Hey All,

Here are the news items for today, as there wasn’t any news of note from yesterday:

TELEVISION

Good news/Bad news: Syfy has renewed Warehouse 13 for a fifth season that will consist of only 6 episodes as that will be the show’s final season. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)

BOX OFFICE NEWS

Actor Colin Firth will star in the upcoming spy thriller called A Foreign Country based on the Charles Cumming novel that follows a disgraced MI6 officer called Thomas Kell. (Screen Daily and Dark Horizons)

Q&A SECTION (with Sandra Gonzalez at Entertainment Weekly)

Question: Did I see mermaids in that Once Upon a Time in Wonderland trailer? AMAZING! Any chance we’ll see THE most important mermaid Ariel next season?? — Holli

Sandra: It’s up in the air according to EPs Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. “Obviously Neverland brings up mermaids and it brings up fairies,” says Kitsis. “We have ideas for Ariel. When we introduce her is up in the air because we’re still figuring out what we want to do. There’s a possibility we’ll see her.” Horowitz adds that she’s “one of our favorite characters” and “if and when we do it, we just want to make sure we do it right.” One thing you can count on? Her story will very much follow the Once model — surprises on top of surprises. “The thing that we love to do and that we will continue to do is, we do love to be able to say, here’s the backstory of an iconic character, but it’s not what you think,” Kitsis says. “So for Beauty and the Beast, we realized the beast was Rumpelstiltskin. And we realized Bae was with the Darlings, and that Red Riding Hood was the wolf. We still want to be able to show you our versions of things, and of course Ariel is at the top of the list.”

Question: Any Psych scoop?! — Lizzie

Sandra: The upcoming season finale is going to shake up the precinct in a way that will make you wonder exactly how next season will unfold. Specifically, someone might be exiting the PD with a box of their belongings in-hand!

Question: Falling Skies?! — Tara

Sandra: Glad you asked! Because as we prepare for the June 9th premiere, executive producer Remi Aubuchon reveals that the third season will be about “figuring out at what cost victory is.” “We begin with the 2nd Mass and the humans winning, and we’re winning because we have allied ourselves with another set of aliens. And part of what we wanted to kind of explore this season in a very sort of general way was how does that change things.” He adds: “I think, in some ways, the story is a little more complex this season in that it doesn’t depend on just one conflict. There’s many conflicts that are established within this third season.”

Question: Any Teen Wolf scoopage! I saw some people got screeners! — Michelle

Sandra: I, indeed, have the first episode in my grasp. What I can tell you? Lydia is cured!…of the heartache caused by the departure of Jackson. Well, rather, she’s getting there. How? Lots of ***! Elsewhere, despite Scott and Allison’s desire to ignore each other at every cost, they do have an encounter early on in the episode. Call it fate — or a deer.

That’s it. Enjoy!

Have a terrific weekend

NOTE: I will be back with an update on Tuesday, as I’ll be busy all weekend, rolling over into Monday.

John Edwards
Mr. Darcy’s Ardent Love
Released on October 2, 2012

Mr. Darcy only needed a few hours in the coach leaving Netherfield to regret his earlier decision. He and his friend’s sisters had convinced Mr. Bingley to leave Netherfield, telling him that Miss Jane Bennet did not show in her countenance any signs of sincere affection toward him. Darcy believed he would be safe from Miss Elizabeth Bennet, Jane’s younger sister, if he was physically removed from Netherfield. Now Darcy saw her everywhere and longed for her as he had never done before with any other woman. While coming into Kent to visit his aunt at Rosings, Darcy learned that Elizabeth was staying nearby at the parsonage in Hunsford. He saw this as a sign that God had willed her presence and that he could propose to her and thus end his suffering. A fortunate stumble at Rosings Park convinced him that Elizabeth’s affections were absent. Soon he would have a second chance to win her heart. Neither Darcy nor Elizabeth understood the depth of each other’s regard for the other, but despite circumstances that were working against them, other events soon would change everything between Elizabeth and Darcy.

