Here is the long list of the programming options to expect on TV this coming week:

On December 11, the mid-season finale of Valor will air on The CW at 9 PM.

The mid-season finales of Riverdale and Dynasty will air on The CW on December 13 at 8 PM and 9 PM respectively. Meanwhile, that same night (December 13), the season premiere of the fourth season of The Librarians will air on TNT at 8 PM.

On December 16, the Lifetime holiday film Snowed-Inn Christmas will debut at 8 PM, starring Bethany Joy Lenz (One Tree Hill) and Andrew Walker (When Calls the Heart).

The ION original holiday movie A Christmas Cruise will debut on December 16 at 9 PM, starring Vivica A. Fox and Kristoff St. John.

Also on December 16, the holiday movie Rocky Mountain Christmas will debut at 9 PM on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, starring Kristoffer Polaha, Lindy Booth and Treat Williams.

The Hallmark Channel movie Christmas Next Door will debut on December 16 at 8 PM, starring Jesse Metcalfe and Fiona Gubelmann.

Also on December 16, Ten Days in the Valley will roll out the rest of its debut season on ABC starting tonight at 9 PM. Two episodes will air tonight with the rest of the episodes set to air consecutively on Saturday nights.

The season finale of Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency will air on BBC America on December 16 at 9 PM.

On December 17, the holiday film Christmas Connection will debut on the Hallmark Channel at 8 PM, starring Brooke Burns and Tom Everett Scott.

Also on December 17, the PBS series Last Tango in Halifax will airs part 1 of the 2-part special at 8 PM [with the second part set to air on December 24.]

The new holiday movie Romance at Reindeer Lodge will debut on December 17 at 9 PM on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

Here are the news items for the past week:

RENEWAL/SERIES PICK-UP NEWS

Shooter has been renewed by the USA Network for a third season. (Variety)

EPIX has renewed the spy drama Berlin Station for a third season. (The Futon Critic)

Amazon has landed the right to the ensemble drama Life Itself from This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman. The film will star Oscar Isaac, Olivia Wilde, Annette Bening, Samuel L. Jackson, Antonio Banderas, Olivia Cooke and Mandy Patinkin, focusing on a multi-generational love story in which several characters are connected over the course of decades, from the streets of New York to the Spanish countryside and back. (The Hollywood Reporter)

Netflix is planning to adapt the fantasy saga The Witcher by Polis author Andrzej Sapkowski that chronicles monster hunters who, with training and body modification, develop supernatural abilities at a young age to battle deadly beasts. Lauren Schmidt Hissirch (Power, Daredevil and The Defenders) will serve as showrunner and executive producer. (Variety)

CASTING NEWS

Actress Alice Eve (Star Trek: Into Darkness) will join the cast of Marvel’s Iron Fist for its second season, but her role has yet to be announced. (The Futon Critic)

Actor Kevin Zegers (Gossip Girl and Gracepointe) has joined the cast of Fear the Walking Dead for the show’s fourth season, but his role is being kept under wraps. (Deadline)

Actress Amber Skye Noyes (The Deuce and Beauty and the Beast) has landed a recurring role on the third season of Quantico, playing Celine Fox, a new recruit of an elite black ops team. (Deadline)

Rock-n-roll icon Alice Cooper will play King Herod in Jesus Christ Superstar Live! which will debut on NBC on April 1. (The Hollywood Reporter)

Actor Michael Malarkey (The Vampire Diaries) has joined the cast of the History Channel’s upcoming 10-episode drama series Blue Book that chronicles the true top secret U.S. Air Force-sponsored investigations into UFO-related phenomena in the 1950s and ’60s, known as “Project Blue Book.” He will play Captain Michael Quinn, A decorated WWII hero. (Deadline)

Actress Jillian Rose Reed (Awkward.) will guest star in an upcoming episode of Lucifer, playing Cece, the quirky, bubbly and exceptionally-devoted personal assistant of a massive pop star — who also happens to be her best friend whose orbit she has lived in for years. (TV Line)

TV EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT

The 35th annual Paley Fest will be held early next year. Three of the panels have been announced: Stranger Things, Will & Grace and The Good Doctor. (Deadline)

November Cable Ratings

his year is almost over, but it’s time to look back at how the dramas, mini-series and made-for-TV movies performed in the ratings last month.

