Based on information provided by the Box Office Mojo and some internet research, here are just some of the movies you can expect to see in the movie theatres in October:

Blade Runner 2049
Opens: October 6

Officer K (Ryan Gosling), a new blade runner for the Los Angeles Police Department, unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. His discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former blade runner who’s been missing for 30 years. The cast includes Dave Bautista, Robin Wright, Jared Leto, Lennie James and Edward James Olmos [among others].

The Mountain Between Us
Opens: October 6

Stranded after a tragic plane crash, two strangers (Idris Elba and Kate Winslet) must forge a connection to survive the extreme elements of a remote snow covered mountain. When they realize help is not coming, they embark on a perilous journey across the wilderness. The film also stars Dermot Mulroney and Beau Bridges.

The Stray
Opens: October 6

Members of the Davis family are going through a hard time when a stray dog, Pluto, comes into their life and, in just a short time, saves a toddler, brings comfort to a 9-year-old boy, restores a marriage and repairs a broken father-son relationship. The cast includes Sarah Lancaster (Chuck) and Michael Cassidy (People of Earth).

Breathe
Opens: October 13

Robin Cavendish (Andrew Garfield), who after being given only three months to live after being paralyzed from the neck down by polio at age 28, becomes a pioneering advocate for the disabled. He and his devoted wife, Diana (Claire Foy), travel the world with the hopes of transforming the lives of others like him. The film also stars Tom Hollander and Hugh Bonneville.

Goodbye Christopher Robin
Opens: October 13

A.A. Milne (Domhnall Gleeson) finds inspiration for his Winnie-the-Pooh tales through his interactions with his young son Christopher Robin Milne. (newcomer Alex Lawther). The cast also features Margot Robbie and Kelly Macdonald.

Marshall
Opens: October 13

As the nation teeters on the brink of WWII, a nearly bankrupt NAACP sends Thurgood Marshall (Chadwick Boseman) to conservative Connecticut to defend a black chauffeur against his wealthy socialite employer in a sexual assault and attempted murder trial that quickly became tabloid fodder. In need of a high profile victory but muzzled by a segregationist court, Marshall is partnered with Samuel Friedman (Josh Gad), a young Jewish lawyer who has never tried a case. The film also stars Dan Stevens, Sophia Bush, Kate Hudson, James Cromwell, Sterling K. Brown and Jussie Smollett.

Professor Marston & the Wonder Women
Opens: October 13

The unconventional life story of Dr. William Marston (Luke Evans), Harvard psychologist and inventor, and the relationship between his wife and his lover, who became her lover after his death, that inspired the iconic super heroine Wonder Woman. The cast includes Rebecca Hall, Bella Heathcote, JJ Field, Oliver Platt and Connie Britton.

Geostorm
Opens: October 20

In the near future, when climate-controlling satellites malfunction and release disaster-creating small pods all over the world, Jake Lawson (Gerard Butler) and his other fellow astronauts head into space to prevent the satellites from programming the small pods into creating a storm of epic proportions. They soon discover that the disasters weren’t caused by a malfunction, but were done with intention and the only person who has the kill codes to shut down the satellites is President Andrew Palma (Andy Garcia). The cast includes Jim Sturgess, Abbie Cornish and Ed Harris.

Only the Brave
Opens: October 20

A drama based on the elite crew of firefighters who battled the Yarnell Hill Fire, a wildfire in Prescott, Arizona in June 2013 that claimed the lives of 19 members of their team. The film stars Josh Brolin, Miles Teller, Jeff Bridges, James Badge Dale, Taylor Kitsch, Jennifer Connelly, Andie MacDowell and Geoff Stults.

Same Kind of Different As Me
Opens: October 20

International art dealer Ron Hall (Greg Kinnear) befriends a homeless man (Djimon Hounsou) to save his struggling marriage to Deborah (Renée Zellweger), a woman whose dreams will lead all three of them on the most remarkable journey of their lives. The cast includes Jon Voight and Olivia Holt.

The Snowman
Opens: October 20

When an elite crime squad’s lead detective (Michael Fassbender) investigates the disappearance of a victim on the first snow of winter, he fears an elusive serial killer may be active again. With the help of a brilliant recruit (Rebecca Ferguson), the cop must connect decades-old cold cases to the brutal new one if he hopes to outwit this unthinkable evil before the next snowfall. The film also stars Charlotte Gainsbourg, J.K. Simmons, Chloe Sevigny, James D’Arcy, Toby Jones and Val Kilmer.

Wonderstruck
Opens: October 20

The film takes place in both 1927 and 1977. In the earlier time period, Rose (Millicent Simmonds) runs away from her New Jersey home to find her idol Lillian Mayhew (Julianne Moore). In the later time frame, Ben (Oakes Fegley) also runs away to New York after his mother’s death in search of his missing father. The cast also includes Michelle Williams.

All I See Is You
Opens: October 27

The plot tells the story of a blind woman (Blake Lively) and her husband (Jason Clarke). When her sight unexpectedly returns, she begins to discover the previously unseen and disturbing details about themselves, their marriage and their lives. The film also stars Yvonne Strahovski, Danny Huston and Wes Chatham.

Thank You For Your Service
Opens: October 27

The film follows three American soldiers returning from Iraq as they reintegrate with their families, adjust to civilian life and work to handle their memories of war. The cast includes Miles Teller, Haley Bennett and Keisha Castle-Hughes.