An Unforgiving Temper by Gail Head

Gail Head
An Unforgiving Temper
Released on February 14, 2011

This book tells the captivating story of what Darcy and Elizabeth’s journey might have been if Elizabeth never went to Pemberley; if Fitzwilliam Darcy was not the only one with an unforgiving temper and what if the events in Ramsgate ended in an explosive conflict that set their course in another direction filled with implacable resentment and a rapacious thirst for revenge?

Syrie James

Samantha McDonough cannot believe her eyes–or her luck. Tucked in an uncut page of a two-hundred-year old poetry book is a letter she believes was written by Jane Austen, mentioning with regret a manuscript that “went missing at Greenbriar in Devonshire.” Could there really be an undiscovered Jane Austen novel waiting to be found? Could anyone resist the temptation to go looking for it? Making her way to the beautiful, centuries-old Greenbriar estate, Samantha finds it no easy task to sell its owner, the handsome yet uncompromising Anthony Whitaker, on her wild idea of searching for a lost Austen work–until she mentions its possible million dollar value. After discovering the unattributed manuscript, Samantha and Anthony are immediately absorbed in the story of Rebecca Stanhope, daughter of a small town rector, who is about to encounter some bittersweet truths about life and love. As they continue to read the newly discovered tale from the past, a new one unfolds in the present–a story that just might change both of their lives forever.

Lovely and vivacious, she is everything he is not, and everything he longs to have. Unfortunately, her connections put her decidedly beneath him, and the improprieties he observes in her family do not win his favor. Putting her firmly out of his mind, Darcy returns to London, but Elizabeth is not so easily forgotten. When chance throws them together, Darcy can no longer deny his love, but Elizabeth, put off by his manners, refuses him. To change her mind, he must set aside his proud ways and learn how to please a woman worthy of being pleased.

New Fall Dramas:

The Originals – This is the spin-off of The Vampire Diaries about the Original Vampire family: the Mikaelsons. When Klaus, the original vampire-werewolf hybrid, receives a mysterious tip that a plot is brewing against him New Orleans, he returns to the city his family helped build. Klaus’ questions lead him to a reunion with his diabolical former protégé, Marcel, a charismatic vampire who has total control over the human and supernatural inhabitants of the city. Determined to help his brother find redemption, Elijah follows Klaus and soon learns that the werewolf Hayley has also come to the French Quarter searching for clues to her family history, and has fallen into the hands of a powerful witch named Sophie. Tensions between the town’s supernatural factions are nearing a breaking point as Marcel commands his devoted followers and rules with absolute power. For Klaus, the thought of answering to his powerful protégé is unthinkable, and he vows to reclaim what was once his – the power, the city and his family. While they wait to see if their sister Rebekah will leave Mystic Falls and join them, Klaus and Elijah form an uneasy alliance with the witches to ensure that New Orleans will be ruled by The Originals once again. The cast includes Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, Claire Holt, Charles Michael Davis, Daniella Pineda, Phoebe Tonkin, Leah Pipes and Danielle Campbell. From Julie Plec, Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo.

The Tomorrow People – They are the next evolutionary leap of mankind, a generation of humans born with paranormal abilities. Stephen Jameson stands at the crossroads between the world we know and the shifting world of the future. Up until a year ago, Stephen was a “normal” teenager – until he began hearing voices and teleporting in his sleep, never knowing where he might wake up. Now, Stephen’s issues have gone far beyond the usual teenage angst, and he is beginning to question his sanity. In desperation, Stephen decides to listen to one of the voices in his head, and it leads him to his first encounter with the Tomorrow People – John, Cara and Russell – a genetically advanced race with the abilities of telekinesis, teleportation and telepathic communication. The cast includes Robbie Amell (cousin of Stephen Amell on Arrow), Luke Mitchell, Peyton List, Aaron Yoo, Mark Pellegrino and Madeline Mantock. From Julie Plec and Greg Berlanti (among others).

