Hey All,

The news for today is very short, but still some interesting items to share and some important scheduling notices for CBS. Please read on…

MARK YOUR CALENDARS – CHANGES COMING

CBS Announces Mid-Season Additions and Time Period Moves

DEVELOPMENT NEWS

Actor Damian Lewis (Life) has joined Claire Danes in the Showtime pilot Homeland, where he will play a former prisoner of war being investigated by a C.I.A. agent (Danes) for a suspected terrorist plot. (Deadline and Zap2It)

BOX OFFICE NEWS

Director Terry Gilliam and visual effects artist Tim Ollive are teaming for the movie 1884, which is described as a mixed-media adventure-espionage story set in an alternate 1884 where the industrial revolution went a lot further and faster along than it has – resulting in a futuristic imperial metropolis beset with steam-powered flying cars and the scientific advancement of mankind. The story will mix animation, live-action puppetry and CGI while the backgrounds will blend period photography, miniatures and graphics. (Variety and Dark Horizons)

RUMOR PATROL

It has been rumored that wrestler turned actor John Cena is being considered for the new ABC TV series based on James Cameron’s 1994 film True Lies. (Dark Horizons and What’s Playing)

Q&A SECTION (with Adam and Natalie at TV Guide)

Question: Anything juicy coming up on Castle? — Melanie

ADAM: It’s the moment Castle fans have long fantasized about: In the Jan. 3 episode, Castle will look Beckett square in the eyes and say, “Will you marry me?” Speaking of fantasies, just wait until you see Castle’s reaction to finally living out one of his dreams: being alone in a room with two Becketts at the same time.

Question: When will we get more back story on The Vampire Diaries? — Maxine

NATALIE: An upcoming flashback to 1864 will give Elena a new perspective on her sibling suitors. Before then, though, expect a visit or two from the Grim Reaper. “A lot of people are dying,” Katerina Graham (who plays Bonnie) tells us. “Not, like, too many, where it’s like, ‘Why are all these people dying?’ But a couple of important characters are going to go.”

Question: Can you share any scoop on Mark Singer’s guest stint on V? — Nick

NATALIE: His character will play a big role in the next level of the Visitor resistance. “He’s the leader of this massive [government-funded] military group called The Aries Project,” which is preparing for a Visitor attack, says executive producer Scott Rosenbaum. “They’re not a rag-tag [organization]; they’re the real deal.”

That’s it. Enjoy!
