Here is the list of the programming options to expect on TV this coming week:
On October 19, the season finale of The Third Day will air on HBO at 9 PM.
The movie Rebecca will debut on Netflix on October 21. A young newlywed arrives at her husband’s imposing family estate on a windswept English coast and finds herself battling the shadow of his first wife, Rebecca, whose legacy lives on in the house long after her death. The cast includes Lily James, Armie Hammer, Kristin Scott Thomas, Keeley Hawes and Ann Dowd.
On October 22, the box office movie Roald Dahl’s The Witches (that was to be released in theatres) will actually debut on HBO Max. The movie tells the story of a young boy (Jahzir Bruno and voiced by Chris Rock as an adult) who stumbles upon a secret coven of witches, and, with the help of his loving grandmother (Octavia Spencer), must try to foil their evil plan to turn all the world’s children into mice. The cast includes Anne Hathaway as the menacing Grand High Witch, Kristin Chenoweth and Stanley Tucci.
The Netflix 6-episode mini-series The Queen’s Gambit will debut online on October 23. During the Cold War era, an orphaned chess prodigy (Anya Taylor-Joy) struggles with addiction on a quest to become the greatest player in the world. The cast includes Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Harry Melling.
Also on October 23, the Lifetime holiday movie Christmas on Ice will debut at 8 PM. Courtney Bennett (Abigail Klein), a former US figure skating hopeful, runs the city’s public skating rink but when the Mayor announces its closing, Courtney is heartbroken but determined to save it. After Courtney’s attempts to warm the Mayor’s Scrooge-like heart fail, she enlists the help of Noah Tremblay (Ryan Cooper), a former professional hockey player and single dad, who owns the new indoor skating center, to help her, and together they find more than just the spirit of holidays on the ice.
The holiday movie Christmas Unwrapped will debut on Lifetime on October 24 at 8 PM. The movie follows Charity (Amber Stevens West), an ambitious reporter, who learns the true meaning of Christmas when she investigates Erik Gallagher (Marco Grazzini), a beloved member of the town who insists all the gifts he provides are from none-other than Santa himself. Cheryl Ladd also stars.
Also on October 24, the Hallmark Channel holiday movie Jingle Bell Bride will debut at 8 PM. Wedding planner Jessica Perez (Julie Gonzalo) travels to a remote town in Alaska to find a rare flower for a celebrity client and is charmed by the small town during Christmas, as well as the handsome local (Ronnie Rowe Jr.) helping her.
The Hallmark Movies & Mysteries holiday movie Christmas Tree Lane will debut on October 24 at 9 PM. Music store owner Meg (Alicia Witt) spearheads the community effort to save the Christmas Tree Lane shopping district from demolition. As she finds herself falling for Nate (Andrew Walker), a recent acquaintance, she’s thrown when she learns his surprising tie to the developer.
On October 25, the PBS series Flesh and Blood will air it season finale at 9 PM.
The movie Forever Christmas [also known as Mr. 365 as shown on Passionflix] will debut on Lifetime on October 25 at 8 PM. When workaholic reality TV producer Sophie (Chelsea Hobbs) starts working on a holiday-season show about Will (Christopher Russell), a wildly sexy guy who celebrates Christmas every day of the year, she finds herself falling for her mysterious, unlikely new star, renewing her long-lost faith in Christmas in the process.
On October 25, Chateau Christmas will debut on the Hallmark Channel at 8 PM. Margot (Merritt Patterson), a world-renowned pianist, returns to Chateau Newhaus to spend the holidays with her family and is reunited with an ex (Luke Macfarlane) who helps her rediscover her passion for music.
The Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movie Deliver by Christmas will debut on October 25 at 9 PM. Bakery owner Molly (Alvina August) meets Josh (Eion Bailey), a widower who recently moved to town with his young son, but she is also charmed by a mysterious client whom she’s never met in person and doesn’t realize that they’re the same man.
Lastly, also on October 25, the 6-episode HBO limited series The Undoing will debut at 9 PM. The series follows Grace (Nicole Kidman) and Jonathan Fraser (Hugh Grant), who are living the only lives they ever wanted for themselves. Overnight, a chasm opens in their lives: a violent death and a chain of terrible revelations. Left behind in the wake of a spreading and very public disaster and horrified by the ways in which she has failed to heed her own advice, Grace must dismantle one life and create another for her child and her family. The cast includes Donald Sutherland, Edgar Ramirez, Lily Rabe and Ismael Cruz Cordova.
