Actress Nia Long (Third Watch and House of Lies) has joined the first scripted series from WE TV. The legal thriller called The Divide will center on District Attorney Adam Page (Damon Gupton), who uncovers new evidence that prompts the re-investigation of a sensational murder case. DEVELOPMENT NEWS
Actor Shaun Toub (Homeland) has joined the cast of the NBC pilot Tin Man, which is a futuristic thriller set in the near future, centering on a robot (Patrick Heusinger from Royal Pains) accused of first-degree murder who may hold the key to the future of human evolution, and the female public defender forced to fight for his cause. Toub will play David Dashiell, the CFO for Valence, a multitrillion-dollar corporation that designs and sells cutting-edge robots. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)
Actress Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer) is coming back to TNT, but only on a behind-the-scenes basis in supernatural medical drama project called Proof. The project will center on a skeptical, hard science, female surgeon who’s struggled with family issues including a tragic death. She is persuaded to investigate cases of reincarnation, out-of-body experiences, haunting, looking for verifiable proof, to try to answer one of life’s greatest questions: Is death truly the end, or is there something … beyond? Actress Toni Collette (Hostages) and actor Jack Reynor (the upcoming Transformers movie) will star in the upcoming box office film Pilgrim Hill that follows a young taxi driver (Reynor) who gets tangled up in the world of human trafficking while trying to save his mother (Collette) from addiction. Actress Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) has landed the coveted role of Sarah Connor in the reboot of the legendary Terminator franchise. (Dave McNary at Variety)
