Here is a list of the programming options to expect on TV this week:
On June 24, the new summer series Under the Dome, based on the Stephen King novel, will debut on CBS at 10 PM. The series is based on the Stephen King best-selling novel about a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by a massive transparent dome. The cast includes Aisha Hinds (Cult), Britt Robertson (The Secret Circle and Life Unexpected), Colin Ford (Supernatural), Dean Norris (Breaking Bad), Jolene Purdy (Gigantic), Mike Vogel (Pan Am), Natalie Martinez (CSI: NY), Nicholas Strong (Nashville), Rachelle Lefevre (Twilight franchise) and Jeff Fahey (Lost).
The new season of Rizzoli & Isles will premiere on TNT on June 25 at 9 PM followed by the second season oremiere of Perception at 10 PM.
On June 29, the Hallmark Channel movie Banner 4th of July will debut at 9 PM. Desiree Banner (Brooke White) may own her own record company but she has struggled to find her perfect melody since leaving the band she once headlined with her brothers Mitchell (Christian Campbell) and Johnny (Michael Barbuto). Her departure from the band, The Banners Project, led her into a marriage that was doomed to fail and deeply damaged her relationship with Mitchell, whom she has avoided for the past ten years. Nevertheless, when Desiree’s mother, Rosalind (Mercedes Ruehl), suffers a heart attack, Desiree and Mitchell rush home and join their brother Johnny to be by her side. Rosalind, however, has ulterior motives for bringing her children together: she hopes that a Fourth of July reunion concert of The Banners Project will save their hometown from bankruptcy. Despite Desiree, Mitchell and Johnny’s initial protests, The Banners Project is the last hope for the struggling town as the Banner siblings must put their family feud aside and find harmony both on and offstage.
That same night, the remaining episodes of the defunct series Do No Harm will begin to air on NBC at 10 PM.
Also on June 29, the Lifetime movie Anna Nicole will debut at 8 PM. Agnes Bruckner (Private Practice) will star as Anna Nicole Smith in the made-for-TV film that follows the swift rise and fall of Vickie Lynn Hogan (Anna Nicole), a Texas high school dropout and single mother with dreams of a better life. The film also stars Martin Landau, Virginia Madsen, Adam Goldberg and Cary Elwes.
Dexter will return to Showtime for its final season starting tonight on June 30at 9 PM followed by the debut of the new drama Ray Donovan at 10 PM. In Ray Donovan, Liev Schreiber appears as Ray Donovan, LA’s best professional fixer, who is the man called in to make the city’s celebrities, superstar athletes’ and business moguls’ most complicated and combustible situations go away; but when his father, Mickey Donovan (Jon Voight) is unexpectedly released from prison, that sets off a chain of events that shakes the Donovan family to its core. The cast also includes Dash Mihok (The Day After Tomorrow), Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes), Katherine Moennig (Three Rivers), Paula Malcomson (Caprica), Peter Jacobson (House) and Steven Bauer.
On June 30, the Masterpiece Mystery mini-series Inspector Lewis, Series VI will air another new episode at 9 PM on PBS. In this episode entitled “Intelligent Design” Lewis and Hathaway are called in to examine the brutal death of a chemistry professor — recently released from prison — who may be connected to the discovery of a murdered Oxford student lost for 15 years. As more casualties and suspects emerge, Lewis considers his future on the force.
