As anyone who has a television set and access to the internet knows, Downton Abbey became an international sensation nearly overnight, racking up scores of fans all over the globe and amassing some pretty incredible ratings.
Now, it seems that Australia just might have the next best thing to Downton Abbey in the form of the 1950s mystery melodrama called A Place To Call Home that was created by Bevan Lee and the producers of the Australian TV shows Packed to the Rafters and Winners & Losers.
The only problem right now is that A Place To Call Home is expected to air in Australia only this Easter (yes, next weekend!), but let’s all keep our fingers crossed that the American TV gods will wise up fast and claim this mini-series for our side of the pond so we can enjoy watching it too.
In the meantime, here is a trailer for A Place To Call Home.
