Hey All,

Here are the news items for today:

TELEVISION

Fan-favorite actor-comedian Patton Oswalt (Justified and the animated film Ratatouille) will guest star in an upcoming episode of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, playing Agent Eric Koenig, who was part of Nick Fury’s team of World War II soldiers in the original Marvel comics. (James Hibberd at Entertainment Weekly)

While it hasn’t been confirmed by the USA Network, White Collar will probably be ending after its upcoming sixth season, which will consist of only six episodes. Meanwhile, the network has picked up two pilots to series. The first is Rush, a fast-paced Hollywood drama centered on Dr. William Rush (Tom Ellis), who is not your average on-call doctor. He is highly discreet no matter what the ailment, as long as the client can pay his cash-only premium, and the doctor can party with the best of them. He has no desire to change his life or how he lives it, until an old flame and his conscience begin to stir things up. The other is Complications, which centers on John Ellis (Jason O’Mara), a disillusioned suburban ER doctor who finds his existence transformed when he intervenes in a drive-by shooting, saving a young boy’s life and killing one of his attackers. When Ellis learns the boy is still marked for death, he finds himself compelled to save him at any cost and discovers that his own life, and his outlook on medicine, may never be the same. Both shows will have 10 episodes. The network also recently picked up two other dramas, the untitled drama that will star The Glades actor Matt Passmore and the upcoming event series Dig that will star Jason Isaacs and Anne Heche. (Sadie Genis at TV Guide, Nellie Andreeva at Deadline and Philiana Ng at The Hollywood Reporter)

Actor Kevin McKidd (Grey’s Anatomy) will guest star in an upcoming episode of the TNT series Franklin & Bash, playing a man named Albert Daugherty, who is also the Duke of Weddington, who crosses paths with the lawyers after he finds himself in a spat with his neighbor. (Sandra Gonzalez at Entertainment Weekly)

DEVELOPMENT NEWS

Actress Patricia Wettig (Brothers & Sisters) has joined the cast of The CW drama pilot Identity, which will tell the story of a young woman in need of an organ transplant who discovers her half-brother’s family is the target of a CIA investigation for domestic terrorism. Wettig will play family matriarch Liana Grant. (Andy Swift at TV Line)

ONLINE SERIES NEWS

Actress Mena Suvari (American Pie franchise and was just seen on Chicago Fire) has landed the lead role in the Amazon Studio drama pilot Hysteria that centers on Dr. Logan Harlow, an exceptionally bright, driven, complicated, charming but socially awkward neurologist/psychiatrist at the University of Texas Medical School who travels to her hometown of Austin, TX to investigate a mysterious epidemic among high school girls that may be spreading through technology. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)

BOX OFFICE NEWS

Actresses Kathy Baker (Picket Fences) and Amanda Crew (Charlie St. Cloud) will appear in the upcoming box office film The Age of Adaline that follows the miraculous life of 29-year-old Adaline (Blake Lively from Gossip Girl), who stops aging after recovering from a near-fatal accident. She embarks on a worldwide journey keeping her secret until she meets a man who forever alters her life. There are no details on what roles the actresses will play in the film, though. Other cast members include Harrison Ford, Ellen Burstyn and Michiel Huisman (Nashville). (Rebecca Ford at The Hollywood Reporter)

Q&A SECTION (with TV Scoop Team at E! Online)

Question: Sleepy Hollow season two is so far away! Give me something to look forward to! – Miriam

TV Scoop Team: Another major first for Ichabod, our favorite fish-out-of-water! “Air travel, he’ll experience for the first time,” executive producer Len Wiseman teases. “Imagine Crane on a plane basically thinking it’s a massive truck. It’s got wheels, he doesn’t really know the thing actually picks up and takes off into the air. That’s something he will experience.”

Question: I’m addicted to Reign! Give me some scoop! – Ellie

TV Scoop Team: You think it’s crazy right now? Oh, just wait. “Think about the pace that things are moving at on just an average weekly basis, and then imagine the season finale,” Anna Popplewell previews. “It’s going to be enormous. So yeah, there’s plenty to look forward to, and fear and dread and all the rest of it.” But can we expect a death. Popplewell teases, “No one is safe in the castle, as you know. There are deaths almost every week, but I couldn’t possibly say who will or won’t survive.”

Question: Revenge, please and thank you. – Gayle

TV Scoop Team: The season finale, titled “Execution,” will see one of your favorites in prison and they’re not having a great time in the slammer. And there’s a trial. And a visit to the psych ward. And somebody’s dead. And that’s all we’ll tell you.

