Lost Girl
According to James Hibberd over at Entertainment Weekly, Syfy has picked up the Canadian supernatural series Lost Girl.
Lost Girl stars Anna Silk (Being Erica) as Bo, a demon seductress (aka a succubus) who feeds off sexual energy. Raised by human parents, Bo had no idea she was any different until she accidentally “drained” her first boyfriend to death. She hits the road and discovers she’s a member of a group that feeds off human energy (called Fae), and she must choose between joining the light and dark clans. Other characters include Dyson, a homicide detective/Bo’s love interest, who also happens to be a werewolf (Kris Holden-Ried), Kenzi, a human confidante and street-smart survivor (Ksenia Solo), Lauren, a human doctor who competes for Bo’s heart (Zoie Palmer), and Detective Hale, a handsome male “Siren” who is Dyson’s partner on the police force (K. C. Collins).
Syfy has picked up the two (existing) seasons of the show; the first of which has already aired in Canada and was available online for everyone outside of Canada to watch if you could find the right links. The second season is reportedly going to air this fall in Canada and now American audiences will get to see it too.
NOTE: I am personally extremely delighted by this news, as I was able to watch the show online last fall and got hooked very quickly. The only issue for Syfy will be the sex scenes and the very brief nudity, but hopefully they won’t edit it – just blur it out – or else it messes with the pace of each episode.
