Hey All,

Here are the few news items for today:

TELEVISION

Actress Naturi Naughton (The Playboy Club) has joined the cast of upcoming Lifetime drama series The Client List. The film is based on the 2010 movie, starring Jennifer Love Hewitt as Riley, a Texas housewife who, after being deserted by her husband, ends up running a massage parlor, The Rub, which offers more than back rub. Naughton will play a new character, Kendra, a beautiful, hard-working masseuse at the parlor. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)

BOX OFFICE NEWS

Actor Andrew Walker (Against the Wall) will star in the upcoming thriller Penthouse North that stars Michelle Monaghan as a blind photojournalist who gets caught up in a game of cat-and-mouse with a sadistic criminal (Michael Keaton). He will play her boyfriend. (Variety and Dark Horizons)

Q&A SECTION (with Kristin at E! Online)

Question: Loving Once Upon a Time but one thing is bugging me…when will Emma totally buy into the fairy-verse?! – mrsjmanders

Kristin: If there is one person that could convince Emma (Jennifer Morrison) that all this fairy-tale stuff is true, it’s adorable believer, Henry (Jared Gilmore). And consulting producer Jane Espenson, says their relationship is going to grow even more this season: “This is a woman who’s never thought of herself as nurturing. And suddenly there’s this kid that needs her. You’re going to see later on this season when she starts to realize, she needs him. And that’s a big turn for her.” Is that cagey writer code for “She’ll completely believe in a former fairy-verse” turn? Perhaps.

Question: Any Once Upon a Time spoilers? Something about the Beauty & the Beast episode? – Fotreya

Kristin: Let’s just say that Belle (Emilie de Ravin) and Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) have a very interesting relationship. Speaking of the little creep, did you know he has a son? Yes, really! In the show’s Jan. 8 episode, Rumplestiltskin attempts to track down the ultimate power source in order to help his son avert the horrors of war. Could this have something to do with his baby obsession? Hmm…

Question: Have we seen the last of Sheriff Graham on Once Upon a Time? – Natalievana

Kristin: Why must you bring up our recently deceased fictional boyfriend? And so close to Christmas?! Have you no heart? Yes, we have seen the last of Sheriff Graham (Jamie Dornan), but that doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of the Huntsman, his fairy-tale counterpart.

Question: Anything on The Secret Circle would be great! Specifically anything on the flashback episode. – TSC_Fan2

Kristin: Don’t call it a flashback! When we chatted with Andrew Miller about Secret Circle’s trip down memory lane when the show returns in January, he was quick to point out that these aren’t traditional flashbacks. “I don’t call them flashbacks exactly, but within the first bunch when we get back, we have this obligation to the fans and to the characters to enlighten everyone about what went on 16 years ago.” So, how are they doing the flashbacks? Miller wouldn’t say, but he did tease that they’re “doing it in a really, really cool way.” Color us intrigued!

Question: Secret Circle please?! – Lindsx11

Kristin: Faye (Phoebe Tonkin) is getting a new boy toy! When we brought up Faye’s dry spell to Miller, he assured us the coven’s resident bad witch will be getting a love interest. “Believe me, she’s been love interest-less for too long and that changes immediately in the next episode,” he tells us. So who’s the lucky guy? While Miller wouldn’t give us a specific name, we’re thinking it’s Lee, the mysterious new guy played by Friday Night Lights’ Grey Damon. Miller says, “He’s pretty hot on the show, and he’s a love interest that starts pretty soon.

Question: I’m loving Hart of Dixie! Anything on Zoe and Wade? It would make my entire week!!! – Natasha in San Jose, Calif.

Kristin: Wilson Bethel is definitely in favor of a Zoe (Rachel Bilson) and Wade having happily-ever-after…but they’re not quite there yet. But what matters is what happens in the end, yes? “Between us, I think it’s ultimately fated to be,” Bethel tells us. “Wade will try to have his day!” When he said “between us,” he meant “between you and your readers,” right? Whoops.

Question: Hart of Dixie please?! Anything will do. – Eatherharmon09

Kristin: Wade’s about to get competitive! In an upcoming episode, Wade faces off against waitress Shelley (Deborah S. Craig) in a contest to create the Rammer Jammer’s new signature cocktail! Plus, the Rammer Jammer’s new barback, who happens to be the owner’s niece, is going to be crushing on Wade. Who can blame her?

That’s it. Enjoy!