Question: Any Beauty and the Beast scoop to share with us Beasties?! – Aimee

TV Scoop Team: BATB is getting its Law & Order on as the mission to clear Vincent’s name is on. The police and our gang are both working on getting enough “evidence and witnesses” to prove their case, Austin Basis previews, adding that the case will “leads to almost an even more desperate problem…it’s almost like the to the starting gate for Vincent and Catherine, not in their relationship, but how are they going to live a normal life?”

That’s it. Enjoy!

NBC has renewed Grimm, Chicago Fire and its spin-off series Chicago P.D. for next season. Veteran actor Treat Williams (Everwood) will guest star in an upcoming episode of CSI, playing Sam, someone who as a Sheriff’s Deputy back in the late 1980s demonstrated a knack for invention and an aptitude for forensic science. As such, he pioneered methods of crime scene investigating in ways that put him decades ahead of his time. (Matt Mitovich at TV Line)

DEVELOPMENT NEWS

Actor Leslie Odom Jr. (Smash) has joined the cast of the NBC drama pilot State Of Affairs that will star Katherine Heigl (Grey’s Anatomy) as Charleston Whitney Tucker, a key CIA attaché who counsels the president on high-stakes incidents around the world. Odom will play Mitchell Manning, Chief of Staff to the President of the U.S. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)

ONLINE SERIES NEWS

Veteran actor Sam Shepard (August: Osage County) has joined the cast of the upcoming 13-episode untitled Netflix psychological thriller drama that will center on a close-knit family of four adult siblings (Kyle Chandler, Ben Mendelsohn, Linda Cardellini, Norbert Leo Butz) whose secrets and scars are revealed when their black sheep brother (Mendelsohn) returns home. Shepard will play the patriarch of the family while veteran actress Sissy Spacek will play his wife. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)

Q&A SECTION (with Matt Mitovich at TV Line)

Question: Do you have anything for us NCIS: LA/Densi fans? –Krisztina

Mitovich: When I spoke with Barrett Foa and Renée Felice Smith (aka Eric and Nell), they confirmed that there will be “some transition issues” when Kensi eventually makes her way back to the States, ones that affect her partnership with Deeks. “Hetty kind of encourages Kensi to stay close to home, in ops,” Smith previewed. “So she and Eric Beale get to share some time together, which gives Nell and Deeks some time together out in the field.”

Question: Any clue what is going on with Neal on Once Upon a Time? His fans are worried! –Sara

Mitovich: Patience, dearie. Within the next few episodes, the mystery of what’s been going on with Neal in Storybrooke will be answered.

Question: On Once Upon a Time, is there any chance that Snow and Charmings’ new baby is “Dorothy” in this Oz story? –Tom

Mitovich: Funny, Ginnifer Goodwin told me that she and Josh Dallas have batted around that same theory – though at the time we chatted, they were warming up to the Emma-as-Dorothy speculation. But through the filming of Episode 18, at least, there have been no hints either way.

Question: A little bird told me that the Major Crimes cast is coming back to work on Monday. Do you have any inside info on Season 3? –Ilona

Mitovich: Ugh, Sharon’s back. No, not Raydor. (We love her.) I’m talking about Rusty’s other “mother.”

Question: Anything on Season 2 of Orphan Black? –Leia

Mitovich: The Season 2 premiere is, as expected, bananas in all the best ways, quickly bringing us up to speed on (in this order) Sarah, Rachel, Cosima and Allison (whom I possibly heart more than ever). Also, by the end of the hour, there will be a new addition to the “Clone Club” team.

Question: I’ve seen recent promo pictures of George and Lemon from Hart of Dixie (which returns this Friday at 8/7c). Are they just working together as friends or is their hope that it will turn into more? —Tracie

Mitovich: I can confirm that George and Lemon will find themselves increasingly in each other’s orbit, and there will be flying sparks. I can’t confirm, however, whether they’re sparks of love or sparks of hate.

Question: Please get some scoop on Longmire — anything. –Ucano

Mitovich: The Season 3 premiere, “The White Warrior,” is named for a new recurring character that will be introduced in that episode — a young-looking Native American man dressed in white-grey war paint, whom we first meet as he takes part in an almost-forgotten Cheyenne religious ceremony.

