Here is a list of programming option to expect on TV this coming week:

Jane the Virgin will air its season premiere on The CW on October 17 at 9 PM.

On October 19, the Hulu streaming series Chance will debut online. Based on Kem Nunn’s novel, the series is a provocative psychological thriller, focusing on Eldon Chance (Hugh Laurie from House and The Night Manager), a San Francisco-based forensic neuropsychiatrist who reluctantly gets sucked into a violent and dangerous world of mistaken identity, police corruption and mental illness.

The new, live version of The Rocky Horror Picture Show will air on FOX on October 20 at 8 PM. The musical event follows sweethearts Janet (Victoria Justice from Victorious and Eye Candy) and Brad (Ryan McCartan from Liv & Maddie) stumble upon Dr. Frank-N-Furter’s (Laverne Cox from Orange is the New Black) bizarre abode.

On October 21, the season premieres of The Vampire Diaries and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend will air on The CW at 8 and 9 PM respectively.

Good Witch: Secrets of Grey House is the two-hour Halloween special that will air on the Hallmark Channel on October 22 at 9 PM. Cassie (Catherine Bell) welcomes a popular fantasy author and her editor to Grey House. Before long, Cassie inspires her to hold the launch party for her latest book right there in Middleton, which shares mysterious and surprising similarities with her stories. Meanwhile, a medical emergency keeps Sam (James Denton) busy at the hospital and away from Cassie until a surprise patient brings them closer than ever.

The BBC America mystery series Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency will debut on October 22 at 9 PM. This trippy mystery that thrusts a reluctant sidekick into the bizarre world of an unconventional detective who believes in the interconnectedness of all things. When washed-up rocker Todd Brotzman (Elijah Wood) stumbles upon the murder scene of a millionaire, all hell breaks loose. Eccentric detective, Dirk Gently (Samuel Barnett from Penny Dreadful), wholly believes they’re destined to untangle the peculiar events surrounding the mystery together, whether Todd likes it or not.

Also on October 22, the new Lifetime movie Death of a Vegas Showgirl will debut at 8 PM. In a true story of sex, lies and betrayal, two incredibly talented dancers, Jason “Blu” Griffith (Danso Gordon from Saving Hope), and showgirl Debbie Flores (Rosalyn Sanchez from Devious Maids), become involved in a tumultuous relationship that spirals into obsession and spins horribly out of control.

Season 7 of the zombiefest thriller The Walking Dead will premiere on AMC on October 23 at 9 PM.

Also on October 23, the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movie Hailey Dean Mystery: Murder, With Love will debut at 9 PM. Hailey Dean (Kellie Martin) is a bright, disciplined and acutely observant former prosecutor who has found a new way to help others when she becomes a therapist. Always motivated to get to the heart of the truth, Hailey suspects foul play when one of her patients’ parents tragically dies. Hailey finds herself invested in uncovering the truth and is aided by her two secret weapons: telegenic good looks and a generous supply of charm.

RENEWALS/CANCELLATIONS

Halt & Catch Fire has been renewed for its fourth and final season by AMC. (Variety)

Murder in the First was cancelled by TNT. (Variety)

Lethal Weapon has been given a full season order by FOX. (Variety)

The Walking Dead has been renewed for an 8th season by AMC. (Variety)

MTV has given Scream: The Series a third season renewal. (Variety)

The German-language drama Deutschland 83 has been given a second season, airing on both SundanceTV and Amazon. (Variety)

Syfy has renewed their new thriller Van Helsing for a second season. (The Futon Critic)

CASTING NEWS

Actor Leonard Roberts (The People Vs O.J. Simpson) will have a recurring role on the Syfy series The Magicians, which returns for its second season sometime next year. He will play King Idri of Loria, a skilled swordfighter who is confident in his leadership and places great value upon his kingly duty. (Deadline)

Actress Melina Kanakaredes (CSI: NY and Providence) will have a recurring role on Notorious, playing Dana Hartman, a natural beauty with a keen intelligence, sharp wit and a quick temper, who has risen to the pinnacle of success in broadcasting and plummeted to the depths of scandal-ridden despair. We meet her seven years out from the lowest point in her career, a mother to a rebellious twenty one year old daughter. She is a survivor, who will fight dirty to get what she wants and to protect her daughter. (Deadline)

The new, live version of The Rocky Horror Picture Show will air on FOX on October 20 at 8 PM.

The musical event follows sweethearts Janet (Victoria Justice from Victorious and Eye Candy) and Brad (Ryan McCartan from Liv & Maddie) stumble upon Dr. Frank-N-Furter’s (Laverne Cox from Orange is the New Black) bizarre abode.

The cast will include American Idol alum Adam Lambert, Broadway star Reeve Carney (Penny Dreadful), Christina Milian, veteran actor Ben Vereen and original Frank-N-Furter portrayer Tim Curry as the show’s narrator.
