Q&A SECTION (with Sandra Gonzalez at Entertainment Weekly)
Question: Did I see mermaids in that Once Upon a Time in Wonderland trailer? AMAZING! Any chance we’ll see THE most important mermaid Ariel next season?? — Holli
Sandra: It’s up in the air according to EPs Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. “Obviously Neverland brings up mermaids and it brings up fairies,” says Kitsis. “We have ideas for Ariel. When we introduce her is up in the air because we’re still figuring out what we want to do. There’s a possibility we’ll see her.” Horowitz adds that she’s “one of our favorite characters” and “if and when we do it, we just want to make sure we do it right.” One thing you can count on? Her story will very much follow the Once model — surprises on top of surprises. “The thing that we love to do and that we will continue to do is, we do love to be able to say, here’s the backstory of an iconic character, but it’s not what you think,” Kitsis says. “So for Beauty and the Beast, we realized the beast was Rumpelstiltskin. And we realized Bae was with the Darlings, and that Red Riding Hood was the wolf. We still want to be able to show you our versions of things, and of course Ariel is at the top of the list.”
Question: Any Psych scoop?! — Lizzie
Sandra: The upcoming season finale is going to shake up the precinct in a way that will make you wonder exactly how next season will unfold. Specifically, someone might be exiting the PD with a box of their belongings in-hand!
Question: Falling Skies?! — Tara
Sandra: Glad you asked! Because as we prepare for the June 9th premiere, executive producer Remi Aubuchon reveals that the third season will be about “figuring out at what cost victory is.” “We begin with the 2nd Mass and the humans winning, and we’re winning because we have allied ourselves with another set of aliens. And part of what we wanted to kind of explore this season in a very sort of general way was how does that change things.” He adds: “I think, in some ways, the story is a little more complex this season in that it doesn’t depend on just one conflict. There’s many conflicts that are established within this third season.”
Question: Any Teen Wolf scoopage! I saw some people got screeners! — Michelle
Sandra: I, indeed, have the first episode in my grasp. What I can tell you? Lydia is cured!…of the heartache caused by the departure of Jackson. Well, rather, she’s getting there. How? Lots of ***! Elsewhere, despite Scott and Allison’s desire to ignore each other at every cost, they do have an encounter early on in the episode. Call it fate — or a deer.
That’s it. Enjoy!
Have a terrific weekend
NOTE: I will be back with an update on Tuesday, as I’ll be busy all weekend, rolling over into Monday.
