The Reckoning

The Hallmark Movies & Mysteries original movie Beverly Lewis’ The Reckoning will debut on October 11 at 9 PM.

Katie LeClerc (Switched at Birth) reprises her role as Katie Mayfield, the new mistress of Mayfield Manor, the estate passed down from her birth mother.

In her new world she finds solace in honoring her mother’s memory and in love with Justin Wirth, the Director of her foundation. Katie finds herself torn between two worlds and grieves for her plain Amish life. Unknown to Katie, Daniel Fisher, her lost love, makes a desperate attempt to find her.

Harvest Moon

On October 10, the Hallmark Channel original movie Harvest Moon will debut at 9 PM.

When her family goes bankrupt, privileged city girl Jen Stone (Jessy Schram from Falling Skies) travels to the country to try and fix up a struggling pumpkin farm that her father bought as an investment to get her money back. Not everyone is on board with her changes, least of all Brett (Jesse Hutch from Cedar Cove), the farm’s handsome manager. By working with what she knows best, she discovers the magic of pumpkin skincare and turns the struggling farm around while also falling in love.

The film also stars Willie Aames (Eight Is Enough).

The Last Kingdom

The eight-part event series The Last Kingdom will air on BBC America on October 10 at 10 PM.

Based on the best-selling novels by Stephen Butchard, the movie is set in the 9th century. The separate kingdoms which once made up England have fallen to the invading Vikings.  Only the great Kingdom of Wessex – the last kingdom – stands defiant under its visionary King Alfred the Great.

The cast includes Matthew Macfadyen (Pride & Prejudice and Ripper Street), Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner) and Ian Hart (Boardwalk Empire and Rogue) [among others].

Here is a long list of the programming options of what to expect on TV this week:

On October 6, the season premieres of The Flash and iZombie will both air on The CW at 8 and 9 PM respectively while that same night Finding Carter will be back with an all-new 12-episode seas on MTV at 10 PM.

The season premieres of Arrow and Supernatural will air on October 7 at 8 and 9 PM respectively on The CW while the fifth installment of the FX anthology American Horror Story: Hotel will premiere that same night at 10 PM.

On October 8, the season premieres of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals will air on The CW at 8 and 9 PM respectively and also that night Haven will be back with its two-hour fall premiere, the culmination of its fifth and final season on Syfy at 10 PM.

The season premiere of Reign will air on October 9 on The CW at 8 PM while the series finale of Strike Back will air on Cinemax at 10 PM that same night.

On October 10, the following movies will air:

* The Unauthorized Melrose Place Story movie will debut on Lifetime at 8 PM
* The eight-part event series The Last Kingdom will air on BBC America at 10 PM
* The Hallmark Channel original movie Harvest Moon will debut at 9 PM

Lastly, the 90-minute season premiere of The Walking Dead will air at 9 PM on AMC on October 11 while over on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries the new movie Beverly Lewis’ The Reckoning will debut at 9 PM.

The fall TV season got underway near the end of September, but that didn’t mean that there weren’t plenty of cable offerings still on the air or in some instances returning for new seasons. Here is how all of the cable dramas faired last month:

CABLE DRAMAS

MONDAYS:

Chasing Life – The ABC Family drama aired the final four episodes of its second season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 7 – 591,000 viewers
September 14 – 679,000 viewers
September 21 – 538,000 viewers
September 28 – 486,000 viewers (Fall Finale)

This averages out to 574,000 viewers for September. A short time after the fall finale aired ABC Family canceled Chasing Life.

Switched at Birth – The ABC Family drama aired four more new episodes of its current, fourth season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 7 – 986,000 viewers
September 14 – 1 million
September 21 – 701,000 viewers
September 28 – 764,000 viewers

This averages out to 863,000 viewers for September. The next new episode of Switched at Birth will air on ABC Family tonight, October 5 at 8 PM.

TUESDAYS:

The Haves and Have Nots – The OWN soap opera aired four more new episodes of its current, second season, including its fall finale, during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 1 – 3.2 million
September 8 – 3.3 million
September 15 – 3.1 million
September 22 – 3.7 million (Fall Finale)

This averages out to 3.3 million viewers for September. The Haves and Have Nots is expected to return for the remainder of its second season in early 2016 on OWN.

Public Morals – The new period piece TNT aired five more new episodes of its debut season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 1 – 1.5 million
September 8 – 962,000 viewers
September 15 – 781,000 viewers
September 22 – 632,000 viewers
September 29 – 651,000 viewers

This averages out to 905,000 viewers for September. The next new episode of Public Morals will air on TNT on October 6 at 10 PM.

The Bastard Executioner – The period piece drama debuted on FX on September 15, airing three episodes of its first season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 15 – 2.2 million (Series Debut)
September 22 – 1.1 million
September 29 – 1.3 million

This averages out to 1.5 million viewers for September. The next new episode of The Bastard Executioner will air on FX on October 6 at 10 PM.

If Loving You Is Wrong – The OWN soap opera drama returned for the start of its second season on September 22, airing two episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 22 – 2.9 million (Season Premiere)
September 29 – 2.3 million

This averages out to 2.6 million viewers for September. The next new episode of If Loving You Is Wrong will air on OWN on October 6 at 9 PM.

