Here is a list of programming options to expect on TV this coming week:

On April 17, the finale of 24: Legacy will air on FOX at 8 PM.

The final season of Pretty Little Liars will get underway starting on April 18 at 18 on Freeform followed by the debut of the new series Famous in Love, which is based on the novel by Rebecca Serle, the series follows ordinary college student Paige (Bella Thorne) as she gets her big break after auditioning for the starring role in a Hollywood blockbuster. She must now navigate her new star-studded life and the highs and lows that come with being the new It Girl in town as well as balancing her college workload.

On April 19, the third season of Fargo will premiere on FX at 10 PM while that same night The Magicians and The Expanse will both air their finales on Syfy at 9 and 10 PM respectively. Also on April 19, the finale of Hap & Leonard will air on SundanceTV at 10 PM.

The Blacklist will be back with its spring premiere on April 20 on NBC at 10 PM.

On April 22, the HBO film The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks will debut at 8 PM. Oprah Winfrey and Rose Byrne (Damages) will star in the small screen adaptation of Rebecca Skloot’s critically acclaimed book that tells the story of Henrietta Lacks, an African-American woman whose cells were used to create the first immortal human cell line.

Also on April 22, the Hallmark Channel movie The Perfect Catch will debut at 9 PM, starring Nikki Deloach and Andrew Walker.

The new series Mary Kills People will debut on Lifetime on April 23 at 10 PM. The series is set around the life of Dr. Mary Harris (Caroline Dhavernas from Hannibal and Wonderfalls), an overworked single mother and ER doctor who also moonlights as an underground angel of death, working outside the law assisting patients who want to die on their own terms.

Also on April 23, the 10th season of Heartland will debut on the UP Channel at 9 PM while that same night the finale of the FX anthology series Feud: Bette and Joan will air at 10 PM.

Last night’s programming options on the major networks were filled with about a handful of new episodes of some of Sunday’s dramas along with one special and plenty of repeats.

Here is how the few Sunday night dramas, that aired new episodes, fared in the overall ratings:

8 PM Show:
Once Upon a Time (ABC) [NEW] – 2.5 million

9 PM Show:
Chicago Justice (NBC) [NEW] – 4.9 million

RENEWALS/CANCELLATIONS

Nashville has been renewed for a sixth season by CMT. (Variety)

The Magicians has been renewed for a third season by Syfy. (Variety)

Hulu has given The Path a third season renewal. (Variety)

WGN America has cancelled Outsiders after two seasons. (Variety)

AMC has renewed Fear the Walking Dead for a fourth season. (Variety)

The Arrangement has been renewed for a second season by E! (Deadline)

TV NEWS

Amazon has ordered two seasons of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel from creator Amy Sherman-Palladino (the creator of Gilmore Girls). The series, which will star Rachel Brosnahan (Manhattan and House of Cards) as Miriam “Midge” Maisel, a 1958 New York City woman who has everything she’s ever wanted—the perfect husband, two kids, and an elegant Upper West Side apartment perfect for hosting Yom Kippur dinner. But her perfect life suddenly takes an unexpected turn and Midge discovers a previously unknown talent for standup comedy. (Variety)

Actor Rick Gonzalez and actress Juliana Harkavy have been promoted to series regulars for the sixth season of Arrow. (Deadline)

Actor Josh Stewart (Interstellar and Criminal Minds) has joined the cast of season 2 of Shooter, which follows the journey of Bob Lee Swagger (Ryan Phillippe), a highly decorated veteran who must confront a nemesis from his past in order to return to a life of normalcy. Stewart will play Solotov, an assassin with a connection to Bob Lee and his team from Afghanistan. (Deadline)

Calista Flockhart will return as Cat Grant on Supergirl for the two-episode season 2 finale.  Tyler Hoechlin will also return as Superman in an upcoming episode of The CW series.  (Deadline)

Actress Jewel Staite (Firefly, Serenity and Stargate: Atlantis) will guest star in Blindspot, playing a mysterious power broker whose allegiance is unknown to the team. (TV Line)

MOVIE NEWS

Actress Hannah John-Kamen (Killjoys and the upcoming film Ready Player One) has joined the cast of the latest incarnation of Tomb Raider that will star Alicia Vikander as the lead character, Lara Croft. John-Kamen will play Lara’s flatmate (aka roommate0 and best friend. The cast also includes Dominic West (The Affair), Daniel Wu (Into the Badlands) and Walt Goggins (The Hateful Eight). The film is set to release on March 16, 2018. (Deadline)

As we all know, Saturday night no longer features new TV programs [for the most part] unless they are shows that haven’t officially been pulled from the primetime line-up (yet) and/or are being burned off for the season.
