Actress Moon Bloodgood (Falling Skies) has joined the cast of Code Black in a recurring role. She will play Rox, a brassy and competitive paramedic who thinks fast on her feet and doesn’t scare easily. (TV Line)

Actor Jerry O’Connell (Sliders) will star in the cable network AXN’s new series called Carter, which follows an actor named Harley Mackay (O’Connell) who played a popular television detective, but after a public meltdown in Hollywood, leaves the business and returns to his sleepy hometown. There, he uses the skills he “learned” from playing a TV detective to become a real-life gumshoe. Actress Sydney Poitier (Chicago P.D. and Veronica Mars) will also star in the show, playing Mackay’s old pal and new partner. (TV Guide)

Actor Penn Badgley (Gossip Girl) has landed the lead role in the upcoming Lifetime thriller called You based on the Caroline Kepnes novel of the same name that will be overseen by uber-executive producer Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble (Supernatural and The Magicians). The series centers on Joe (Badgley), a bookstore manager who uses the hyper-connectivity of today’s technology to make the woman of his dreams fall in love with him, removing every obstacle—and person—in his way. (E! News)

Actor Ryan Kwanten (True Blood) will join Sean Bean in the Crackle original series The Oath that is set to debut next year. Created by Joe Halpin (Hawaii Five-0 and Secrets and Lies), who worked as a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy in South Central for 17 years, 12 of which as an undercover officer, the series takes ‎an unforgiving look at the complicated dynamics in these organizations and documents the lives of those willing to risk it all, to have it all. (Crackle Press Release)

Actress Freida Pinto (Guerrilla and the box office film Slumdog Millionaire) has joined the cast of the Hulu streaming series The Path for its 3rd season. She will play Vera, a sleek new publicist for the Meyerist movement, who forges a personal connection with Eddie (series lead Aaron Paul), but may have her own secret agenda. (Deadline)

Actor Eric Ladin (The Killing) has joined the cast of the History Channel’s series Six for its second season. He will play Trevor, an experienced SEAL who’s deadly on the job but also a loose cannon from another squadron who will join the team and disrupt the status quo. (Deadline)

Actress Molly Ringwald will be heading back to The CW series Riverdale for the show’s sophomore season, reprising her role of Archie’s mom. (Archie Comics Twitter Account and TV Guide)

Actor Daniel Dae Kim and actress Grace Park have left the long-running CBS series Hawaii Five-0 for the show’s upcoming 8th season. The reason? Both actors have been seeking pay equality with stars Alex O’Loughlin and Scott Caan, but weren’t able to reach a deal with CBS TV Studios. (Variety)

POTENTIAL PROGRAMMING

Syfy is looking to reboot the movie Tremors with actor Kevin Bacon reprising his original role. The pilot would pick up 25 years after the original film left off. The killer Graboid worms that nearly destroyed the small town of Perfection, Nevada 25 years are back and the town’s only hope for survival is Valentine McKee (Bacon) who beat them once, but to do it again, he’ll have to overcome age, alcohol and a delusional hero complex.