Let’s take a look at how all of the cable dramas performed during the month of October.

CABLE DRAMAS

MONDAYS:

The Halcyon – The new Ovation period piece drama aired the final three episodes of its debut season during the month, but no ratings could be tracked down. The Halcyon has yet to be renewed for a second season by Ovation.

TUESDAYS:

American Horror Story: Cult – The long-running FX anthology series aired the final two episodes of its current season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

November 7 – 1.8 million viewers
November 14 – 2 million viewers

This averages out to 1.9 million viewers for November. The next season of this anthology series will return to FX sometime in 2018.

Major Crimes – Four more new episodes of the sixth and final season of the TNT police drama aired during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

November 7 – 1.8 million viewers
November 14 – 1.7 million viewers
November 21 – 1.8 million viewers
November 28 – 2.4 million viewers

This averages out to 1.9 million viewers for November. A new episode of Major Crimes aired on December 5 with the next new episode set to air on TNT on Tuesday, December 12 at 9 PM.

Damnation – The 1930’s-based drama debuted on the USA Network on November 7, airing three episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

November 7 – 905,000 viewers (DEBUT)
November 14 – 765,000 viewers
November 21 – 791,000 viewers
November 28 – 805,000 viewers

This averages out to 817,000 viewers for November. A new episode of Damnation is set to air on the USA Network on Thursday, December 14 at 10 PM – on its new night.

The Long Road Home – The 8-part event series debuted on National Geographic on November 7, airing four episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

November 7 – 1.1 million viewers (DEBUT)
November 14 – 693,000 viewers
November 21 – 517,000 viewers
November 28 – 727,000 viewers

This averages out to 759,000 viewers for November. A new episode of The Long Road Home aired on December 5 with the next new episode set to air on National Geographic on Tuesday, December 12 at 10 PM.

WEDNESDAYS:

Queen Sugar – The OWN drama aired the final three episodes of its second season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

November 1 – 1.3 million viewers
November 8 – 1.2 million viewers
November 15 – 1.3 million viewers (Season Finale)

This averages out to 1.3 million viewers for November. Queen Sugar has been renewed for a third season by OWN.

Mr. Robot – The USA Network drama aired five new episodes of its third season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

November 1 – 552,000 viewers
November 8 – 521,000 viewers
November 15 – 598,000 viewers
November 22 – 545,000 viewers
November 29 – 444,000 viewers

This averages out to 532,000 viewers for November. A new episode of Mr. Robot aired on December 6 with the next new episode set to air on the USA Network on December 13 at 10 PM.

The Shannara Chronicles – The fantasy drama aired the final seven episodes of its second season during the month. The ratings for those are as follows:

November 1 – 156,000 viewers
November 8 – 240,000 viewers
November 8 – 265,000 viewers
November 15 – 270,000 viewers
November 15 – 284,000 viewers
November 22 – 257,000 viewers
November 22 – 239,000 viewers (Season Finale)

This averages out to 248,000 viewers for November. The Shannara Chronicles has yet to be renewed for a third season by SpikeTV, which will become the Paramount Network in January 2018.

Vikings – The 5th season of the period piece drama premiered on the History Channel on November 29, earning 2.2 million viewers. A new episode of Vikings aired on December 6 with the next episode set to air on the History Channel on Wednesday, December 13 at 9 PM.

THURSDAYS:

Van Helsing – The Syfy thriller aired four new episodes of its second season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

November 2 – 368,000 viewers
November 9 – 303,000 viewers
November 16 – 345,000 viewers
November 23 – No Episode Aired
November 30 – 335,000 viewers

This averages out to 338,000 viewers for November. A new episode of Van Helsing aired on December 7 with the next new episode set to air on Syfy on Thursday, December 14 at 9 PM.

