Here is the list of the programming options to expect on TV this coming week:
On August 6, the season premiere of the 4th season of Better Call Saul will air on AMC at 9 PM followed by the series premiere of Lodge 49 at 10 PM. Lodge 49 is set in Long Beach, California, focusing on a disarmingly optimistic local ex-surfer, Sean “Dud” Dudley (Wyatt Russell from 22 Jump Street), who’s drifting after the death of his father and collapse of the family business. Dud finds himself on the doorstep of a rundown fraternal lodge, where a middle-aged plumbing salesman and “Luminous Knight” of the order, Ernie Fontaine (Brent Jennings from Moneyball and Witness), welcomes him into a world of cheap beer, easy camaraderie and the promise of Alchemical mysteries that may – or may not – put Dud on the path to recover the idyllic life he’s lost.
The season finale of The 100 will air on August 7 at 8 PM on The CW; meanwhile that same night The Bold Type will also air its season finale on Freeform at 8 PM.
Also on August 7, the new 10-episode WGN America drama Carter will debut at 10 PM. This lighthearted detective comedy revolves around Harley Mackay (Jerry O’Connell from Slider and Billions), an actor playing a detective on a hit television show until he is forced to retreat to his sleepy hometown after an embarrassing public meltdown in Hollywood. Now that he’s back, he taps into his acting experience to become a real-life detective, partnering with his two best friends, Sam Shaw (Sydney Poitier Heartsong from Chicago P.D. and Veronica Mars) and Dave Leigh (Kristian Bruun from Orphan Black).
The season finale of Reverie will air on NBC on August 8 at 10 PM.
On August 10, the Netflix feature film The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society will debut online. A writer forms an unexpected bond with the residents of Guernsey Island in the aftermath of World War II, when she decides to write a book about their experiences during the war.
A new version of the film Freaky Friday will debut on Disney on August 10 at 8 PM. Cozi Zuehlsdorff (Dolphin Tale) and Heidi Blickenstaff (Broadway star of The Little Mermaid and the stage production of Freaky Friday) star in this music-driven, body-swap comedy about a mother and daughter who, strangely, spend a day in each other’s shoes.
On August 11, Love at Sea is the new Hallmark Channel movie that will debut at 9 PM, starring real-life husband and wife Alexa PenaVega and Carlos PenaVega in a movie about event planner Olivia who gets a game-changing opportunity to organize a major event on a luxury Caribbean cruise, hosted by her best friend, cooking and wellness star, Alexandra. She then meets her match in the charming Tony, who is on a trial run as Cruise Director, but they must work together to make the cruise go off without a hitch, for the sake of their careers and friendships.
The summer premiere of Fear the Walking Dead will air on AMC on August 12 at 9 PM.
Lastly on August 12, Garage Sale Mystery: The Mask Murder is the latest Hallmark Movies & Mysteries made-for-TV movie to debut at 9 PM. Jennifer Shannon (Lori Loughlin) discovers a dead body in the storage locker she and business partner Dani (Sarah Strange) have purchased at auction. When further inspection of the locker’s contents reveals plaster “death masks,” and one of those masks perfectly matches the dead woman’s visage, Jennifer’s “inner sleuth” kicks into overdrive as she works to piece together the clues that will lead to the killer.
