Here are the news items for today, few though they are:

TELEVISION

Actor Mark Pellegrino (Lost, Supernatural and The Tomorrow People) has joined the cast of the upcoming A&E adaptation of the acclaimed French series The Returned that received a 10-episode order. The series tells the story of a small town that suddenly finds several of its presumed-deceased residents reappearing with a mess of repercussions, both good and bad. Pellegrino will Jack, the father of twin girls, one of whom comes back to life after dying in a school-bus crash four years prior. The series will be co-executive produced by Carlton Cuse (Lost). Actor Mark Sheppard has been promoted (FINALLY!) to series regular on Supernatural when it returns this fall for its 10th season. He has played Crowley, the King of Hell since 2009. (Philiana Ng at The Hollywood Reporter)