Question: I absolutely loved last night’s episode of Arrow. The Suicide Squad was great to see. Is there any chance it could have been a quiet backdoor pilot? –Rick

Mitovich: I like and share your thinking, but with The Flash destined to race onto our screens in the fall, I’d put a pin in any further spin-off plans. Yet as hinted in last night’s final scene, Deadshot et al shall return. “I don’t want to spoil too much where we’re headed,” EP Marc Guggenheim says, “but you haven’t seen the last of Amanda, and you haven’t seen the last of the Suicide Squad.”

Question: Any scoop on Switched at Birth? –Darla

Mitovich: When we spoke to Max Adler, he warned of “some rocky times ahead for Tank and Bay,” ultimately leading to an event that will “leave your jaw dropped and is very shocking and heartbreaking for one of the characters…. What happens in the finale is pretty gut-wrenching stuff.”

That’s it. Enjoy!

Q&A SECTION (with Natalie Abrams at TV Guide and Michael Ausiello at TV Line)

Question: I’m so jealous you got to watch Orphan Black already! Please scoop me! — Melissa

Natalie: You may have heard a new clone will be introduced, but the bigger news is that a believed-dead character will make a shocking return. Elsewhere, Sarah will call on an unlikely ally in her quest to get her daughter back

Question: Can’t wait for more Deathstroke on Arrow. What can you tease? — Glenda

Natalie: Now that Slade’s made his intentions known, Oliver will worry that his relationship with Sara is putting her in greater danger. Although they’re able to overcome that speed bump for now, the couple could be parting ways (in more ways than one) down the line. “Where they are right now is not where they will end up by the end of the year,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim teases.

Question: I’m so excited for Royal Pains to come back! What scoop do you have about Season 6? — Ron

Natalie: Divya will be in full mommy mode when the show returns, picking up several months after the birth of her baby. (She’ll even battle a new patient to land the perfect nanny!) But don’t worry: The Season 6 premiere will flash back to her giving birth. And suffice it to say, how — and when — she goes into labor will be surprising.

Question: Any scoop on the Switched at Birth finale? — Chloe

Natalie: It’s a doozy, that’s for sure! The hour is action-packed, literally, with one character getting beat up, another getting physically threatened and a duo — you’ll be squealing! — getting down and dirty.

Question: I’ve heard that Ariel will be back on Once Upon a Time. How will she be involved in the plot? —Ilenia

Ausiello: Without divulging the exact storyline, Colin O’Donoghue says that JoAnna Garcia Swisher’s encore as the Little Mermaid means “You’ll get to see Hook and Ariel interact a bit, which I think will be fun. They have a ‘tricky’ sort of relationship, and I think people will like it.”

Question: I’d love some scoop on what’s coming up for Sam on Supernatural. —Frances

Ausiello: Gadreel’s little stint inside Sam? “We’re not done talking about it,” promises exec producer Jeremy Carver. “There are more layers to it that are going to take a little while for even Sam to understand.” BONUS SCOOP: The stolen grace that Castiel used to become an angel again “is an issue which will not go undealt with,” Carver teases.

Question: I know Louis is Suits‘ love-to-hate character, but is there any chance we’ll learn more about him this season? —Vicki

Ausiello: You shall, though primarily through his ever-scheming actions versus any exposition drop or flashbacks. “Louis is going to be forced to make a lot of tough choices, and [through that] we’re going to learn a tremendous amount about him,” exec producer Aaron Korsh says. “But I don’t know that we’re going to learn a tremendous amount of facts about Louis’ past.”

Question: Wondering if you have any Arrow scoop — especially Olicity-related? —Vanessa

Ausiello: The spark between the partners will “keep popping up,” promises EP Marc Guggenheim. “You haven’t seen the last of ‘Olicity’ moments, for sure. But at the same time, we don’t try to cram them in.” As for the Gal Friday herself, the EP teases that we’ll learn more about her parents in future episodes, with additional back-story coming in Season 3. BONUS SCOOP: Before season’s end, the number of people who know about Oliver’s secret “will go up,” Guggenheim reveals.

Question: I’m loving Reign right now, but I need to know if there’s any hope for us “Mash” fans. —Cora

Ausiello: Never give up hope, Cora. Mary may be married to Francis, but Lola’s extramarital bun in the oven isn’t going to make for wedded bliss. “As long as that secret exists, Mary is going to be lying to her husband,” Anna Popplewell tells TVLine. “It’s not just Lola’s future that’s at stake, but also Mary’s future with Francis.” As for Mary’s future with Bash, Popplewell tells us, “There’s something very exciting that happens in the next few episodes that will alter the balance of that situation.”

That’s it. Enjoy!
