TELEVISION
Actress Amy Acker (Angel and Dollhouse) will guest star on an upcoming episode of Once Upon a Time, playing a romantic interest for both Grumpy (of the Seven Dwarves) and his surly Storybrooke counterpart, Leroy (Lee Arenberg). Once Upon a Time is back on ABC on Sunday, January 8. (Matt Mitovich at TV Line)
Actor Gary Cole (most recently seen on Chuck) will guest star on the new CW series Hart of Dixie, playing the superstar surgeon who Zoe Hart (Rachel Bilson) believed was her father. Zoe’s dad grew distant from her when she was young after learning that he wasn’t her biological father — something Zoe herself only recently discovered. As a result, their reunion is sure to be a bittersweet one. (Michael Ausiello at TV Line)
Actor Matthew Del Negro (The Sopranos, The United States of Tara) [who has also had a recurring role on Rizzoli & Isles] has landed a recurring role on Ringer. He will play Agent Grady Torrance, who crosses paths with Agent Machado (Nestor Carbonell) and is Machado’s nemesis at the bureau. (Mandi Bierly at Entertainment Weekly)
DEVELOPMENT NEWS
Writer Paul Kolsby, director Steve Shainberg and producer Andrew Lazar are set to team with actress/producer Mariska Hargitay (Law & Order: SVU) for a potential NBC dramedy called American Dream about the inner workings of a reality series. The possible series would revolve around the symbiotic relationship between network executives and the ‘talent’ in a reality television series. (The Futon Critic and Deadline)
