It was a pretty full night of programming on the major networks last night with all of the Monday night dramas airing new episodes, including an early finale on CBS and the return of one of The CW’s shows.

Here is how all of the Monday night dramas fared in the overall ratings last night:

8 PM Shows:
Lucifer (FOX) [NEW] – 3.2 million viewers
Supergirl (The CW) [RETURN] – 1.9 million viewers

9 PM Shows:

Here is the list of the new programming options to expect on TV this coming week:

On April 16, the spring return of Supergirl will air on The CW at 8 PM and the season finale of Scorpion will also air on CBS at 10 PM.

Black Lightning will air its season finale on The CW on April 17 at 9 PM.

On April 18, The Looming Tower will air its season finale on Hulu online today while that same night the two-hour season finale of Criminal Minds will air at 9 PM on CBS and also on April 18, the final season of The Originals will get underway at 9 PM on The CW.

The series finale of Scandal will air on April 19 at 10 PM on ABC.

On April 20, Jane the Virgin will air its season finale on The CW at 9 PM and that same night the season finale of the WGN America drama Shoot the Messenger will air at 12 Midnight.

Lastly, the second season premiere of Westworld will air on HBO on April 22 at 9 PM while that same night the AMC drama Into the Badlands will air its season premiere at 10 PM and also When Calls the Heart will air its season finale on Hallmark Channel at 9 PM that night too.

The prime time landscape on the major networks on Saturday nights is usually very light on new programming, but the Canadian series Ransom returned for the start of its second season on CBS as of last week.

So I have combined the ratings for last night’s new episode as well as the ratings for last week’s season premiere below:

April 7 Season Premiere:

Ransom (CBS) – 2.7 million viewers

April 14 New Episode:

Ransom (CBS) – 2.6 million viewers

RENEWALS/CANCELLATIONS

BET has cancelled The Quad after two seasons. (Variety)

Jessica Jones has been renewed for a third season by Netflix. (Variety)

CASTING NEWS

Actor Colton Haynes will return to Arrow full time for the show’s 7th season. (The Hollywood Reporter)

Actor Anson Mount (Hell on Wheels) will take on the key role of Captain Christopher Pike in the second season of Star Trek: Discovery. (The Hollywood Reporter)

Actress Susan Sarandon will return to Ray Donovan as Samantha Winslow for the show’s upcoming 6th season. (The Hollywood Reporter)

Actor Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights) will take over the role of Colonel Cathcart in the Hulu series Catch-22, taking over the role originally set to be played by George Clooney. Clooney will take on the smaller role of Scheisskoft, a training commander. (Variety)

Actress Peyton List (Gotham and Frequency) and actors Wayne Brady (Whose Line Is It Anyway), Waleed Zuaiter (Altered Carbon) and Graham McTavish (Outlander) have all joined the cast of the USA Network series Colony for the upcoming 3rd season. List will play Amy Leonard, a doctor and member of the San Fernando cell, who embarks on a dangerous journey; Brady will play Everett Kynes, a highly successful tech entrepreneur who has risen in the new world to become the head of the rebuilt Seattle Colony; McTavish will play Andrew MacGregor, the leader of the most successful Resistance camp in what used to be the western United States and Zuaiter will play Vincent, a moral man who finds himself caught in an impossible position while working for a powerful Resistance group. MOVIE CASTING NEWS

Actor Gabriel Luna (Matador and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) has been cast as the Terminator in the new version of the James Cameron reboot of the franchise. (Deadline)

Actress Stana Katic (Castle) will appear in the untitled female-driven WW II spy drama based on the real-life spies in Winston Churchill’s secret army. The film will center on British intelligence officer Vera Atkins (Katic) and two of the women she sends to France as spies. (Deadline)
