The Knights of the Round Table

The fourth season of Merlin will be back on Syfy this Friday, January 6 at 10 PM with a breathtaking reminder of the continued power of the evil Morgana (Katie McGrath). Her betrayal of her father, King Uther (Anthony Head), and his kingdom brought the previous season to a memorable action-packed close. It doesn’t get any easier for Prince Arthur (Bradley James) and Merlin (Colin Morgan), finding the heroic pair seeking to halt her treachery while realizing their own fabled destinies.

One element from the Camelot mythos, the most iconic creation – the Knights of the Round Table – will be featured in the upcoming season, adding new dimensions in storytelling and character development with Lancelot (Santiago Cabrera), Gwaine (Eoin Macken), Perceval (Tom Hopper), Leon (Rupert Young), Elyan (Adetomiwa Edun) joining the recurring cast.

With the addition of new heroes, there will be more villains too. Morgana adds a new powerful ally in Agravaine (Nathaniel Parker), Arthur’s uncle who has come to help rule as the condition of his brother Uther continues to weaken.

There will also be plenty of guest stars making an appearance throughout the fourth season, including James Callis (Battlestar Galactica), Philip Davis (Vera Drake), Lindsay Duncan (Alice in Wonderland), Melanie Hall (Stardust) and Gary Lewis (Billy Elliott).

A fifth season of Merlin has already been commissioned by the BBC and will air on Syfy in 2013, but for now make sure to tune in for the new season starting at 10 PM this Friday, January 6 on Syfy.
