On May 21, the two-hour debut of Blood & Treasure will air on CBS at 9 PM. Matt Barr (Sleepy Hollow) and Sofia Pernas (The Brave) star as a brilliant antiquities expert and a cunning art thief (respectively), who team up to catch a ruthless terrorist who funds his attacks through stolen treasure. As they crisscross the globe hunting their target, they unexpectedly find themselves at the center of a 2,000-year-old battle for the cradle of civilization. The show will move to its regular timeslot of 10 PM on May 28.
On May 23, the new Sundance TV drama The Name of the Rose will debut at 10 PM. The limited series, set in Italy in 1327, follows the Franciscan monk William of Baskerville (John Turturro) and his novice Adso von Melk (Damian Hardung) as they arrive at a secluded monastery in the Alps. There they become witnesses to a series of mysterious murders. While Baskerville and Melk investigate and search for the killer, they are hunted themselves by the merciless inquisitor Bernard Gui (Rupert Everett), who prosecutes those who criticize the pope.
On May 24, the new DC Universe series Doom Patrol will debut online. This is a re-imagining of one of DC’s most beloved groups of outcast Super Heroes: Robotman (Brendan Fraser), Negative Man (Matt Bomer), Elasti-Girl (April Bowlby) and Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero) led by modern-day mad scientist Dr. Niles Caulder aka The Chief (Timothy Dalton). The Doom Patrol’s members each suffered horrible accidents that gave them superhuman abilities – but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatized and downtrodden, the team found purpose through The Chief, who brought them together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence – and to protect Earth from what they find. Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of super-powered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them. Picking up after the events of TITANS, DOOM PATROL will find these reluctant heroes in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse, but with a warning that is hard to ignore: their lives will never, ever be the same.
