Babys First Christmas

On December 15, the Hallmark Channel movie Baby’s First Christmas will debut at 8 PM.

When a pair of feuding colleagues, Kyle (Casper Van Dien from Starship Troopers) and Jenna (Rachel Wilson from Republic of Doyle) are thrown together after their siblings, Jim (Noah Cappe from The Good Witch TV movies) and Trisha (Natalie Lisinska from Total Recall) fall in love, they have to learn to get along in time for their nephew’s birth on Christmas. Realizing Jim and Trisha have major money troubles, Kyle and Jenna band together to help and end up on a snowy New York adventure that will prove miracles really do happen at Christmas.

The Real St. Nick

On December 15, the Lifetime movie The Real St. Nick will debut at 8 PM.

Torrey Devito (Pretty Little Liars and The Vampire Diaries) stars as psychiatrist Kate, who attends to a handsome but unconscious man in a Santa Claus suit who saved her during an earthquake. When he awakens and insists he is Santa Claus, he is placed in the hospital’s psychiatric wing, where his Christmas spirit soon “infects” everyone in the ward and Kate can’t help falling for the man even before she finds out his real identity.

The movie co-stars Callard Harris (Dallas).

Here are the news items for today:

TELEVISION

Actress Gina Torres (Suits) will make a guest appearance on an upcoming episode of Castle, which, of course, stars her former Firefly castmate Nathan Fillion. Torres will play Samantha Foster, a successful fashion mogul who comes off as ruthless and fierce on a Real Housewives-esque reality show. (Matt Mitovich at TV Line)

Actor Robert Patrick (Last Resort) has signed on to be a series regular on True Blood when it returns for its sixth season on HBO. He plays Alcide’s (Joe Manganiello) dad. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)

Actress Sarah Jane Morris (Brothers & Sisters and NCIS) will guest star in an upcoming episode of Body of Proof, which is set to return for its new season on February 5. She will play Pamela Jacks, a flight attendant who figures prominently in the wake of an airline tragedy. (Matt Mitovich at TV Line)

DEVELOPMENT NEWS

FX has picked up their next new project called Tyrant that revolves around an unassuming American family who is thrust into the turbulence of the Middle East. (Stuart Levine at Variety)

Actress Eliza Dushku (Buffy and Dollhouse) will star opposite British actor Adam Rayner in The Saint, a backdoor pilot that takes on new look at the classic fictional character of Simon Templar (Rayner), a brilliant criminal who uses his considerable illicit skills as a modern day Robin Hood. He will infuriate local law enforcement and woo Patricia Holm (Dushku), his on-again, off-again romance. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)

TV Ratings

The major networks were filled with sports, animation and Christmas special so there was very little programming from which to choose last night, but here is how the one drama that aired last night as well as a new holiday movie fared in the overall ratings:

Here is a list of the programming options to expect on TV this week:

Syfy will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a two-hour special on December 10 at 9 PM.

On December 11, the mid-season finale of Hart of Dixie will air on The CW at 8 PM.

Arrow will air its mid-season finale on The CW at 8 PM on December 12.

The second part of the Sundance Channel mini-series Restless will debut on December 14 at 9 PM.

On December 15, the Hallmark Channel movie Baby’s First Christmas will debut at 8 PM while The Real St. Nick movie will debut on Lifetime movie at 8 PM the same night.

The Lifetime movie Merry-In-Laws will debut on December 16 at 9 PM.

On December 16, the 2-hour Royal Pains holiday movie will air on the USA Network at 9 PM.

The season finales of both Dexter and Homeland will air on Showtime at 9 and 10 PM respectively on December 16.

And also on December 16, Christmas Twister is a new movie that will debut on ION at 7 PM.
