I don’t want to be spoilerish for those who may not have seen tonight’s episode of Army Wives on Lifetime yet or for those who will be viewing it at a later time, but I had to stop to take a moment to say what a moving and emotion-packed episode it was.
I think most of us – unless we have a member of the family or close friend in the military – forget the sacrifices our men and women who serve our country in all the branches of the armed forces make for us each and every day; but tonight’s episode of Army Wives clearly brought to light just how difficult it can be.
They handled the death of a very special character in the show so well I was moved to tears throughout the entire episode. Yes, it is just a TV show you may say, but the loss of any soldier is impactful to that soldier’s family, their friends and community. The depiction in this episode felt genuine and was nothing short of moving.
While I don’t have any family members or friends who serve in the military, I know what it feels like to lose someone very dear and special. The folks at Army Wives should be commended for making such a realistic episode about the tragedies of war and none of us should ever forget the sacrifices all those in the armed forces make to keep us safe no matter where they serve.