WEDNESDAYS:

Ties That Bind – The first original scripted drama on the UP Channel aired five more new episodes of its debut season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 2 – 166,000 viewers
September 9 – No ratings could be found
September 16 – 107,000 viewers
September 23 – 140,000 viewers
September 30 – 73,000 viewers

This averages out to approximately 122,000 viewers for September. A new episode of Ties That Bind will air on UP Channel on October 7 at 9 PM.

THURSDAYS:

Graceland – The USA Network drama aired the final three episodes of its current, third season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 3 – 810,000 viewers
September 10 – 836,000 viewers
September 17 – 913,000 viewers (Season Finale)

This averages out to 853,000 viewers for September. A short time after the season finale of Graceland aired the USA Network canceled the show.

Dominion – The Syfy apocalyptic drama aired the finale five new episodes of its current, second season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 3 – 771,000 viewers
September 10 – 836,000 viewers
September 17 – 641,000 viewers
September 24 – 769,000 viewers
October 1 – 721,000 viewers (Season Finale)

This averages out to 748,000 viewers for September. Syfy has yet to announce if Dominion has been renewed for a third season.

FRIDAYS:

Strike Back – The Cinemax action drama aired three more new episodes of its fourth and final season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 11 – 234,000 viewers
September 18 – 166,000 viewers
September 25 – 280,000 viewers

This averages out to 227,000 viewers for September. A new episode of Strike Back aired on October 2 with the next new episode set to air on Cinemax on October 9 at 10 PM.

Z Nation – The zombie series returned for its second season on Syfy on September 11, airing three episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 11 – 943,000 viewers (Season Premiere)
September 18 – 882,000 viewers
September 25 – 990,000 viewers

This averages out to 938,000 viewers for September. A new episode of Z Nation aired on October 2 with the next new episode set to air on Syfy on October 9 at 10 PM.

Continuum – The Syfy series returned on September 11 for the start of its fourth and final season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 11 – 459,000 viewers (Season Premiere)
September 18 – 424,000 viewers
September 25 – 526,000 viewers

This averages out to 470,000 viewers for September. A new episode of Continuum aired on October 2 with the next new episode set to air on Syfy on October 9 at 11 PM.

SATURDAYS:

Cedar Cove – The family-friendly Hallmark Channel drama aired the final four new episodes of its current, third season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 5 – 1.6 million
September 12 – 1.8 million
September 19 – 1.7 million (Part 1 of Season Finale)
September 26 – 2 million (Part 2 of Season Finale)

This averages out to 1.8 million viewers for September. An official announcement has yet to be made by the Hallmark Channel as to whether Cedar Cove has been renewed for a fourth season.

Doctor Who – The long-running series returned for its 9th season on BBC America on September 19, airing its two-part season premiere during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 19 – 2 million (Part 1 of Season Premiere)
September 26 – 1.1 million (Part 2 of Season Premiere)

This average out to 1.6 million viewers for September. A new episode of Doctor Who aired on BBC America on October 3 with the next new episode set to air on October 10 at 9 PM.

SUNDAYS:

The Last Ship – The TNT post-pandemic series aired its season finale on September 6, earning 2.8 million viewers. The Last Ship has been renewed for a third season by TNT, which will air at some point in 2016.

The Strain – The FX thriller aired four more new episodes of its current, second season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 6 – 1.2 million
September 13 – 1.3 million
September 20 – 1.4 million
September 27 – 1.2 million

This averages out to 1.3 million viewers for September. The season finale of The Strain aired on October 4 on FX. Those numbers will be included in the October report.

Ray Donovan – The Showtime drama aired the final four episodes of its current, third season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 6 – 1.4 million
September 13 – 1.4 million
September 20 – 1.5 million
September 27 – 1.5 million (Season Finale)

This averages out to 1.5 million viewers for September. Ray Donovan has been renewed for a fourth season that will air on Showtime later in 2016.

Masters of Sex – The Showtime drama aired the final four episodes of its current, third season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 6 – 562,000 viewers
September 13 – 601,000 viewers
September 20 – 548,000 viewers
September 27 – 605,000 viewers (Season Finale)

This averages out to 579,000 viewers for September. Masters of Sex has also been renewed for a fourth season that will air on Showtime later in 2016.

Fear the Walking Dead – The AMC spin-off series aired three episodes of its debut season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 12 – 7.2 million
September 20 – 6.6 million
September 27 – 6.7 million

This averages out to 6.8 million viewers for September. The season finale of Fear the Walking Dead aired on AMC on October 4. The ratings for that episode will be in the October report.

MADE-FOR-TV MOVIES AND MINI-SERIES

There were 14 made-for-TV movies and/or mini-series that aired on the cable networks during September. The following were the movies where ratings could be found:

Love On the Air (Hallmark Channel) – 1.9 million
Murder in Mexico (Lifetime) – 1.3 million
The Murder Pact (Lifetime) – 1.3 million
Ungodly Act (Lifetime) – 915,000 viewers
Signed Sealed Delivered: Truth Be Told (Hallmark Channel) – 806,000 viewers
