On July 8, the series premiere of Sharp Objects will air on HBO at 9 PM.

Based on the book by New York Times bestselling author Gillian Flynn, this 8-episode series tells the story of reporter Camille Preaker (Amy Adams) who returns to her small hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. Trying to put together a psychological puzzle from her past, she finds herself identifying with the young victims a bit too closely.

The cast includes Chris Messina (The Mindy Project), Jackson Hurst (Drop Dead Diva), Elizabeth Perkins (Weeds), Matt Craven (NCIS), Jennifer Aspen (CSI), Patricia Clarkson (House of Cards) and Will Chase (Nashville) [among others].
