July was a very busy month for all of the cable dramas while there were a little more than a handful of made-for-TV movies airing during the month.

First let’s take a look at the dramas:

CABLE DRAMAS

MONDAYS:

Legion – The third and final season of the FX drama aired five episodes during July with the very last two episodes (ever) airing in August. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 1 – 381,000 viewers
July 8 – 370,000 viewers
July 15 – 277,000 viewers
July 22 – 288,000 viewers
July 29 – 332,000 viewers
August 5 – 288,000 viewers
August 12 – 365,000 viewers (Series Finale)

This averages out to 329,000 viewers for that time frame.

Years and Years – The new HBO drama aired its remaining five episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 1 – 229,000 viewers
July 8 – 171,000 viewers
July 15 – 181,000 viewers
July 22 – 189,000 viewers
July 29 – 265,000 viewers (Series Finale)

This averages out to 207,000 viewers for July. HBO has NOT renewed the show for a second season.

TUESDAYS:

Animal Kingdom – The TNT crime drama aired five episodes during July. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 2 – 1.1 million viewers
July 9 – 1.1 million viewers
July 16 – 1.3 million viewers
July 23 – 1.1 million viewers
July 30 – 1.1 million viewers

This averages out to 1.1 million viewers for July. New episodes aired on August 6 and August 13 with the next new episode of Animal Kingdom set to air on TNT on Tuesday, August 20 at 9 PM.

Pose – The FX drama returned for the start of its second season on June 11, airing three episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 2 – 589,000 viewers
July 9 – 580,000 viewers
July 16 – 497,000 viewers
July 23 – 505,000 viewers
July 30 – 405,000 viewers

This averages out to 515,000 viewers for July. New episodes aired on August 6 and August 13 with the next new episode of Pose set to air on FX on Tuesday, August 20 at 10 PM.

Good Trouble – The Freeform spin-off to The Fosters aired five during July with its summer finale airing on August 6. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 2 – 360,000 viewers
July 9 – 290,000 viewers
July 16 – 310,000 viewers
July 23 – 303,000 viewers
July 30 – 228,000 viewers (Summer Finale)

This averages out to 298,000 for that time period. Good Trouble will return to Freeform sometime during the 2019-2020 TV season.

Ambitions – The new OWN soap opera aired five new episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 2 – 1.1 million viewers
July 9 – 752,000 viewers
July 16 – 587,000 viewers
July 23 – 707,000 viewers
July 30 – 682,000 viewers

This averages out to 766,000 viewers for July. New episodes aired on August 6 and August 13 with the next new episode of Ambitions set to air on OWN on Tuesday, August 20 at 10 PM.

The Disappearance – The new WGN America limited series drama debuted on July 9, airing four episodes during July and the final two episodes in August. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 9 – 139,000 viewers (DEBUT)
July 16 – 141,000 viewers
July 23 – 129,000 viewers
July 30 – 135,000 viewers
August 6 – 115,000 viewers
August 13 – 127,000 viewers (Finale)

This averages out to 129,000 for that time period. This was a limited series produced for Canadian TV, and there is no word whether there will be a second season or not.

WEDNESDAYS:

Krypton – The Syfy series aired five new episodes from its second season during the month as well as the final two episodes of its second season in August. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 3 – 454,000 viewers
July 10 – 379,000 viewers
July 17 – 371,000 viewers
July 24 – 460,000 viewers
July 31 – 381,000 viewers
August 7 – 605,000 viewers
August 14 – 350,000 viewers (Finale)

This averages out to 429,000 viewers for that time period. There is no word from Syfy yet if Krypton will get a third season. UPDATE: Syfy announced that Krypton will NOT be renewed for a third season.

Queen Sugar – The fourth season of the OWN drama aired four more new episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 3 – 1 million viewers
July 10 – 1.2 million viewers
July 17 – No Episode Aired
July 24 – 952,000 viewers
July 31 – 951,000 viewers

This averages out to 1.1 million viewers for July. New episodes aired on August 7 and August 14 with the next new episode of Queen Sugar set to air on OWN on Wednesday, August 21 at 9 PM.

Younger – The half-hour TV Land dramedy aired four new episodes from its 6th season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 3 – No Episode Aired
July 10 – 648,000 viewers
July 17 – 634,000 viewers
July 24 – 498,000 viewers
July 31 – 454,000 viewers

This averages out to 559,000 viewers for July. New episodes aired on August 7 and August 14 with the next new episode of Younger set to air on TV Land on Wednesday, August 21 at 10 PM.

