Here are the news items for today:
TELEVISION
Actor Patrick Heusinger (Royal Pains and Revolution) will have a recurring role on Bravo’s first original scripted drama series Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, which stars Lisa Edelstein (House) as a self-help book author who hides the fact that she’s separated from her husband as she starts to navigate her life as a single woman in her early 40s in Los Angeles. Heusinger will play Max, Abby’s brother and best friend. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)
Actress Leah Gibson (Rogue) and actor Rhys Ward (The 100 and the upcoming The Strain) have both landed recurring roles in the upcoming 10-episode A&E network drama series The Returned, which is an adaptation of the French drama of the same name. The drama will focus on a small town that is turned upside down when several local people who have been long presumed dead suddenly reappear, bringing with them both positive and detrimental consequences. Gibson will play Lucy, a sexy, free-spirited traveler who works as a waitress at the local bar, The Dog Star Tavern while Ward plays Adam, an expert hunter with a dark nature and a complicated family history that he’s struggling to overcome. Actor Jack Coleman will be reprising his role of Noah Bennett aka HRG (or the Man in the Horn-Rimmed Glasses) on the upcoming NBC 13-episode min-series event Heroes: Reborn, which will replicate the basic elements of the show’s first season in which ordinary people were waking up to the fact that they had extraordinary abilities. Actress Bex Taylor-Klaus (The Killing and Arrow) will guest star in an upcoming episode of the new TNT series The Librarians (based on the popular Librarian movies). She will play Amy Meyer, a type-A, overachieving high school senior who’s desperate to be a normal girl. The Librarians will premiere this winter on TNT. (Vlada Gelman at TV Line)
Actress Erin Karpluk (Being Erica) will recur on Rookie Blue during its current 5th season. Details on what role Karpluk will play in the latter part of the season is being kept under wraps, though. (Vlada Gelman at TV Line)

Actor Adan Canto (The Following, Mixology and X-Men: Days of Future Past) has landed the male lead role in the Amazon drama pilot Hysteria, which centers on Dr. Logan Harlow (Mena Suvari), a bright but socially awkward doctor at the University of Texas medical school who travels to Austin to investigate a mysterious epidemic among high school girls that might be spreading through technology. Canto will play Matt Sanchez, a self-deprecating survivor whose sister, Daisy, was best friends with Logan when they were kids and who begins to enter a complicated relationship with Logan. Logan’s brother Carter (T. R. Knight from Grey’s Anatomy) is convicted of a crime, but Matt has always believed he is innocent. (Philiana Ng at The Hollywood Reporter)
MADE-FOR-TV MOVIE NEWS
Disney star Zendaya will play the later Aaliyah in a Lifetime original movie that will focus on the life of the actress and R&B singer who tragically died in a plane crash. The film is expected to debut sometime in the fall on the cabler. (The Futon Critic)
