It’s time to review the ratings for the cable dramas that aired during the entire month of October.
MONDAYS:
Warehouse 13 – The two-hour finale of the popular Syfy drama aired on October 3, earning 1.6 million viewers. There will be a stand-alone holiday episode of the drama on December 6 with new episodes returning next year.
The Lying Game – The new ABC Family teen drama aired its final three episodes, including the mid-season finale during this time frame. The ratings for each of those episodes are as follows:
October 3 – 1.2 million viewers
October 10 – 1.1 million viewers
October 17 – 1.3 million viewers
This averages out to 1.2 million viewers. The show will be back with the rest of its first season on Monday, January 2 at 9 PM.
TUESDAYS:
Sons of Anarchy – This FX drama aired another four new episodes during the time frame. The ratings for each of those episodes are as follows:
October 4 – 3.5 million viewers
October 11 – 3.6 million viewers
October 18 – 3.7 million viewers
October 25 – 3.8 million viewers
This averages out to 3.7 million viewers. The next new episode will air on Tuesday, November 8 at 10 PM.
WEDNESDAYS:
American Horror Story – The new FX drama debuted on October 5 and the series aired four episodes during the time frame. The ratings for each of those episodes are as follows:
October 5 – 3.2 million viewers
October 12 – 2.5 million viewers
October 19 – 2.6 million viewers
October 26 – 3 million viewers
This averages out to 2.8 million viewers. The next new episode will air on Wednesday, November 9 at 10 PM.
Psych – The popular, long-running dramedy on the USA Network returned for another season, starting on October 12. The ratings for each of those episodes are as follows:
October 12 – 3 million viewers
October 19 – 2.5 million viewers
October 26 – 3.3 million viewers
This averages out to 2.9 million viewers. The next new episode will air on Wednesday, November 9 at 10 PM.
Whitechapel – The BBC America mini-series debuted on October 26, but ratings numbers could not be found for this report. The next new episode will air on Wednesday, November 9 at 10 PM.
FRIDAYS:
Sanctuary – The Syfy series returned for a fourth season on October 7 and it aired four episodes during the time period. The ratings for each of those episodes are as follows:
October 7 – 1.4 million viewers
October 14 – 1.3 million viewers
October 21 – 1.5 million viewers
October 28 – 1.2 million viewers
This averages out to 1.4 million viewers. The next new episode will air on Friday, November 11 at 10 PM.
Boss – The new Starz series stars Kelsey Grammer as the mayor of Chicago, who has been diagnosed with a degenerative neurological disease, but is determined to remain the man in charge. It debuted on October 21 and aired two episodes during the time frame. The ratings for each of those episodes are as follows:
October 21 – 659,000 viewers
October 28 – 391,000 viewers
This averages out to 525,000 viewers. The next new episode will air on Friday, November 11 at 10 PM.
Strike Back – The explosive military-based Cinemax aired its final three episodes during this time period, but ratings could not be located. The show has been renewed for a second season, which will presumably air sometime next year.
SATURDAYS:
Doctor Who – The popular series aired its season finale on October 1 on BBC America, but the ratings could not be found for that episode. A special holiday episode will air in December; but new episodes aren’t schedule until possibly sometime next year.
Bedlam – The supernatural series debuted on BBC America on October and aired five new episodes during the time frame. The final episode aired on November 5.
SUNDAYS:
Against the Wall – The final five episodes of the debut season of the Lifetime police drama aired during this time frame. The ratings for each of those episodes are as follows:
October 2 – 1.5 million viewers
October 9 – 1.6 million viewers
October 16 – 1.3 million viewers
October 23 – 1.4 million viewers (Part 1 of Season Finale)
October 23 – 1.5 million viewers (Conclusion of Season Finale)
This averages out to 1.5 viewers. The show has yet to receive a second season order by Lifetime.
Breaking Bad – The AMC series aired its final two episodes during this time frame. The ratings for each of those episodes are as follows:
October 2 – 1.7 million viewers
October 9 – 1.9 million viewers (Season Finale)
This averages out to 1.8 million viewers. The series will be back sometime next year.
Boardwalk Empire – The HBO series aired another five new episodes during this time frame. The ratings for each of those episodes are as follows:
October 2 – 2.6 million viewers
October 9 – 2.9 million viewers
October 16 – 2.5 million viewers
October 23 – 2.7 million viewers
October 31 – 2.6 million viewers
This averages out to 2.7 million viewers. The next new episode will air tonight – Sunday, November 6 at 9 PM.
Dexter – The Showtime series return for another series of macabre acts against those who deserve it with the premiere airing on October 2. There were five episodes aired during this time and here are the ratings for each of those episodes:
October 2 – 2.2 million viewers
October 9 – 1.7 million viewers
October 16 – 1.5 million viewers
October 23 – 1.9 million viewers
October 31 – 1.8 million viewers
This averages out to 1.8 million viewers. The next new episode will air tonight – Sunday, November 6 at 9 PM.
Homeland – The new military series debut on Showtime on October 6, airing 5 episodes during the time period. The ratings for each of those episodes are as follows:
October 2 – 1.1 million viewers
October 9 – 938,000 viewers
October 16 – 1.1 million viewers
October 23 – 1.1 million viewers
October 31 – 1.3 million viewers
This averages out to 1.1 million viewers. The next new episode will air tonight – Sunday, November 6 at 10 PM.
The Walking Dead – The zombie fest from AMC returned for a second season on October 16 with a 90-minute premiere episode. The series aired three episodes during the time frame and the ratings for each of those episodes are as follows:
October 16 – 7.3 million viewers
October 23 – 6.7 million viewers
October 31 – 6.1 million viewers
This averages out to 6.7 million viewers. The next new episode will air tonight – Sunday, November 6 at 9 PM.
