The small screen adaptation of the movie Hanna will debut on Amazon Prime on March 29.

The series follows the journey of an extraordinary young girl, Hanna (newcomer Esme Creed-Miles), as she evades the relentless pursuit of Marissa Wiegler (Mireille Enos) an off-book CIA agent and tries to unearth the truth behind who she is.

The cast includes Enos’s The Killing co-star Joel Kinnaman.

On March 29, the Netflix original film The Highwaymen will debut online.

The film follows Texas Ranger Frank Hamer (Kevin Costner) and ex-partner Maney Gault (Woody Harrelson). The lawmen were out of the Rangers by the time Bonnie & Clyde started their robbery reign, but were commissioned as special investigators, coaxed by a consortium of banks to assemble a posse and end the robbery spree of the notorious gang reputed to have killed 13 cops and others.

The cast includes Kathy Bates, John Carroll Lynch, Kim Dickens, Thomas Mann and William Sadler.

Here is the list of the programming options to expect on TV this week:

On March 25, the second season of Knightfall will start tonight at 10 PM on the History Channel.

Jane the Virgin will air its 5th and final season premiere on The CW on March 27 at 9 PM.

On March 28, the season finale of Legacies will air at 9 PM on The CW while that same night the new POP drama Flack will air its season finale at 10 PM.

The season finale of Strike Back will air on March 29 at 10 PM on Cinemax.

On March 30, the new Hallmark Channel movie A Brush with Love will debut at 8 PM, starring Arielle Kebbel and Nick Bateman.

Call the Midwife will air its season premiere on PBS on March 31 at 8 PM followed by the two-hour series premiere on Mrs. Wilson at 9 PM. Mrs Wilson, starring Ruth Wilson, who thinks she is happily married until her husband, Alec, dies and a woman turns up on her doorstep, claiming she is the real Mrs. Wilson. Alison is determined to prove both the validity of her marriage and Alec’s love for her, but is instead led into a world of disturbing secrets. This powerful drama inspired by her own grandmother’s memoir.

Lastly on March 31, The Walking Dead will air its season finale at 9 PM on AMC.

RENEWALS/CANCELLATIONS

Hulu has renewed Marvel’s Runaways for a third season. (The Hollywood Reporter)

Supernatural will be coming to an end after its 15 season, which will consist of 20 episodes, airing this fall. (Variety)

OWN has given a straight-to-series order to the new drama Cherish the Day that hails from Ava DuVernay. The anthology series will chronicle the romance of one couple, with each episode spanning a single day. The season-long narrative will unfold to reveal significant moments in a relationship that compel people to hold true to the ones they love, from the extraordinary to the everyday. The show is currently slated to debut in winter 2020. (Variety)

TV CASTING NEWS

Actress Miranda Richardson will be a series regular on the highly anticipated yet-untitled Game of Thrones prequel series. (Variety)

Actress Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey) and young actor Jaeden Martell (IT) will star alongside actor Chris Evans in the upcoming Apple limited series Defending Jacob based on the 2012 best-selling novel of the same name by William Landay that tells the story of Andy Barber (Evans), a father whose 14 year old son Jacob (Martell) is accused of murder. Dockery will star as Laurie Barber, Andy’s wife and Jacob’s mother. (Variety)

MOVIE CASTING NEWS

Actress Florence Pugh (The Little Drummer Girl) is anticipated to star alongside Scarlett Johansson in the upcoming Black Widow box office film that has been in development for quite some time. It’s unclear whether Black Widow will be an origin tale or set after the next Avengers film. (Variety)