Reign – Hidden between the lines of the history books is the story of Mary Stuart, the young woman the world would come to know as Mary, Queen of Scots. Queen of Scotland since she was six days old, the teenage Mary is already a headstrong monarch – beautiful, passionate, and poised at the very beginning of her tumultuous rise to power. Arriving in France with four close friends as her ladies-in-waiting, Mary has been sent to secure Scotland’s strategic alliance by formalizing her arranged engagement to the French king’s dashing son, Prince Francis. But the match isn’t signed and sealed, it depends more on politics, religion and secret agendas than affairs of the heart. Prince Francis is intrigued by the fiery Scot, but like most young men, he resists the idea of settling down into marriage, especially when he has a history with a lady of the court and his own point of view on the wisdom of an alliance with Scotland. The cast includes Adelaide Kane, Toby Regbo, Torrance Coombs, Megan Follows, Alan Van Sprang, Celina Sinden, Caitlin Stasey, Anna Popplewell and Jenessa Grant. From Stephanie SenGupta, Laurie McCarthy, Frank Siracusa and Brad Silberling.

New Mid-Season Dramas:

Star-Crossed – When Emery was 6 years old, an alien spacecraft crash-landed in her small town. Whether they came in peace or with more sinister intentions didn’t matter: a fierce battle erupted as humans fought for control over their new rivals, an alien species called the Atrians. In the midst of the conflict, Roman, a 6-year-old Atrian boy, found his way to a shed behind Emery’s house, where she protected him from harm, bringing him food, comfort – and friendship. In their brief time together, Emery and Roman forged a deep bond, but the authorities wasted no time tracking Roman down and capturing him in a violent confrontation. Emery has grown up believing that Roman was killed that day. Ten years later, the Atrians have been acclimated to life on Earth, but they are interned in a heavily-guarded camp known as the Sector to keep them separate from humans. Now, for the first time, a group of Atrian teens will enroll in a suburban human high school, with the goal of testing the feasibility of human/alien integration. The eyes of the nation and the whole world are fixed on this historical social experiment, an endeavor fraught with suspicion and fear. The series stars Aimee Teegarden, Matt Lanter, Grey Damon, Natalie Hall, Malese Jow, Titus Makin, Jr., Chelsea Gilligan and Greg Finley. From Meredith Averill, Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec (among others).

The 100 – Ninety-seven years ago, nuclear Armageddon decimated planet Earth, destroying civilization. The only survivors were the 400 inhabitants of 12 international space stations that were in orbit at the time. Three generations have been born in space, the survivors now number 4,000, and resources are running out on their dying “Ark” – the 12 stations now linked together and repurposed to keep the survivors alive. Draconian measures including capital punishment and population control are the order of the day, as the leaders of the Ark take ruthless steps to ensure their future, including secretly exiling a group of 100 juvenile prisoners to the Earth’s surface to test whether it’s habitable. The cast includes newcomer Eliza Taylor, Paige Turco, Thomas McDonell, Eli Goree, Marie Avgeropoulos, newcomer Bob Morley, Kelly Hu, Christopher Larkin, Devon Bostick, Isaiah Washington and Henry Ian Cusick. Based on the upcoming book by Kass Morgan, this is from Matthew Miller, Jason Rothenberg and Bharat Nalluri (among others).

BOX OFFICE TRAILERS

Watch: Vin Diesel is a Tough Man to Beat in New Trailer for ‘Riddick’

Shake Your Tail Feather with First Musical Teaser Trailer for ‘Rio 2’

Q&A SECTION (with Natalie Abrams and Adam Bryant at TV Guide)

Question: Any last bits of scoop on the Hawaii Five-0 finale? — Jessica

ADAM: Like last year, the finale will explore all of the team members’ personal issues separately. “We’re going to touch on some questions we’ve had for a while,” executive producer Peter Lenkov says. “Is there more going on between Wo Fat and Doris than we know? What happened the night Michael Noshimuri took Kono’s gun? … [These] are issues that need resolutions. Some of our characters are going to have to make tough choices.” How tough? By the finale’s end, somebody will likely be dead. “The English translation of our finale title is “farewell and take care. You can take want you want from that,” Lenkov teases.

Question: I can’t believe Irene Adler is alive! Got any scoop on the Elementary finale? —Anne

NATALIE: If you’re thinking that the reunion between Sherlock and Irene will be a wholly joyous one, think again. Sherlock will make a surprising, uncharacteristic decision about Irene’s captor.