The new drama Ten Days in the Valley will debut on ABC on October 1 at 10 PM.

Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer) stars as Jane Sadler, an overworked television producer and single mother in the middle of a separation whose life is turned upside down when her young daughter goes missing in the middle of the night. Just like her controversial police TV show, everything is a mystery, everyone has a secret and no one can be trusted.

The cast includes Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Lost), Erika Christensen (Parenthood), Josh Randall (Ed) and Malcolm-Jamal Warner (Major Crimes) [among others].

On October 1, the new CBS drama Wisdom of the Crowd will debut at 8 PM.

Jeremy Piven stars as visionary tech innovator Jeffrey Tanner, who creates a cutting-edge crowdsourcing app to solve his daughter’s murder, and in doing so, revolutionizes crime solving in the process. The original cop who searched for his daughter’s killer, Det. Tommy Cavanaugh (Richard T. Jones) is recruited to work with him.

The cast also includes Monica Potter (Parenthood) and Natalia Tena (Game of Thrones and the Harry Potter franchise).

On September 30, the new Hallmark Channel movie Harvest Love will debut at 9 PM.

A widowed surgeon visits her family’s pear orchard in hopes of taking a break from her overbooked life and reconnecting with her distant son. She starts to fall for the farm manager, Will, who is growing a new hybrid pear and teaches her the importance of her heritage.

The film stars Jen Lilley (from the Hallmark Channel movie Eat, Play, Love) and Ryan Paevey (from Hallmark Channel movie Unleashing Mr. Darcy).

Here is the long list of programming options to expect on TV this coming week:

The fourth season premiere of Scorpion will air on CBS on September 25 at 10 PM. Also that same night, the new NBC military drama The Brave will debut at 10 PM. While D.I.A. Deputy Director Patricia Campbell (Anne Heche) and her team of analysts wield the world’s most advanced surveillance technology from Washington, D.C., Adam Dalton (Mike Vogel) and his heroic Special Ops squad of highly trained undercover specialists use their unbreakable bond and commitment to freedom to save lives of innocent people and execute missions in some of the most dangerous places in the world.

Also on September 25, the new ABC drama The Good Doctor will debut at 10:01 PM. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore from Bates Motel), a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome, relocates from a quiet country life to join a prestigious hospital’s surgical unit. Alone in the world and unable to personally connect with those around him, he uses his extraordinary medical gifts to save lives and challenge the skepticism of his colleagues.

The season premieres of the CBS dramas NCIS, Bull and NCIS: New Orleans will all air on September 26 at 8 PM, 9 PM and 10 PM respectively. Also that night, the second season premiere of Lethal Weapon will air on FOX at 8 PM while This Is Us will air its second season premiere also that night on NBC at 9 PM.

On September 26, the new NBC drama Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders will debut at 10 PM. This new 8-episode true-crime installment is a dramatization of the notorious murder case that changed America forever. When the Menendez brothers were tried on national TV for brutally killing their parents in Beverly Hills, their story became a national obsession.

The Blacklist will air its season premiere on NBC on September 27 at 8 PM while the FOX dramas Empire and Star will both air their season premieres also on September 27 at 8 PM and 9 PM respectively.

Also on September 27, the season premieres of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Chicago P.D. will air on NBC at 9 PM and 10 PM respectively; while that same night the ABC drama Designated Survivor will be back for the start of its second season at 10 PM; and the season finale of the OWN drama Greenleaf will also air that night at 10 PM.

The new CBS drama Seal Team will debut on September 27 at 9 PM followed by the season premiere of Criminal Minds at 10 PM. David Boreanaz (Bones and Angel) will star in Seal Team, which follows the professional and personal lives of the most elite unit of Navy SEALs as they train, plan and execute the most dangerous, high stakes missions our country can ask of them. Deployed on clandestine missions worldwide at a moment’s notice, and knowing the toll it takes on them and their families, this tight-knit SEAL team displays unwavering patriotism and fearless dedication, even in the face of overwhelming odds.

Also on September 27, the new 6-part SundanceTV drama Liar will debut at 10 PM. Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey) and Ioan Gruffudd (Fantastic Four) star as Laura Nielson, a bright and dedicated teacher, and Andrew Earlham, a renowned surgeon whose son is a student at Laura’s school. After a seemingly innocent date, a series of volatile accusations capsize their lives. Secrets and lies slowly unravel in a tense and gripping series where everyone is lying in some way until the truth ultimately reveals itself.

The two-hour season premiere of Grey’s Anatomy will air on ABC on September 28 at 8 PM followed by the season premiere of How to Get Away With Murder at 10 PM; meanwhile the season premiere of the NBC drama Chicago Fire will also air that night at 10 PM.

On September 29, the CBS dramas MacGyver, Hawaii Five-0 and Blue Bloods will all air their season premieres at 8 PM, 9 PM and 10 PM respectively; while that same night the second season premiere of The Exorcist will air on FOX at 9 PM and also that night the fourth season of the Syfy series Z Nation will premiere at 9 PM.

Tonight is the official start of the new fall TV season, but folks got a sneak peek at another new fall drama on CBS, but if you want to see more of this particular new show you will have to pay a fee to get CBS All Access.
