The new drama Arrow will debut on The CW on October 10 at 8 PM.
After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his family and best friend welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was; and so, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory.
The cast includes Colin Donnell, Katie Cassidy, David Ramsey, Willa Holland and Susanna Thompson.

Hmmm. I have very mixed emotions. In general. I don’t like comic-booky shows and movies, but the archery may suck me in, it was the sport of choice in my family for many years. The problem with knowing it so well, though, is that in most productions I can tell just from the actor’s form that they would be lucky to hit the broad side of a barn. I expect I’ll watch at least one episode then decide.
Thanks, Lee Ann.
I’ve seen the debut episode about 4 times since July and REALLY liked it. Stephen, the star of the show, shared at a Paley Center event that he trained with a pro, but that, yes, they use CGI for the detailing of Arrow’s skill; but I think they do a great job of blending it together. And, while the show is based on the comic book character, the EP’s behind the show have stressed they are keeping it grounded in real world stories. I have high hopes for the show and the country’s top critics seem to believe the same thing since Arrow has been on the top list of their choices for best show of the fall. Fingers crossed.
