On November 12, the Hallmark Channel movie Every Christmas Has a Story will debut at 9 PM.

A TV personality (Lori Loughlin from When Calls the Heart) has an on-air snafu and admits she hates Christmas. Following the debacle, she is invited to the Most Christmas-y town in America to try and repair her image. Forced to work with her ex-boyfriend Jack (Colin Ferguson from Eureka and Cedar Cove), the show’s producer, the magic of Christmas and this special town will change the way she views Christmas and her life.

Willie Aames (Charles in Charge and Eight Is Enough) also stars.

It was a pretty full night of programming on the major networks last night except for the pre-emption of Timeless for election coverage via Saturday Night Live.

Here is a list of programming option to expect on TV this coming week:

The Hallmark Channel movie Every Christmas Has a Story will debut on November 12 at 9 PM. Following the debacle, she is invited to the Most Christmas-y town in America to try and repair her image. On November 13, Merry Christmas, Baby! is the new UP Channel movie that will debut at 7 PM. The Chandler family is back and bigger than ever in the fourth installment of the Marry Me for Christmas franchise. Determined to make her baby’s first Christmas a memorable one, Marci (Malinda Williams from Soul Food) throws herself into both planning the perfect Christmas and building her new event planning business. But when the business gets off to a rocky start and members of her family face their own hardships, Marci will discover that when your plans for a perfect Christmas start to fall apart, it just might be the miracle you need. The cast includes GregAlan Williams (Greenleaf) and Victoria Rowell (The Young and The Restless).

Christmas Cookies is the latest Hallmark Channel movie that will also debut on November 13 at 9 PM. Aunt Sally’s Christmas Cookie Company is sold to a large conglomerate and executive Hannah (Jill Wagner from Teen Wolf) must seal the deal and shut down the factory, which is the small town of Cookie Jar’s lifeblood. What was supposed to be a simple assignment for Hannah becomes complicated when she meets Jake (Wes Brown from True Blood), the factory owner who’s determined to keep the factory in town. Despite not being a fan of the holiday, the Christmas spirit in this small town is infectious and she gets swept up in the joy of the season while also falling in love.

Also on November 13, Finding Father Christmas is the new Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movie that will debut at 9 PM. Christmas for Miranda is a painful reminder of the family she never had. Her mother died when she was young, never revealing the identity of her father. But, three days before Christmas, she unexpectedly receives a clue as to the whereabouts that takes her to a beautiful New England town where she meets Ian, a young man who helps with her search. As the clues lead to her father’s identity and Miranda discovers the possibility of love in Ian, and she learns that her father lived in the small town and now she knows his family (her brother and her biological father’s wife). She faces a terrible decision: should she share the truth and risk losing the family she has just found, or leave and keep the secret forever? The cast includes Erin Krakow (When Calls the Heart), Niall Matter (Eureka) and Wendy Mallick (Hot in Cleveland).

Football affected last night’s programming on CBS while ABC aired its regular primetime line-up. The rest of last night’s programming on the major networks consisted of sports, animation and comedies.

The fall TV season is now over a month underway and there was a lot of cable programming options to watch throughout October from dramas to mini-series to made-for-TV movies. Here are the ratings for October.

CABLE DRAMAS

MONDAYS:

NOTE: There weren’t any cable network dramas airing in October.

TUESDAYS:

If Loving You Is Wrong – Four new episodes of the third season of the OWN drama aired during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

October 4 – 2.1 million
October 11 – 2.3 million
October 18 – 2 million
October 25 – 2.1 million

This averages out to 2.1 million viewers for October. A new episode of If Loving Is Wrong aired on OWN on November 1 with the next new episode set to air on Tuesday, November 8 at 9 PM.

Aftermath – Four new episodes of the debut season of the 13-episode Syfy series aired during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

October 4 – 755,000 viewers
October 11 – 655,000 viewers
October 18 – 599,000 viewers
October 25 – 600,000 viewers

This averages out to 652,250 viewers for October. A new episode of Aftermath aired on November 1 with the next new episode set to air on Syfy on Tuesday, November 8 at 10 PM.

