On October 10, the Hallmark Channel movie My Best Friend’s Bouquet will debut at 9 PM.

According to Josie Hughes’ (Chaley Rose) family lore, the wedding bouquet always finds the right person. When single Josie catches her friend Emma’s (Luisa d’Oliveira) bouquet instead of their not-single friend Athena (Rebecca Olson), she fears she’s ruined Athena’s chances of getting engaged. When Josie starts dating an eligible bachelor she met at the reception, she decides the bouquet is at work. What she doesn’t know is her long-time friend Alex (Nathan Witte) secretly holds a torch for her. As Josie clings to the notion that the bouquet is always right, she’s missing real-world signs that her perfect match has been in front of her all along.

The new drama The Right Stuff will debut on Disney+ on October 9.

The incredible story of the early days of the U.S. space program, based on the iconic bestseller by Tom Wolfe. At the height of the Cold War, newly-formed NASA selects seven of the military’s best test pilots to become astronauts. Competing to be the first in space, these men achieve the extraordinary, inspiring the world to turn towards a new horizon of ambition and hope.

The ensemble cast includes Colin O’Donoghue, Danny Strong, Eloise Mumford, Eric Ladin, Jake McDorman, James Lafferty, Josh Cooke, Nora Zehetner, Patrick Fischler, Patrick J. Adams and Shannon Lucio.

Here is the list of the programming options to expect on TV this coming week:

On October 5, the AMC drama Soulmates will debut at 10 PM.  Set fifteen years into the future, when science has made a discovery that changes the lives of everyone on the planet – a test that unequivocally tells you who your soulmate is. The cast includes Betsy Brandt, David Costabile, J.J. Feild, Joe Anderson, Malin Akerman and Sarah Snook.

The new FOX drama NEXT will debut on October 6 at 9 PM. This propulsive, fact-based thriller about the emergence of a deadly, rogue artificial intelligence that combines pulse-pounding action with a layered examination of how technology is invading our lives. John Slattery stars as a Silicon Valley pioneer, who discovers that one of his own creations – a powerful A.I. – might spell global catastrophe. He teams up with a cybercrime agent (Fernanda Andrade) to fight a villain unlike anything we’ve ever seen – one whose greatest weapon against us is ourselves. The cast includes Eve Harlow, Jason Butler Harner and Michael Mosely.

Also on October 6, the thriller Swamp Thing will make its broadcast debut on The CW at 8 PM. The show follows Abby Arcane (Crystal Reed) as she investigates what seems to be a deadly swamp-born virus in a small town in Louisiana but soon discovers that the swamp holds mystical and terrifying secrets. The cast includes Derek Mears as Swamp Thing, Ian Ziering, Jennifer Beals, Henderson Wade, Michael Beach, Virginia Madsen, Will Patton and Kevin Durand.

The Hulu film Books of Blood will debut online on October 7. Based on the Clive Barker horror anthology, the film takes audiences on a journey into uncharted and forbidden territory through three uncanny tales tangled in space and time. The cast includes Britt Robertson, Anna Friel, Rafi Gavron and Yul Vazquez.

Also on October 7, the new series Devils will debut on The CW at 8 PM followed by the premiere of the second season of Coroner at 9 PM.  Devils is an international thriller follows Massimo Ruggero (Alessandro Borghi), the charismatic yet ruthless Head of Trading at NYL, one of the world’s most important investment banks, and his mentor, NYL’s CEO Dominic Morgan (Patrick Dempsey from Grey’s Anatomy). After Dominic appoints another colleague over Massimo following a bitter promotion battle, Massimo finds himself named prime suspect in a murder investigation. Fighting to clear his name, Massimo becomes involved in an intercontinental financial war and is forced to choose between supporting Dominic or going up against him. The cast includes Lars Mikkelsen and Malachi Kirby.

The box office movie Charm City Kings will debut on HBO Max on October 8.  Fourteen-year-old Mouse (Jahi Di’Allo Winston) desperately wants to join the Midnight Clique, an infamous group of Baltimore dirt-bike riders who rule the summertime streets. The movie also stars Meek Mill and Will Catlett.

Also on October 8, Supernatural will return for the start of its final 7 episodes (EVER!) on The CW at 8 PM followed by the third season premiere of The Outpost at 9 PM.

The season finale of the second season of The Boys will air on Amazon Prime on October 9.

The 2013 crime drama The Fall will debut on Ovation at 7 PM on October 10.  Metropolitan Police Superintendent Stella Gibson (Gillian Anderson), a senior investigating officer who reviews investigations, is seconded to the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) to assess the progress of a murder investigation that has remained active for longer than 28 days. When it becomes apparent that a serial killer is on the loose, local detectives must work with Stella to find and capture Paul Spector, who is attacking young professional women in the city of Belfast. As time passes Stella’s team works tirelessly to build a case but they are met with complications inside and outside the PSNI. Jamie Dornan also stars (as serial killer Paul Spector).