Yellowstone – The Paramount Network drama aired four new episodes from its second season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 3 – No Episode Aired
July 10 – 2.3 million viewers
July 17 – 2.1 million viewers
July 24 – 2.2 million viewers
July 31 – 2.3 million viewers

This averages out to 2.2 million viewers for July. New episodes aired on August 7 and August 14 with the next new episode of Yellowstone set to air on the Paramount Network set to air on Wednesday, August 21 at 10 PM.

Suits – The long-running legal drama started its 9th and final season on the USA Network on July 17, airing three episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 17 – 1 million viewers (Season Premiere)
July 24 – 1 million viewers
July 31 – 944,000 viewers

This averages out to 981,000 viewers for July. New episodes aired on August 7 and August 14 with the next new episode of Suits set to air on the USA Network on Wednesday, August 21 at 9 PM.

Pearson – The Suits spin-off debuted on July 17 on the USA Network, airing three episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 17 – 570,000 viewers (DEBUT)
July 24 – 556,000 viewers
July 31 – 468,000 viewers

This averages out to 531,000 for July. New episodes aired on August 7 and August 14 with the next new episode of Pearson set to air on the USA Network on Wednesday, August 21 at 10 PM.

THURSDAYS:

Queen of the South – The USA Network drama aired four new episodes from 4th season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 4 – 720,000 viewers
July 11 – 868,000 viewers
July 18 – 938,000 viewers
July 25 – 1 million viewers

This averages out to 882,000 viewers for July. New episodes aired on August 1 and August 8 with the next new episode of Queen of the South set to air on the USA Network on Thursday, August 15 at 10 PM.

Siren – The Freeform mermaid drama aired the remaining episodes of its 2nd season during July, ending with its season finale on August 1. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 4 – No Episode Aired
July 11 – 415,000 viewers
July 18 – 409,000 viewers
July 25 – 525,000 viewers
August 1 – 435,000 viewers (Season Finale)

This averages out to 446,000 viewers for July. Siren was renewed for a third season by Freeform, and will return sometime next year.

FRIDAYS:

Jett – The new Cinemax drama starring Carla Gugino aired four more new episodes during the month as well as the final two episodes in August. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 5 – 125,000 viewers
July 12 – 178,000 viewers
July 19 – 133 ,000 viewers
July 26 – 134,000 viewers
August 2 – 109,000 viewers
August 9 – 121,000 viewers (Finale)

This averages out to 133,000 for that time period. Cinemax has yet to renew Jett for a second season.

Killjoys – The 5th and final season of the Syfy favorite aired is season premiere on July 19, airing two episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 19 – 324,000 viewers (Season Premiere)
July 26 – 268,000 viewers

This averages out to 296,000 viewers for July. New episodes aired on August 2 and August 9 with the next new episode of Killjoys set to air on Syfy on Friday, August 16 at 10 PM.

SATURDAYS:

Frankie Drake Mysteries – The Canadian drama aired the final 6 episodes of its debut season and the first 2 episodes of its 2nd season throughout July but ratings could not be tracked down for those episodes. Double episodes aired on August 3 and August 10 with the next two episodes of Frankie Drake Mysteries set to air on Ovation on Saturday, August 17 at 7 PM.

SUNDAYS:

American Princess – The Lifetime renaissance-themed drama aired its final two episodes of its first season on July 7. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 7 – 170,000 viewers (Season Finale – Hour 1)
July 7 – 124,000 viewers (Season Finale – Hour 2)

This averages out to 147,000 viewers for July. American Princess has yet to receive a second season order by Lifetime.

Fear the Walking Dead – The AMC zombiefest series aired three new episodes from its 5th season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 7 – 1.5 million viewers
July 14 – 1.4 million viewers
July 21 – 1.6 million viewers (Summer Break)

This averages out to 1.8 million viewers for July. Fear the Walking Dead returned with a new episode on August 11 with the next new episode set to air on AMC on Sunday, August 18 at 9 PM.

NOS4A2 – The new AMC thriller debuted on June 2, airing 5 episodes during the month, including its two our season finale. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 7 – 666,000 viewers
July 14 – 660,000 viewers
July 21 – 775,000 viewers
July 28 – 676,000 viewers (Season Finale – Hour 1)
July 28 – 676,000 viewers (Season Finale – Hour 2)

This averages out to 691,000 for July. AMC has renewed NOS4A2 for a second season that will air sometime next year.

Big Little Lies – The second season of the HBO drama aired the final 3 episodes of its second season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 7 – 1.8 million viewers
July 14 – 1.6 million viewers
July 21 – 2 million viewers (Finale)

This averages out to 1.8 million viewers for July. HBO has yet to renew Big Little Lies for a third season.

