The 50th Annual Comic Con came to a close in San Diego today with a few TV shows being highlighted, primarily the very last – EVER – panel for Supernatural.
Supernatural (The CW)
Given that this is the LAST time these guys will be on stage, and after 15 years, I wanted to provide several articles about their very last appearance at the convention.
You can also see a special video called “Restoring the Winchesters’ Impala” below:
There was also a BIG sizzle reel shown at this panel focusing on the past 14 years of the show. I hope that sizzle reel will be available for mass consumption soon.
It was a very low key kind of day at the convention for Roz, as she skipped all the panels, but did go see Chef Justin Warner (@eatfellowhumans), who worked all weekend with the Marvel staff, but was very sweet in between live streams today.

At the end of the con, she met up with some friends and their friends, and among those friends was C.B. Lee, the author of the Sidekick Squad series.

After all the excitement Roz had yesterday (it was Veronica Mars day yesterday after all), today was a bit more low key for her; but she did have a great time at the panel for The Good Place (which she will miss when it ends next year). She snapped a few pics of the panel, which you can find below:
She also sat in on the panel for The Expanse, which is reaping the financial benefits of all that Amazon money because the show has some amazing visuals. You can see her picture of the panel below:

Her day ended with a visit to Conanfor some sneak peeks at the new fantasy series Carnival Row and then a low-key meet up for the podcast Fansplaining where authors Britta Lundin (“Ship It”) and Rainbow Rowell (“Wayward Son”) made an appearance.

nExt (FOX)
This new FOX drama that hits a bit TOO close to home will debut in 2020. Here is the albeit long synopsis of the show:
nexXt is propulsive, fact-based thriller about the emergence of a deadly, rogue artificial intelligence that asks us to look closely not only at our relationship to technology, but to one another. Silicon Valley pioneer Paul LeBlanc (John Slattery, Mad Men) built a fortune and legacy on the world-changing innovations he dreamed up, while ignoring and alienating the people around him, including his own daughter, Abby (Elizabeth Cappucino, Jessica Jones), and his short-sighted younger brother, Ted (Jason Butler Harner, Ozark), who now runs Paul’s company.
After discovering that one of his own creations – a powerful A.I. called neXt – might spell doom for humankind, Paul tried to shutter the project, only to be kicked out of the company by his own brother, leaving him with nothing but mounting dread about the fate of the world.
When a series of unsettling tech mishaps points to a potential worldwide crisis, LeBlanc joins forces with Special Agent Shea Salazar (Fernanda Andrade, The First). Having escaped crime, poverty and a deadly criminal father to remake herself as a force for good, Salazar’s strict moral code and sense of duty have earned her the respect of her team – a talented but contentious group held together by her faith in their ability to defy expectations and transcend their differences, including Gina (Eve Harlow, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), a high-strung cybercrime agent; Ben (Aaron Moten, Mozart in the Jungle), a straight-laced, buttoned-up hard worker, who is boring to the point of being interesting; and CM (Michael Mosley, Seven Seconds), an ex-con hacker with a genius IQ. But the demands of Shea’s challenging job have taken their toll on her home life, where Salazar’s young son, Owen (Evan Whitten, The Resident), has been raised primarily by his father, Ty (Gerardo Celasco, The Haves and the Have Nots), a recovering alcoholic.
Now, LeBlanc and Salazar are the only ones standing in the way of a potential global catastrophe, fighting an emergent super-intelligence that, instead of launching missiles, will deploy the immense knowledge it has gleaned from the data all around us to recruit allies, turn people against each other and eliminate obstacles to its own survival and growth.
Here is a poster for neXt that was part of a giveaway at the con:

Day two of San Diego Comic Con 2019 was jam-packed with LOTS and LOTS of TV show panels and so much more.
Let’s take a look at just some of the TV shows that were on tap today. [There will be more coverage on day two of Comic Con sometime tomorrow.]
Veronica Mars (Hulu)
Hulu has made season 4 available NOW rather than on July 26 as originally planned. You can now binge-watch all 8 episodes. What are you waiting for?!! Seriously, get over to Hulu and watch.
Best of all, our very own Roz dedicated a lot of her day today to the show, getting a chance to pose for quick selfies with some of the cast. Check out her great photos below:

Also, Kristen Bell got to meet Lin-Manuel Miranda – Hamilton himself – for the first time EVER – and it was swoon worthy.

On the panel this year were actors John Bradley (Game of Thrones), Cameron Cuffe (Krypton), Michael Emerson (soon to be seen in CBS’s Evil), Aiden Gillen (Project Blue Book and formerly of Game of Thrones), Cress Williams (Black Lightning) and William Zabka (Cobra Kai).
Henry Cavill shared during the panel that he “is a big gamer. I’ve played the games a lot. There was something about Geralt that struck a chord with me.” He also shared that he did his own stunts. “It’s very important for me that you know it’s Geralt and it’s not some guy doing Geralt’s stuff but it’s me in there.”
In fact, he learned how to wield two swords – one silver for monsters and one steel for people. And, there is some speculation that perhaps The Witcher just MIGHT take over the mantel of Game of Thrones.
In short the series is about the witcher, Geralt, a mutated monster hunter, who struggles to find his place in a world where people prove more wicked than beasts.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Norman Reedus (Negan and Daryl of The Walking Dead) also appeared on Conan yesterday – it wasn’t just Tom Cruise – pretending to be two 16-year-old girls who are cosplayers.
Check out the video here:
OTHER TIDBITS
It should also be noted that there will be TWO more Halloween movies, they will be sequels to the 2018 Halloween movie. It was stated by Blumhouse, “the saga of Michael Myers and Laurie Strode isn’t over.”
One of my fellow NiceGirls TV staff, Lisa, had the chance to not only meet Orlando Jones (American God and Sleepy Hollow) – you can see the picture below – but she also got to sing with him on the karaoke bus that was winding its way around San Diego during the con. I hope to have video of that soon.