Channel Zero: Candle Cove – The 6-episode anthology series debuted on Syfy on October 11, airing three episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

October 11 – 761,000 viewers (DEBUT)
October 18 – 626,000 viewers
October 25 – 552,000 viewers

This averages out to 646,000 viewers for October. A new episode of Channel Zero: Candle Cove aired on November 1 with the next new episodes set to air on Syfy on Tuesday, November 8 at 9 PM.

NOTE: A special Halloween episode of Scream: The TV Series aired on MTV on October 25, earning 295,000 viewers.

WEDNESDAYS:

Queen Sugar – The new OWN drama aired three new episodes of its debut season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

October 5 – 1.4 million
October 12 – 1.7 million
October 19 – No Episode Aired
October 25 – 1.7 million

This averages out to 1.6 million viewers for October. A new episode of Queen Sugar aired on November 2 with the next new episode set to air on OWN on Wednesday, November 8 at 10 PM.

American Horror Story – The long-running FX anthology thriller had its season premiere on September 14, airing three episode during that month as well as airing four episodes in October. The ratings for all of those episodes are as follows:

September 14 – 5.1 million (Season Premiere)
September 21 – 3.3 million
September 28 – 3.1 million
October 5 – 2.8 million
October 12 – 2.8 million
October 19 – 2.5 million
October 26 – 2.6 million

This averages out to 3.2 million viewers for the time period. A new episode of American Horror Story aired on November 2 with the next new episode set to air on FX on Wednesday, November 9 at 10 PM.

Rectify – The fourth and final season of the SundanceTV drama premiered on October 26, earning 179,000 viewers. A new episode aired on November 1 with the next new episode set to air on Wednesday, November 9 at 10 PM.

THURSDAYS:

Falling Water – The new USA Network drama debuted on October 13, airing three episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

October 13 – 670,000 viewers (DEBUT)
October 20 – 507,000 viewers
October 27 – 527,000 viewers

This averages out to 568,000 viewers for October. A new episode of Falling Water aired on November 3 with the next new episodes set to air on the USA Network on Thursday, November 10 at 10 PM.

The Living and the Dead – The BBC America 6-part mini-series debuted on October 27, but ratings for that episode could not be tracked down. Check your local listings for the next airing of The Living and the Dead on BBC America.

FRIDAYS:

Quarry – The new Cinemax 1970’s-themed series aired the final four episodes of its debut season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

October 7 – 157,000 viewers
October 14 – 165,000 viewers
October 21 – 198,000 viewers
October 27 – 178,000 viewers (Finale)

This averages out to 175,000 viewers for October. Quarry has yet to be renewed for a second season by Cinemax.

Z Nation – The zombie series aired four more new episode from its third season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

October 7 – 846,000 viewers
October 14 – 803,000 viewers
October 21 – 768,000 viewers
October 28 – 717,000 viewers

This averages out to 784,000 viewers for October. A new episode of Z Nation aired on November 4 with the next new episode set to air on Syfy on Friday, November 11 at 9 PM.

Van Helsing – The new vampire-based drama aired four more new episodes of its debut season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

October 7 – 619,000 viewers
October 14 – 613,000 viewers
October 21 – 635,000 viewers
October 28 – 530,000 viewers

This averages out to 599,000 viewers for October. A new episode of Van Helsing aired on November 4 with the next new episode set to air on Syfy on Friday, November 11 at 10 PM.

SATURDAYS:

Versailles – The period piece drama debuted on Ovation on October 1, airing five episodes during the month. Ratings for the first three episodes could not be tracked down, but the other two episodes earned 184,000 viewers and 141,000 viewers respectively. A new episode of Versailles aired on November 5 with the next new episode set to air on Ovation on November 12 at 10 PM.

Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency – The oddball comedic, sci-fi BBC America series debuted on October 22, airing two episodes of its debut season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

October 22 – 437,000 viewers (DEBUT)
October 29 – 293,000 viewers

This averages out to 365,000 viewers for the month. A new episode of Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency aired on November 5 with the next new episode set to air on BBC America on Saturday, November 12 at 9 PM

SUNDAYS:

The Strain – The horrorfest series aired the final five episodes of its third season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

October 2 – 796,000 viewers
October 9 – 815,000 viewers
October 16 – 848,000 viewers
October 23 – 939,000 viewers
October 30 – 886,000 viewers (Season Finale)

This averages out to 857,000 viewers for October. The Strain has been renewed for its fourth and final season by FX.

