Here is a list of programming option to expect on TV this coming week:
On September 27, the new Syfy thriller Aftermath will debut at 10 PM. This 13-episode series centers on one family – Karen (Anne Heche, from Men in Trees) and Joshua Copeland (James Tupper from Revenge) and their children and how they battle for survival after civilization comes to an apocalyptic end and they are faced not only with plague but the rise of supernatural creatures.
The CBS dramas Criminal Minds and Code Black will both air their season premieres on September 28 at 9 PM and 10 PM respectively.
On September 29, the Netflix series Marvel’s Luke Cage will debut online. When a sabotaged experiment gives him super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter from Marvel’s Jessica Jones and The Good Wife) becomes a fugitive attempting to rebuild his life in Harlem and must soon confront his past and fight a battle for the heart of his city. The cast includes Alfre Woodard, Mahershala Ali (The 4400 and House of Cards), Rosario Dawson (Daredevil), Theo Rossi (Sons of Anarchy), Frank Whaley (Ray Donovan and Sonia Braga (Kiss of the Spider Woman)
The new Ovation series Versailles will debut on October 1 at 10 PM. At 28, King Louis XIV of France (George Blagden from Vikings) commissions Versailles, the most beautiful palace in Europe, which serves as the King’s gilded prison, keeping his friends close and enemies closer. Enter a world of untold wealth, power, and passion. Where love and lust are just a heartbeat away from deceit and betrayal. The cast includes Alexander Vlahos (Merlin) and Evan Williams (Awkward) [among others].
Also on October 1, the Hallmark Channel movie Love On A Limb will debut at 9 PM. Aimie Roarke (Ashley Williams from the movie October Kiss) is always up for a cause and when the town’s beloved Oak tree is set to be cut down, she takes it upon herself try and save it. When the Mayor hires a handsome new landscaper (Trevor Donovan from the mini-series Texas Rising) to cut it down, she decides the only way to save the tree is to chain herself to it. As Kyle attempts to wait her out and the two start to spend more time together, they may find the Old Tree brings them both more than they could have imagined in life and love. The film will also star veteran actress Marilu Henner.
The Irresistible Blueberry Farm is the latest Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movie that will debut on October 2 at 9 PM. Before Ellen’s grandmother and long-time confidant Ruth (veteran actress Shirley Jones) passed away, she asked Ellen (Alison Sweeney from the Murder She Baked franchise of movies) to deliver a mysterious letter to a man owning a blueberry farm. After the funeral, Ellen walks along an old dock contemplating her grandmother’s request when the dock breaks under her feet. After plunging into the water, she quickly gets caught in a strong current and is swept to sea – only to be rescued by a handsome stranger (Marc Blucas from Underground and Necessary Roughness). After Ellen recovers, she sets out on her grandmother’s mission and unravels the mysterious love story her grandmother left behind.
Also on October 2, the season premieres of Madam Secretary and Elementary will air on CBS at 9 and 10 PM respectively.
And, the new 10-episode series Westworld, based on the 1973 Michael Crichton movie, will debut on HBO on October 2 at 9 PM. This series is a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin. Set at the intersection of the near future and the reimagined past, it explores a world in which every human appetite, no matter how noble or depraved, can be indulged. The cast includes Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Rodrigo Santoro, Ben Barnes, Luke Hemsworth and Clifton Collins, Jr.
