Here are the news items for today:

TELEVISION

ABC Family has officially announced the cancellation of the network’s drama Twisted.  (Andy Swift at TV Line)

Actor Colin Woodell (Devious Maids) will recur on The Originals, playing a “badass” werewolf named Aiden who is a lieutenant in New Orleans’ leading werewolf pack. (Andy Swift at TV Line)

Actor Steven Weber (Chasing Life and Murder In The First) will have a major recurring role in the Syfy drama Helix, playing Brother Michael, the charismatic leader of a cult that will be the focus of season two. Michael is a brilliant speaker and sermonizer and also a first-class geneticist. (The Deadline Team)

Actress Alanna Ubach (Meet the Fockers and Legally Blonde) has joined the cast of the first original scripted drama Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce on Bravo. The series centers on Abby (Lisa Edelstein from House), a self-help book author who hides the fact that she’s separated from her husband as she starts to navigate her life as a single woman in her early 40s in Los Angeles. Ubach will play Jo, a blunt, brassy New Yorker and Abby’s best friend from college who comes to LA to help Abby through her divorce. Janeane Garafolo and Beau Garrett co-star as Lyla and Phoebe, respectively, Abby’s new divorced friends. As Ubach’s character Jo is introduced, Garafolo’s Lyla will be phased out and Jo will succeed Lyla as Abby’s best friend. Additionally, actor Matthew Glave (Growing Up Fisher) and Virginia Williams (Fairly Legal) will have recurring roles on the series, playing Gordon and Courtney Beech, a high-profile fashion couple currently going through a divorce.