Masters of Sex – The period piece drama aired five new episodes of its fourth season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

October 2 – 525,000 viewers
October 9 – 341,000 viewers
October 16 – 506,000 viewers
October 23 – 486,000 viewers
October 30 – 393,000 viewers

This averages out to 450,000 viewers for October. A new episode of Masters of Sex aired on November 6 with the season finale set to air on Showtime on Sunday, November 13 at 10 PM.

Westworld – The new HBO sci-fi western debuted on October 2, airing five episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

October 2 – 2 million (DEBUT)
October 9 – 1.5 million
October 16 – 2.1 million
October 23 – 1.7 million
October 30 – 1.5 million

This averages out to 1.8 million viewers for October. A new episode of Westworld aired on November 2 with the next new episode set to air on HBO on Sunday, November 13 at 9 PM.

Eyewitness – The new USA Network drama debuted on October 16, airing three episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

October 16 – 765,000 viewers (DEBUT)
October 23 – 632,000 viewers
October 30 – 563,000 viewers

This averages out to 653,000 viewers for October. A new episode of Eyewitness aired on November 6 with the next new episode set to air on the USA Network on Sunday, November 13 at 10 PM.

The Walking Dead – The 7th season of the long-running thriller premiered on October 23, airing two episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

October 23 – 17 million (Season Premiere)
October 30 – 12.5 million

This averages out to 15 million viewers for October. A new episode of The Walking Dead aired on November 6 with the next new episode set to air on AMC on Sunday, November 13 at 9 PM.

Berlin Station – The new EPIX spy drama debuted on October 16, airing three episodes during the month. Unfortunately, ratings could not be tracked down for any of those episodes. A new episode of Berlin Station aired on November 6 with the next new episode set to air on EPIX on Sunday, November 13 at 9 PM.

There were nearly 30 made-for-TV movies that aired in October, many in honor of Halloween and/or the fall season among others.

Here are the news items for the past week:

CASTING NEWS

Actress Ivana Milicevic (Banshee) has landed a recurring role on Gotham where she will play the long-lost mother of Selina Kyle. Her character, Maria Kyle is described as a tough-as-nails operator with an arsenal of street smarts; she is a world-class drifter who is able to hide her true self behind a variety of personas. (TV Line)

Actress Lexa Doig (Andromeda) will recur on Arrow, playing Talia al Ghul, the daughter of the late Ra’s al Ghul (Matt Nable) and the half-sister of Nyssa (Katrina Law). (Entertainment Weekly)

Actor Patrick Heusinger (Jack Reacher 2 and Royal Pains) has landed the lead role opposite Stana Katic (Castle) in the straight-to-series crime thriller Absentia that centers on an FBI agent (Katic), who while hunting one of Boston’s most notorious serial killers, the agent disappears without a trace and is declared dead. Six years later, she is found in a cabin in the woods, barely alive and with no memory of the years she was missing. Returning home to learn her husband (Heusinger) has remarried and her son is being raised by another woman, she soon finds herself implicated in a new series of murders. (Deadline)

Actress Mariana Klaveno (True Blood and Devious Maids) will have a recurring role on Designated Survivor, playing a mysterious and calculating Dark-Haired Woman, a clandestine operator in league with the people behind the Capitol attack. (Deadline)

Actress Abbie Cornish (the Limitless film) will star opposite John Krasinski (The Office) in the upcoming Amazon series Jack Ryan that follows an up-and-coming CIA analyst (Krasinski) thrust into a dangerous field assignment for the first time. Cornish will play Cathy Mueller, an infectious diseases doctor and Jack’s future wife. (TV Line and Deadline)

RENEWALS

Netflix has given Longmire a 10-episode sixth and final season renewal. (Variety)

MOVIE NEWS

Actor Rami Malek (Mr. Robot) will portray legendary late singer Freddie Mercury in the long-in-development biopic film Bohemian Rhapsody. (Deadline and Variety)