On October 11, the second season of The Spanish Princess will premiere on Starz at 8 PM.

The UPtv movie Happily Never After will debut on October 11 at 7 PM.  A novelist believes her torturous writing days with her ex-boyfriend are long over, until her publisher demands a sequel to a book they wrote and old feelings start to surface. The film stars Danielle Savre, Rick Cosnett and Bianca Santos.

On October 11, Fear the Walking Dead will air its premiere episode of its sixth season on AMC at 9 PM.

Lastly, also on October 11, the new movie Picture Perfect Mysteries: Exit Stage Death will debut on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries at 9 PM.  While backstage on opening night of a new play by celebrated murder mystery author/director Neil Khan, photographer Allie Adams (Alexa PenaVega) discovers the body of the show’s leading lady, murdered before the curtain went up. As Willow Haven PD Detective Sam Acosta (Carlos PenaVega) launches his investigation, he invites Allie – who has been helpful in solving his first two murder cases since joining the force — to unofficially assist him on the. case. However, Allie’s involvement makes her a target for murder herself when she gets too close to the truth. Willie Aames also stars.

RENEWALS

Cobra Kai has been given a fourth season renewal with the third season set to debut on Netflix on January 8, 2021. (Variety)

Billions has been renewed for a sixth season by Showtime and five new episodes of Season 5 will air in 2021. (Variety)

DEVELOPMENT NEWS

A sequel movie to Enola Holmes, which debuted on Netflix last month, is being planned with lead actress Millie Bobby Brown very interested in reprising her role. Sources also report there is a spin-off being discussed that would focus on Sherlock himself, played by Henry Cavill. (We Got This Covered)

Actress Joey King (The Act) will executive produce and star in the Netflix film adaptation of the international best-selling dystopian fantasy novel Uglies by Scott Westerfeld, which is set in a world in which a compulsory operation at 16 makes everyone pretty by conforming to an ideal standard of beauty. CASTING NEWS

Actor Aaron Ashmore and actress Hallea Jones have been promoted to series regulars for season two of the Netflix thriller Locke & Key. Ashmore played Duncan Locke, a family member with a history with the keys while Jones played Eden Hawkins, former high school mean girl now newly minted demon. Also actor Brendan Hines has joined as new series regular Josh Bennett, a charismatic and mysterious new history teacher with a secret agenda. (Deadline)

Newcomer Iman Vellani will play Ms. Marvel (aka Kamala Khan) in the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel, the 16-year-old Muslim teenager who lives in Jersey City, New Jersey, who has the Inhuman ability to alter shape and size. (Variety)

Actress Bex Taylor-Klaus (Arrow and Deputy) has joined the cast of the ABC medical drama pilot Triage that will star Parisa Fitz-Henley (Midnight, Texas) as pioneering surgeon Finley Briar. The series will follow Briar over three distinct decades at the same hospital. Taylor-Klaus will play Leonora/Leo, the gender-fluid youngest first-year intern at New York Trinity and mentee of Briar. Actress Chelsea Field has been promoted to series regular on NCIS: New Orleans, where she has been recurring as Rita Devereaux since season 3. (Deadline)

Actress Erinn Westbrook (The Resident) has joined the cast of Riverdale as a new series regular for the show’s upcoming 5th season, playing Tabitha Tate, the ambitious, entrepreneurial granddaughter of Pop Tate, who has come to Riverdale to take over Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe in the hopes of franchising the iconic diner, even as the town around it struggles to survive. Actor Russell Hornsby (Grimm and Lincoln Rhyme) will play a key recurring role in the upcoming third and final season of the Netflix sci-fi adventure series Lost in Space, but details on who he will be playing are being kept under wraps. (Deadline)

Actress Audrey Corsa has been promoted to series regular on the CBS legal drama All Rise. She plays Samantha Powell, a young ambitious law clerk in the DDA’s office bullpen. (Deadline)

MOVIE NEWS

Recent Emmy winner Zendaya will star as Ronnie Spector, the frontwoman of the musical group The Ronettes, in a biopic of her life, which will pay particular emphasis on Spector’s early career, the formation of group and their subsequent signing to Phil Spector’s Philles Records. It will also look at her marriage to Phil Spector, their eventual divorce and her battle to gain back the rights to her music. (Variety)

Actor Zac Efron will star in a new adaptation of the Stephen King novel Firestarter, which centers on a young girl who develops pyrokinetic powers and the ability to see the future. She is abducted by a mysterious government agency that plans to weaponize her superhuman skills. (Variety)

Actor Tanner Buchanan (Cobra Kai and Designated Survivor) will star opposite newcomer Addison Rae in the gender-flipping box office He’s All That, a remake of the 1999 movie She’s All That. Rae will take over the Freddie Prinze, Jr. role while Buchanan will take over the Rachael Leigh Cook role. The film will follow an influencer who decides to avenge herself by accepting a challenge to turn the school’s biggest loser into prom king after her boyfriend turns her into a laughing stock.
