Actress Mena Suvari will have a recurring role on the NBC drama Chicago Fire, playing Isabella, a close friend of Dawson (Monica Raymond) who is enlisted to help Mouch (Christian Stolte) with his campaign as President of the Chicago Firefighters Union. ABC is developing a drama project called Forever from former Chuck executive producer Matthew Miller. The project centers on Dr. Henry Morgan, the most over-qualified pathology associate in the world who has experienced it all — wars, love, even smallpox and malaria — but there is one feat that he can’t seem to accomplish: dying. Morgan is a 200-year-old man who spends his days working in the New York City Morgue trying to find a key to unlock the curse of his immortality. His investigative work with hard-nosed NYPD detective Jo Martinez will reveal elements of Morgan’s colorful life. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)
MADE-FOR-TV MOVIE NEWS
Actress Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men) and newcomer Mason Dye will play the lead roles in the Lifetime original movie Flowers In The Attic based on the best-selling novel by V.C. Andrews that tells the gothic tale of four young siblings, two boys and two girls, who, after the tragic death of their father, are subjected to cruel emotional and physical abuse resulting from a dark, long-hidden family secret. Abandoned by their mother (Heather Graham) and forced to endure unimaginable treatment living in the attic of their grandparents’ mansion, the children form a family unit of their own. But as the oldest boy (Dye) and girl (Shipka) come of age emotionally and physically while caring for their younger brother and sister, their family’s sordid past entraps them further as they try to survive and escape from the harsh conditions in which they live. Actresses Elizabeth Banks and Chloe Sevigny and actor Josh Lucas have joined the cast of the independent film Little Accidents, which is about a 14-year old boy who disappears in an American coal town that has already seen its share of tragedy after a mining accident. The disappearance draws together three local residents from very different walks of life to struggle to navigate the web of secrets surrounding the boy’s death, unaware of how connected they truly are. Actor Sam Trammell (True Blood) will play the father to the character to be played by Shailene Woodley in the upcoming box office film The Fault in Our Stars, which is based on the John Green best-selling novel that follows two cancer-stricken teens (Woodley and Ansel Elgort) who strike up a romantic relationship as they face an uncertain future.
