Alphas
The new Syfy series Alphas will debut on July 11 at 10 PM.
The show follows a team of ordinary people with extraordinary mental and physical abilities. Taking the law into their own hands, the unlikely team, led by Dr. Leigh Rosen (David Strathairn) investigates cases that suggest other Alpha activity to uncover what the CIA, FBI and Pentagon have not been able, or willing, to solve. These gifted individuals must balance their quirky personalities and disparate backgrounds with their not always visible powers as they work to solve crimes, stop the ticking time bomb and catch the enemy. Alphas also stars Malik Yoba, Warren Christie, Laura Mennell, Ryan Cartwright and Azita Ghanizada.

I was not thrilled with the Alphas TV show, quite mediocre and boring. I thought the cast of characters did not blend well and they were annoying. The tv shows like Heroes, Sanctuary, Warehouse 13, Leverage, Fringe, Torchwood and others are superior in imagination, character casting and writing. I would rather see the new tv show Three Inches, there cast sounds like an excellent match. I also would like for the three Inches show to be the originally planned 1 hour show. I read it would be reduced to a 1/2 hour show, which is a big mistake. Haven’t heard when the Three Inches tv show will be viewed. Maybe they should bring back Joss Whedon to write new tv shows. There’s a talented guy who has imagination and originality.

Thanks for sharing your opinion, Di. I’m sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy Alphas. I hear that as the series goes along the stories get more interesting, but it’s up to you if you want to tune in again to give it one more try. I have read about Three Inches, it’s very interesting cast and the unusual change from the one-hour to half-hour format. I’m not sure how that will work out to the show’s benefit, though. Time will tell on that account. Joss does have a talent for TV, but I have a feeling – at least for right now – he will be overloaded with The Avengers movie to do any TV; maybe when he is done with that project he will come up with a great new TV project. We shall see, huh?
