Whilst in the woods, Ella meets a kindred and handsome soul named Kit (Richard Madden) who disguises himself as an employee of the palace but is in fact a prince and heir to the throne. When the palace sends out an open invitation for all maidens to attend a ball organized by the King, Ella hopes to attend and once again encounter the charming Kit.