Sarah Jones

Mid-season programming will be upon us in a few weeks and with that there will be new shows a plenty on the major networks. From those new dramas there will be actors and actresses for whom TV viewers should pay extra attention to because, in my opinion, they are the faces off mid-season.

Those actors and actresses appear below in no particular order:

Dylan Minnette

Sarah Jones – Sarah is the latest ingénue to be chosen by J.J. Abrams for one of his groundbreaking new series. This time around it is the new FOX drama Alcatraz, which centers on a group of missing prisoners and guards who reappear in the present day and chronicles the efforts of a team of FBI agents to track them down and unravel the mystery behind their disappearance thirty years prior. She will star as Rebecca Madsen, a smart, thoughtful and a little obsessive police officer. Sarah has appeared in Sons of Anarchy and Big Love as well as the made-for-TV movies Loves Takes Wing and Love Finds a Home (based on the book series from Janette Oke).

Alcatraz debuts on FOX on January 16 at 8 PM with a two-hour series premiere.

Natasha Calis

Dylan Minnette – Dylan will star as Rex Britten in the new NBC drama Awake alongside Jason Isaacs. Isaacs plays a police detective who regains consciousness following a car accident involving his wife Hannah (Laura Allen) and his son Rex. Michael moves back and forth between two realities: in one, Rex survived while Hannah is dead; in the other, Hannah survived but Rex did not. Dylan has starred in the TV shows Prison Break, Lost, Saving Grace and Men of a Certain Age. He has also appeared in the box office film Let Me In.

Awake has yet to be scheduled by NBC.

Maddie Hasson

Natasha Calis – The new NBC series The Firm, based on the 1993 feature film, picks up 10 years after those events finding lawyer Mitch McDeere (Josh Lucas) coming out of near total isolation after his family has spent a decade in the Federal Witness Protection Program. Natasha will appear as daughter Claire McDeere. Her previous work includes the made-for-TV movies Christmas Caper, Impact, Alice, Held Hostage and Gone. She will be seen in the upcoming box office film The Possession, which will star Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Kyra Sedgwick.

The Firm will air its two-hour premiere on NBC on January 8 at 9 PM.

Megan Hilty

Maddie HassonThe Finder is the new FOX series that is a spin-off from Bones centering on Walter Sherman (Geoff Stults), a remarkable man with an eccentric personality and a unique gift to help others recover what they’ve lost. Maddie will star as Willa Monday, who was raised to be a criminal by her extended family of gypsies but now on probation and under the protection of Walter’s brother-in-arms Leo (Michael Clarke Duncan); and they on occasion use her hard-gained skills in their own work. Maddie is a relative newcomer with one small role in an independent film called God Bless America.

The Finder will debut on FOX on January 12 at 9 PM.

Katharine McPhee

Megan Hilty and Katharine McPhee – Both ladies will star in the new NBC musical drama Smash that takes a behind-the-scenes look at how a Broadway musical – based on the life of Marilyn Monroe – is put together from the ground up. Megan will star as tough Broadway veteran Ivy Lynn who is the obvious choice for the lead role; but enter Karen Cartwright (McPhee), a young girl from Iowa with a dream of making it on Broadway who walks in and blows everyone away. Megan has appeared on Broadway in Wicked and 9 to 5: The Musical as well as guest appearances in TV shows such as The Closer, Desperate Housewives, Eli Stone and Bones. Whereas, Katharine was the runner-up in the American Idol competition in 2006 and appeared in the box office films The House Bunny, You May Not Kiss the Bride and Shark Night 3D.

Erica Dasher

Erica Dasher – Jane by Design is a new, light-hearted drama about Jane Quimby (Dasher), a teenager who lands a job at Donovan Decker, a hip fashion house, when they mistake her for an adult. Jane soon finds herself juggling life both as a regular high school student and as an assistant to a high powered executive in the cutthroat world of fashion… all while trying to keep her true identity a secret. Erica is a relative newcomer, but she did appear in the web series The Lake.

Jane by Design is set to debut on ABC Family on January 3 at 9 PM.

Joe Anderson

Joe Anderson – Joe will star in the new ABC drama The River as Lincoln, the son of famed explorer and nature show star Dr. Emmet Cole (Bruce Greenwood) who went looking for magic deep in the uncharted Amazon and never returned. Six months after he vanished, his emergency beacon goes off and a team, including Lincoln and his mother, set out to attempt to track him down. Dichen appeared in the Australian soap opera Neighbours and then landed a role in the short-lived Joss Whedon series Dollhouse.
