More primetime dramas returned last night along with the debut of a much-buzzed about new drama and the relocation of a long-running series.

Here is how all of the Wednesday night dramas fared in the overall ratings:

8 PM Shows:
The Mentalist (CBS) [NEW – New Night and Time] – 9 million
The Mysteries of Laura (NBC) [NEW – Return from Winter Break] – 6.8 million

9 PM Shows:
Empire (FOX) [DEBUT] – 9.8 million
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (NBC) [NEW – Return from Winter Break] – 7.8 million

10 PM Show:
Chicago P.D. (NBC) [NEW – Return from Winter Break] – 7.4 million