Question: What can you tell me about the Bates Motel finale? — Brad

ADAM: Norma will struggle to come up with Abernathy’s money before his deadline. So Norman will somehow come to her rescue, right? Maybe not. But Norman’s conspicuous absence won’t actually damage the too-close mother-son relationship. “They’re moving into their separate worlds, but the finale brings them back together, and they both openly reveal stuff about each other that forces them to reconnect and reassert their relationship,” Freddie Highmore tells us. “It’s like an elastic band. No matter how much you stretch [the relationship], it doesn’t snap.”

Question: Ack! Monroe has Nora. What’s going to happen on Revolution? — Ben

NATALIE: Suffice it to say, Nora being in Monroe’s custody is not a good thing, but according to Daniella Alonso, she may use her plight to her advantage. “Even though she’s chained up and has a lot of guards on her, she does her best to try to kill him,” she says. And worry not, though we’ll see moments of weakness, Alonso assures us that there’s no way Nora will be turned to the militia’s side.

Question: What can you tease about this beast-on-beast fight in the Beauty and the Beast finale? — Marion

ADAM: It’s not exactly a fair fight. “Now that Vincent has been taking medication his strength is weakened,” Jay Ryan tells us. “So at the beginning of the fight he doesn’t have his beast qualities and he has to refer back to his military training.” Gabe, meanwhile, is quite a scary contender. He will show us just how vicious the original beast that Muirfield created can be.

Question: I’m so excited about the return of Falling Skies. What’s coming up? — Micah

NATALIE: When it appears that the aliens have a mole within the 2nd Mass, Tom enlists Manchester to track down him/her/it — a job that will have dangerous consequences. With a new, surprising Overlord in place, the mole’s identity will be a huge shocker.

Question: Any word on when Nick’s mother might be returning to Grimm? —Amanda

Ausiello: “There will be references” to the Woman in Black in next Tuesday’s finale, per David Giuntoli. “There will be communiqués involved. I’m not sure in what capacity she’ll be back next season, but I’ve been ‘hearing things.’” (I have too; she’ll be back). Speaking of the finale, Giuntoli offers up the following teases: “There are going to be zombies; one of the main characters kinda-sorta dies and may or may not be coming back; and Nick and Juliet – romance!”

Question: Any information on Once Upon a Time‘s casting of Peter Pan? —George

Ausiello: The role of Peter Pan will be played by… a dude! “I can confirm that it will be a male playing the part,” exec producer Adam Horowitz tells TVLine. Beyond that, “Anything to do with that casting we don’t want to talk about, because that would be a big spoiler. Our approach to Peter Pan is one we’re super-excited about. Since Season 1, the Peter Pan mythology was something we wanted to do, but we couldn’t because of the rights issues. Once they were dealt with, we were able to finally go to town and open that world up. We started with Captain Hook, and we knew we wanted to build to what we’re about to do in Season 3.”

Question: How about a scoop on the Nashville finale? —Missi

Ausiello: “It’s bloody,” reports Sam Palladio, all but confirming reports of multiple season-ending deaths. “It’s shocking, actually. When I read the script, it made me go, ‘Wh-wh-whoa! Wow!’ I can’t wait to see the episode.”

Question: Any Veronica Mars movie spoilers?! — Ted

Ausiello: Before the flick goes into production, it’s looking to cast… well, Rebel Wilson, basically. For the juicy supporting role of Ruby, the powers that be want a plus-sized (check) funny lady (check) who can do a British accent (check). Rebel, you can drop my commission check (check) in the mail.

Question: Please tell me you got some Revolution scoop out of the NBC upfront. Something, anything? — Kyle

Ausiello: Not only did Matt Mitovich score you some scoop, he scored it directly from Giancarlo Esposito, who told him, through the finale, “Tom’s next move is to try and cover his own butt, first. But also, there is a race to figure out who really is in control of the power. The final episode will blow your mind in terms of all of the elements coming together, and some questions you haven’t even thought of asking will be answered.”

That’s it. Enjoy!
