Klaus has been cast, folks, and it’s a new face for American TV. Here are the details from Michael Ausiello at TV Line.
And, here is the follow up item by Vampire Diaries Net.
Thoughts?!
UPDATE: For those who watched the British series Hex, Joseph appeared in several episodes of the first season playing the role of Troy and he will be seen in the made-for-TV movie Ben Hur that will be out sometime this year, starring alongside Kristin Kreuk of Smallville fame and Emily VanCamp of Everwood and Brother & Sisters fame.
ANOTHER UPDATE: A CW insider tells E! Entertainment Online the report is “just speculation at this point.”
ME: Interesting, no?!

I reviewed Hex for my site. I remember Troy as “pretty good,” but they didn’t give him much to do. He was sort of a Matt-type character; spent a lot of time wondering what was going on.
TVD does have a good track record with its casting. Looking forward to what the second half of the season has to offer.
I vaguely remember Troy, but really had to think about it once I started going through Joseph’s resume. It didn’t click right away. We shall see how he does, huh? Although a CW insider told E! Entertainment Online that his casting was “just speculation at this point”. I added that to my post and it does make things a bit more interesting. Did they not want him or the news leaked yet or what?!
There are an awful lot of pretty twenty-somethings wandering around. I know that’s the mandate on a show like this, but I was wondering if they’d go in a more unexpected direction with Klaus. Older, maybe, or a very very young kid.