Claws – The third season of the TNT drama aired four new episodes on both TNT and TBS during the month. The ratings for those episodes, per each network, are as follows:

TNT:

July 7 – 736,000 viewers
July 14 – 807,000 viewers
July 21 – 892,000 viewers
July 28 – 729,000 viewers

This averages out to 809,000 for TNT and 432,000 for TBS for July. Claws has yet to be renewed for a fourth season by TNT.

Good Witch – The popular Hallmark Channel family drama aired two new episodes of its 5th season during the month (it was on a two-week break for Christmas in July). The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 7 – 1.9 million viewers
July 28 – 2.1 million viewers

This averages out to 2. million viewers for June. New episodes aired on August 4 and August 11 with the season finale of Good Witch set to air on the Hallmark Channel on Sunday, August 18 at 8 PM.

Euphoria – The HBO drama focused on teenagers aired four new episodes of its debut season during the month as well as its finale on August 4. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 7 – 609,000 viewers
July 14 – 579,000 viewers
July 21 – 569,000 viewers
July 28 – 549,000 viewers
August 4 – 530,000 viewers (Season Finale)

This averages out to 567,000 viewers for that time period. Euphoria will be back for a second season on HBO sometime next year.

City on a Hill – The Showtime drama set in the 1990s debuted aired four more new episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 7 – 411,000 viewers
July 14 – 459,000 viewers
July 21 – 406,000 viewers
July 28 – 534,000 viewers

This averages out to 453,000 viewers for July. New episodes aired on August 4 and August 11 with the season finale of City on a Hill set to air on Showtime on Sunday, August 18 at 9 PM.

The Rook – The sci-fi laced Starz drama aired four new episodes from its debut season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 7 – 288,000 viewers
July 14 – 228,000 viewers
July 21 – 220,000 viewers
July 28 – 216,000 viewers

This averages out to 238,000 for July. New episodes aired on August 4 and August 11 with the season finale of The Rook set to air on Starz on Sunday, August 18 at 8 PM.

The Loudest Voice – The 7-part limited series about Roger Ailes aired four new episodes of its limited run during the month and the final two episodes in August The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 7 – 356,000 viewers
July 14 – 343,000 viewers
July 21 – 354,000 viewers
July 28 – 359,000 viewers
August 4 – 419,000 viewers
August 11 – 477,000 viewers

This averages out to 385,000 for that time period. Since The Loudest Voice was a limited series there will be only one season on Showtime.

Sweetbitter – The half-hour Starz drama returned for its second season on July 14, airing three episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 14 – 119,000 viewers
July 21 – 95,000 viewers
July 28 – 99,000 viewers

This averages out to 104,000 viewers for July. New episodes aired on August 4 and August 11 with the season finale of Sweetbitter set to air on Starz on Sunday, August 18 at 9:30 PM.

Pennyworth – The new EPIX drama focusing on Bruce Wayne’s faithful butler in his early years debuted on July 28, but no ratings could be tracked down for the episode. New episodes aired on August 4 and August 11 with the next new episode of Pennyworth set to air on EPIX on Sunday, August 18 at 9 PM.

Perpetual Grace, LTD – The new EPIX drama aired four episodes during the month as well as the finale on August 4, but ratings could not be tracked down. EPIX has yet to announce if Perpetual Grace, LTD will be renewed for a second season.

Grantchester – The popular PBS period drama returned for its fourth season on July 14, airing three episodes during July and its final two episodes in August, but no ratings for those episodes could be tracked down. A fifth season of Grantchester will return to PBS sometime next year.

MADE-FOR-TV MOVIES AND MINI-SERIES

There were 9 made-for-TV movies which aired during July. Here are the ratings for those movies that could be tracked down:

The 6 episode third season of the MTV series Scream moved over to sister network VH1 for a three-night event airing on July 8, July 9 and July 10, airing two episodes each night. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 8 (Episode 1) – 787,000 viewers
July 8 (Episode 2) – 601,000 viewers
July 9 (Episode 1) – 401,000 viewers
July 9 (Episode 2) – 342,000 viewers
July 10 (Episode 1) – 383,000 viewers
July 10 (Episode 2) – 330,000 viewers

This averages out to 474,000 viewers. Scream has yet to be renewed for a fourth season by VH1 (MTV).

Ratings results for the cable dramas, mini-series and made-for-TV movies that have and will air in August that can be tracked down will be provided as soon as possible in September.
