parties pretending to represent Comic-Con International. It is a scam. Thank you.”

Please be forewarned and please don’t fall for the scam!