Ghost Wars – The new thriller debuted on Syfy starting on October 5, airing four episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

November 2 – 331,000 viewers
November 9 – 324,000 viewers
November 16 – 326,000 viewers
November 23- No Episode Aired
November 30 – 251,000 viewers

This averages out to 308,000 viewers for November. A new episode of Ghost Wars aired on December 7 with the next new episode set to air on Syfy on Thursday, December 14 at 10 PM.

FRIDAYS:

Z Nation – The Syfy zombiefest series aired four more new episodes of its fourth season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

November 3 – 584,000 viewers
November 10 – 654,000 viewers
November 17 – 636,000 viewers
November 24 – 623,000 viewers

This averages out to 624,000 viewers for November. New episodes of Z Nation aired on December 1 and December 8 with the next new episodes set to air on Syfy on Friday, December 15 at 9 PM.

Superstition – The new Syfy thriller aired three episodes of its debut season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

November 3 – 402,000 viewers
November 10 – 396,000 viewers
November 17 – 347,000 viewers
November 24 – No Episode Aired

This averages out to 382,000 viewers for November. New episodes of Superstition aired on December 1 and December 8 with the next new episodes set to air on Syfy on Friday, December 15 at 10 PM.

SATURDAYS:

Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency – The BBC America drama aired four new episodes of its second season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

November 4 – 212,000 viewers
November 11 – 248,000 viewers
November 18 – 256,000 viewers
November 25 – 282,000 viewers

This averages out to 250,000 viewers for November. New episodes of Dirk Gently aired on December 2 and December 9 with the next new episode set to air on BBC America on Saturday, December 16 at 9 PM.

Versailles – The Ovation period piece drama aired four new episodes of its second season during November as well as its finale on December 1, but no ratings could be tracked down for any of those episodes. Versailles has yet to be renewed by Ovation for a third season.

SUNDAYS:

Outlander – The third season of the period piece drama aired four more new episodes on Starz during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

November 5 – 1.6 million viewers
November 12 – 1.5 million viewers
November 19 – 1.2 million viewers
November 26 – 1.4 million viewers

This averages out to 1.4 million viewers for November. A new episode aired of Outlander aired on December 3 and the season finale is airing on Starz tonight Sunday, December 10 at 8 PM.

Good Behavior – The TNT drama aired four new episode of its second season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

November 5 – 525,000 viewers
November 12 – 620,000 viewers
November 19 – 543,000 viewers
November 26 – 570,000 viewers

This averages out to 565,000 viewers for November. A new episode of Good Behavior aired on December 3 with the season finale set to air on TNT on Sunday, December 10 at 10 PM.

The Walking Dead – The zombie series actually returned for its 8th season premiere on October 22, airing two episodes during October and four episodes during November. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

October 22 – 11.4 million viewers (Season Premiere)
October 29 – 8.9 million viewers
November 5 – 8.5 million viewers
November 12 – 8.7 million viewers
November 19 – 7.8 million viewers
November 26 – 8.3 million viewers

This averages out to 10.2 million viewers for October and 8.3 million viewers for November. A new episode of The Walking Dead aired on December 3 and the mid-season finale is airing on AMC tonight Sunday, December 10 at 9 PM.

Poldark – The PBS period drama aired the final three episodes of its third season during the month, but ratings could not be tracked down for any of them. Poldark has yet to be renewed for a fourth season.

The Durrells in Corfu – The PBS drama aired the final three episodes of its second season during the month, but no ratings could be tracked down. The Durrells in Corfu has yet to be renewed for a third season.

Berlin Station – The spy drama on EPIX aired four new episodes of its second season during the month, but no ratings could be tracked down. The season finale aired of Berlin Station aired on EPIX on December 3.

MADE-FOR-TV MOVIES AND MINI-SERIES

There were over 30 made-for-TV movies – mostly holiday themed – that aired during November. Here are the ratings for those movies:
