Summer programming is in full swing now with a plethora of programming options for TV viewers; and there were plenty of made-for-TV movies and mini-series as well. Let’s take a look at how all of those fared in the ratings last month:
CABLE DRAMAS
MONDAYS:
Turn: Washington’s Spies – The final two episodes of the AMC period drama aired during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
June 1 – 883,000 viewers
June 8 – 933,000 viewers (Season Finale)
This averages out to 908,000 viewers for June. AMC has renewed Turn: Washington’s Spies for a third season, but an official airdate has yet to be announced.
Devious Maids – The Lifetime soap opera returned for a third season starting on June 1, airing five episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
June 1 – 1.5 million (Season Premiere)
June 8 – 1.4 million
June 15 – 1.3 million
June 22 – 1.1 million
June 29 – 1.3 million
This average out to 1.3 million viewers for June. Three new episodes of Devious Maids aired during July with the next new episode set to air on Lifetime on July 27 at 9 PM.
UnReal – The new Lifetime reality-esque series debuted on June 1, airing five episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
June 1 – 815,000 viewers (DEBUT)
June 8 – 707,000 viewers
June 15 – 565,000 viewers
June 22 – 552,000 viewers
June 29 – 810,000 viewers
This averages out to 690,000 viewers for June. Three new episodes of UnReal aired during July with the next new episode set to air on Lifetime on July 27 at 10 PM.
The Fosters – The ABC Family drama returned for the start of its third season on June 8, airing four episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
June 8 – 1.3 million (Season Premiere)
June 15 – 970,000 viewers
June 22 – 1 million
June 29 – 1.2 million
This averages out to 1.1 million viewers for June. Three new episodes of The Fosters aired during July with the next new episode set to air on ABC Family on July 27 at 8 PM.
Major Crimes – The crime drama returned to TNT for the start of its third season on June 8, airing four episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
June 8 – 4 million (Season Premiere)
June 15 – 3.8 million
June 22 – 4.2 million
June 29 – 4.4 million
This averages out to 4.1 million viewers for June. Three new episodes of Major Crimes aired during July with the next new episode set to air on TNT on July 27 at 9 PM.
Murder in the First – The TNT drama returned for its sophomore year on June 8, airing four episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

This averages out to 2.2 million viewers for June. Three new episodes of Murder in the First aired during July with the next new episode set to air on TNT on July 27 at 10 PM.
Teen Wolf – The MTV thriller aired the two-part season premiere of its fifth season on June 29 and June 30. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

June 30 – 1.2 million
This averages out to 1.4 million viewers for June. Three new episodes of Teen Wolf aired during July with the next new episode set to air on MTV on July 27 at 10 PM.
TUESDAYS:
Finding Carter – The MTV drama aired the final three episodes of its second season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
June 2 – 691,000 viewers
June 9 – 529,000 viewers
June 15 – 556,000 viewers (Season Finale)
This averages out to 592,000 viewers for June. MTV has renewed Finding Carter for a third season, but a return date has yet to be announced.
Pretty Little Liars – The ABC Family soap opera premiered its fifth season on June 2, airing five episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
June 2 – 2.4 million (Season Premiere)
June 9 – 2.1 million
June 16 – 1.7 million
June 23 – 1.8 million
June 30 – 1.8 million
This averages out 2 million viewers for June. Two new episodes of Pretty Little Liars aired during July with the next new episode set to air on ABC Family on July 28 at 8 PM.
Stitchers – The new ABC Family drama debuted on June 2, airing five episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

June 30 – 799,000 viewers
This averages out to 982,000 viewers for June. Three new episodes of Stitchers aired during July with the next new episode set to air on ABC Family on July 28 at 9 PM.
Royal Pains – The long-running USA Network drama returned for the start of its 7th season on June 2, airing five episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
June 2 – 1.8 million (Season Premiere)
June 9 – 1.5 million
June 16 – 1.5 million
June 23 – 1.3 million
June 30 – 1.3 million
This averages out to 1.5 million viewers for June. The final three episodes of Royal Pains aired during July, with its season finale airing on July 21. A decision on an 8th season for Royal Pains has yet to be made by the USA Network.
Rizzoli & Isles – The long-running TNT crime drama returned for the start of its sixth season on June 16, airing three episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
June 16 – 4.4 million (Season Premiere)
June 23 – 4 million
June 30 – 4.3 million
This averages out to 4.2 million viewers for June. Three new episodes of Rizzoli & Isles aired during July with the next new episode set to air on TNT on July 28 at 9 PM.
Proof – The new TNT drama debuted on June 16, airing three episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
June 16 – 2.7 million (DEBUT)
June 23 – 2.2 million
June 30 – 2.1 million
This averages out to 2.3 million viewers for June. Three new episodes of Proof aired during July with the next new episode set to air on TNT on July 28 at 10 PM.
Tyrant – The FX drama returned for its second season on June 16, airing three episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

This averages out to 1.1 million viewers for June. Three new episodes of Tyrant aired during July with the next new episode set to air on FX on July 28 at 10 PM.
The Haves and Have Nots – The OWN soap opera returned for the rest of its third season on June 30, earning 3.3 million viewers. Three new episodes of the show aired on OWN during July with the next new episode set to air on July 28 at 9 PM.
Scream: The TV Series – The small screen adaptation of the movie franchise debuted on MTV on June 30, garnering 1 million viewers. Three new episodes of the show aired on MTV during July with the next new episode set to air on July 28 at 10 PM.
WEDNESDAYS:
Ripper Street – The BBC America period piece drama aired the final three episodes of its current, third season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
June 3 – 238,000 viewers
June 10 – 201,000 viewers
June 17 – 201,000 viewers (Season Finale)
This averages out to 213,000 viewers for June. Amazon has renewed Ripper Street for two more seasons, but there is no word on when (if) it will air on BBC America.
Deutschland 83 – The 1980’s set SundanceTV drama debuted on June 17, airing two episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
June 17 – 66,000 viewers (DEBUT)
June 24 – 74,000 viewers
This averages out to 70,000 viewers for June. Three new episodes of Deutschland 83 aired during July with the next new episode set to air on SundanceTV on July 29 at 11 PM.
Suits – The USA Network legal drama returned for the start of its fifth season on June 24, earning 2.1 million viewers. Four new episodes of the show aired during July with the next new episode set to air on the USA Network on July 29 at 9 PM.
Mr. Robot – The new USA Network drama debuted on June 24, earning 1.8 million viewers. Four new episodes of the show aired during July with the next new episode set to air on the USA Network on July 29 at 10 PM.
Rogue – The DirecTV drama returned for the start of its third season on June 24, but ratings for that episode could not be tracked down. Four new episodes of the show aired during July with the next new episode set to air on July 29 at 9 PM.
THURSDAYS:
Olympus – The Syfy fantasy series aired four new episodes of its debut season during June with its final episode airing on July 2. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
June 4 – 467,000 viewers
June 11 – 398,000 viewers
June 18 – 416,000 viewers
June 25 – 382,000 viewers
July 2 – 379,000 viewers (Finale)
This averages out to 408,000 viewers for June. No decision has been announced by Syfy on whether Olympus will get another season or not.
Complications – The new USA Network medical drama aired its two-hour debut on June 18 airing two episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
June 18 – 1.9 million (Two-Hour DEBUT)
June 25 – 1.1 million
This averages out to 1.5 million viewers for June. Three new episodes of Complications aired during July with the next new episode set to air on the USA Network on July 23 at 9 PM.
Graceland – The USA Network drama returned for the start of its third season on the USA Network on June 25, earning 1 million viewers. Three new episodes of the show aired during July with the next new episode set to air on the USA Network on July 23 at 10 PM.
FRIDAYS:
Defiance – The Syfy series returned for the start of its third season with a two-hour premiere, airing three episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

Killjoys – The Syfy space adventure series debuted on June 19, airing two episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

When Calls the Heart – The Hallmark Channel drama aired its final two episodes of its second season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

This averages out to 1.7 million viewers for June. A decision has yet to be made on whether the Hallmark Channel will renew When Calls the Heart for a third season yet or not.
Orphan Black – The BBC America drama aired the final three episodes of its third season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
June 6 – 522,000 viewers
June 12 – 401,000 viewers
June 20 – 428,000 viewers (Season Finale)
This averages out to 450,000 viewers for June. A fourth season of Orphan Black has been ordered, but no airdate has been set by BBC America yet.
Power – The Starz drama returned for the start of its second season on June 6, airing four episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

Salem – The WGN America thriller aired the final four episodes of its second season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
June 7 – 284,000 viewers
June 14 – 314,000 viewers
June 21 – 318,000 viewers
June 28 – 337,000 viewers (Season Finale)
This averages out to 313,000 viewers for June. Salem has been renewed for a third season by WGN America, but an official airdate has yet to be announced.
Game of Thrones – The HBO critically-acclaimed series aired the final two episodes of its fifth season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
June 7 – 7.1 million
June 14 – 8.1 million (Season Finale)
This averages out to 7.6 million for June. Game of Thrones will return for a sixth season on HBO, but an airdate has yet to be announced.
Penny Dreadful – The Showtime thriller series aired four episodes of its current season in June with its season finale airing on July 5. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
June 7 – 566,000 viewers
June 14 – 572,000 viewers
June 21 – 523,000 viewers
June 28 – 604,000 viewers
July 5 – 746,000 viewers (Season Finale)
This averages out to 602,000 viewers for June. Penny Dreadful has been renewed for a third season by Showtime with an airdate yet to be set.
Halt and Catch Fire – The AMC 80’s themed series aired four episodes of its second season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
June 7 – 494,000 viewers
June 14 – 452,000 viewers
June 21 – 451,000 viewers
June 28 – 543,000 viewers
This averages out to 485,000 viewers for June. Three new episodes of Halt and Catch Fire aired during July with the next new episode set to air on AMC on July 26 at 10 PM.
Humans – The AMC android-themed series debuted on June 28, earning 1.7 million viewers. Three new episodes of the show aired during July with the next new episode set to air on AMC on July 26 at 9 PM.
True Detective – The second season of the HBO anthology series premiered on June 21, airing two episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

This averages out to 3.1 million viewers for June. Three new episodes of True Detective aired during July with the next new episode set to air on HBO on July 26 at 9 PM.

There were over two dozen made-for-TV movies and/or mini-series that aired on the cable networks during June. Here is a list of those for which ratings could be found:
