Here is the list of the programming options to expect on TV this coming week:
On June 14, the new series The Republic of Sarah will debut on The CW at 9 PM. The bucolic tranquility of Greylock, New Hampshire is upended when a massive vein of coltan – an incredibly valuable mineral used in tech – is discovered under the town. State-backed mining company Lydon Industries swoops in with plans to extract the mineral and plans that include wiping Greylock off the map. With her friends and family in danger of losing their homes, rebellious high school teacher Sarah Cooper (Stella Baker) vows to stop Lydon’s bulldozers. It won’t be easy. Leading Lydon’s efforts is Sarah’s estranged brother, Danny Cooper (Luke Mitchell). After enduring a difficult childhood at the hands of his mother, former state senator Ellen Cooper (Megan Follows), Danny is eager to exact his revenge on a community he feels abandoned him. Sarah enlists her friends – fellow teacher Corinne Dearborn (Hope Lauren), police officer Amy “AJ” Johnson (Nia Holloway), and diner manager Grover Simms (Ian Duff) – in the fight against Danny, but there seems to be no way to stop the town’s impending demise; until Sarah proposes an oddly intriguing solution: Greylock could declare independence.
The season finale of Cruel Summer will air on Freeform on June 15 at 10 PM.
On June 16, The Blacklist will move to its new night (Wednesday) on NBC at its new time of 10 PM while that same night the season finale of The Handmaid’s Tale will air online on Hulu.
The 10-episode half-hour dark comedy Physical will debut on Apple TV+ online on June 18. Set in the idyllic but fragile beach paradise of sunny 1980s San Diego, the series stars Rose Byrne as Sheila Rubin, a quietly tortured, seemingly dutiful housewife supporting her smart but controversial husband’s bid for state assembly. But behind closed doors, Sheila has her own darkly funny take on life she rarely lets the world see. She’s also battling a complex set of personal demons relating to her self-image. That is until she finds release through the unlikeliest source: the world of aerobics. The cast include Ashley Liao, Ian Gomez and Lou Taylor Pucci.
Also on June 18, the Disney+ drama Big Shot will air its season finale online.
The Hallmark Channel movie Her Pen Pal will debut at 9 PM on June 19. Event planner Victoria (Mallory Jansen) can’t wait to attend –- and plan –- her best friend’s wedding in Paris. But when she finds out her ex is bringing a date, Victoria reconnects with her French childhood pen pal (Josh Sasse).
Lastly on June 20, the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movie To Catch a Spy will debut at 8 PM. When the newly renovated Hotel Optima in Malta has a grand reopening, Chloe (Nathalie Kelley) and her team from Destination Traveler Magazine, which includes Sara, (Patti Murin), head over to cover the travel scene in Malta. On her first night in Malta, Chloe overhears an altercation happening through the air vent of her hotel room and then sees someone fall to their death – right past her hotel window! Chloe assists the FBI agent, Aaron (Colin Donnell), working on the case, but will they catch the killer before the killer finds them?
Mark your calendars!
