Q&A SECTION (with Natalie Abrams at Entertainment Weekly)

Question: I need Supernatural scoop. How did Dean’s time as a demon change him? — Carl

Natalie: “Right now, it’s less about how he was and what he was, and it’s more about what he might possibly still be,” Jensen Ackles tells me. “He’s still got the mark of Cain so he’s still dealing with whatever adverse effects that’s having on him. What those are have yet to be really defined, but it’s the mystery of what those could be that is really haunting Dean right now. He’s got the shakes. He’s trying to live a cleaner life. He doesn’t want to let does his guard or cloud his judgment.”

Question: I can’t wait to see Emma and Regina working together on Once Upon a Time. — Charlie

Natalie: Actually, Emma crashes the party when Regina sets out to find the Snow Queen on her own and ends up crossing paths with her savior frenemy. “Emma is trying to get Regina back,” Lana Parrilla teases. “Regina feels extremely betrayed by Emma and won’t let her off the hook that easy. Regina lashes out verbally quite a bit.” But their arguing will get interrupted when they’re faced with a sudden snow storm. Bonus scoop: Regina will “suffer a loss” during the hour.

Question: Why the heck would Cisco build a cold gun that could kill the Flash? — Brittany

Natalie: “He created it as a precaution,” Carlos Valdes says, seemingly hinting that at least Cisco, if not the whole team, may have been worried about the extent of Barry’s powers. But when the gun falls into the hands of Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Cisco will learn a pretty valuable lesson. “Cisco has this trajectory of growth,” he says. “Part of that growth involves his coming to terms with responsibility and what it means to be a hero and what it means to accept responsibility for the things that you’ve done. That episode is very important for Cisco in terms of learning the lessons of responsibility, especially when it comes to the people that he loves and the people that he cares about.”

Question: Do you have any scoop on the Felicity origins episode of Arrow? — Rebecca

Natalie: We’re actually going to see a whole new side to Felicity in the episode. “She hadn’t found who she was yet,” Emily Bett Rickards says. “We get to see her in her college years, so she hadn’t stepped into the Felicity we see now. She was still trying to hide.” In present day, Felicity’s mom (Charlotte Ross) will appear at pretty much the worst time possible. “Her mom proves to be a distraction,” Rickards adds. “Keeping secrets becomes a burden for her in that episode.”

Question: Is Jane going to lose her virginity this season on Jane the Virgin? — Kim

Natalie: Well, the promos for next week show Jane giving Michael a greenlight in that area, but as you could probably guess, the couple’s perfect night won’t go as planned. I can’t say whether the couple goes through with it, but I can say that Raf makes a rather interesting appearance during the evening—and not in the way you’d expect.

Question: Since Adrianne Palicki is now on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.—and Will and Sam broke up—does this mean she won’t return to About a Boy? — Fiona

Natalie: The actress reveals that she will return in an upcoming episode—though that doesn’t mean there’s hope for Sam and Will. “It’s post-breakup and it’s that moment that you have with somebody that you love and you reach out,” Palicki teases, offering a glimmer of hope: “There’s definitely a lot to be seen in the future.”

That’s it. Enjoy!

Here is a list of all of the programming options to expect on TV this week:

The VH1 original movie Drumline: A New Beat will debut on October 27 at 9 PM. Based on the 2002 movie, this made-for-TV movie will follow female lead Danielle “Dani” Raymond (Alexandra Shipp from House of Anubis), an upper class Brooklyn girl who defies her parents in order to attend Atlanta A&T so she can join and revitalize their once-prominent drumline. Dani’s quest to become the first female section leader will be hampered by upperclassmen, including her cousin Tyree (newcomer Jeff Pierre), her feelings for fellow bandmate and rival Jayven (Jordan Calloway from Unfabulous), and the school’s crosstown competitors. Leonard Roberts (Heroes) and Nick Cannon (from original Drumline movie) will also appear.

On October 29, the BBC America movie A Poet in New York will debut as part of the network’s Dramaville programming at 8 PM. Set in New York City and Laugharne, Wales, the film tells the story of poet Dylan Thomas (Tom Hollander from Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and Pride and Prejudice) as he arrives in New York on his fourth and fatal visit to rehearse, write and party. He is on his way to Hollywood to write an opera with famous composer Igor Stravinsky. But, before Dylan heads west, he has to earn enough to fund the trip, so he fulfills a commitment to take part in a production of the recently completed Under Milk Wood at the prestigious Poetry Centre in Manhattan. What might have been a triumphant new departure in his career and life, turns instead into a requiem for a man whose life has spiraled out of control.

Elementary will air its season premiere on CBS on October 30 at 10 PM.

The two-night HBO movie Olive Kitteridge will air on HBO on November 2 and November 3 at 9 PM both nights. The film tells the poignantly sweet, acerbically funny and devastatingly tragic story of a seemingly placid New England town wrought with illicit affairs, crime and tragedy, told through the lens of Olive (Frances McDormand), whose wicked wit and harsh demeanor mask a warm but troubled heart and staunch moral center. Richard Jenkins portrays Olive’s husband, Henry.
