TELEVISION
Actors Chris O’Donnell and LL Cool J will be making a crossover appearance from their show NCIS: Los Angeles to Hawaii Five-0; this will actually be an “exciting May sweeps two-night crossover event. The crossover “stunt” will first take place on Hawaii Five-0 and then roll over to NCIS: Los Angeles. (William Keck at TV Guide)
BOX OFFICE NEWS
Actor James Badge Dale (24 and Rubicon) is the frontrunner to join the cast of the box office film The Lone Ranger, playing the older brother of the title character (played by Armie Hammer) Dan Reid is an ex-ranger and hero of the Old West. (Mike Fleming at Deadline)
Up-and-comer actor Douglas Booth (to be seen in the upcoming films Great Expectations and LOL) and Billy Crudup (Watchmen) are set to star in the box office film Life at These Speeds that is based on the novel by Jeremy Jackson. The story follows a rural teenager (Booth) who loses his best friends in a tragic accident and channels his survivor’s guilt into an addiction to running. Along the way he becomes a world-class distance runner. Crudup will co-star as Booth’s coach and confidante. (Variety and Dark Horizons)
Young actress Isabelle Fuhrman (Orphan and the upcoming The Hunger Games) is in negotiations to join the M. Night Shyamalan sci-fi action adventure flick called After Earth that is set to star Will and Jaden Smith as a father and son who crash-land on Earth a millennia after mankind has abandoned the planet. The crash leaves the elder Smith badly injured, and it’s up to the boy to find help in what is now a strange and dangerous place. Zoe Kravitz and Sophie Okonedo also star.
